I have a couple Fossil Skeleton watches I bought some years back. Still use them from time to time. Mostly use them for a dinner out or special occasion. They are interesting watches for not more than 200 dollars. I always get interesting compliments on how cool they are because you can see the insides of them working away. Now I mostly use my Samsung galaxy watch 6 to track my steps and heart rate for work and every day. That Cartier Tank is awesome I must say.

Interesting video : I’ve bought and sold some lovely Swiss & German watches over 30 years , but recently found much of the same enjoyment can be found in fine fountain pens. Some of my favourite pens are Japanese especially Pilot , which has rekindled my passion for watches , particularly Grand Seiko : thinking of purchasing a titanium “Lake Suwa” Spring drive from GS with stunning blue dial from some money inherited from my uncle which will remind me of him every time I wear it.

Omega, being from the French part of Switzerland, deserves a French Waterman, maybe a Carène in black and gold.

As someone who enjoys both, I find myself gravitating toward the Japanese marques. In both areas, the Japanese marques offer more for the money than their European rivals, and feature greater vertical integration in terms nibs and movements. I would suggest pairing a Junghans Max Bill or a Nomos with a Lamy 2000, a Cartier Tank with a Waterman Carene, a Japanese urushi maki-e fountain pen with a Grand Seiko, a Montblanc 149 with a Rolex Day-Date, and a Visconti Homo sapiens with a Panerai Luminor. This video has.a very engaging concept and I enjoyed it very much. I was drawn in even though I don't consider myself a watch person. My only watch is a 1963 Omega Seamaster Automatic I inherited from my late father. He wore it every day, so it's a strong memory running through my life. What pen would I pair with this? It's not a large watch, and it has both a chrome case and numerals. So, I think my late 1950s Parker 21 Flighter - an uncommon pen - with its chrome trim and vintage proportions fits well.
If I had to pick something from my collection to go with your lovely Seamaster I'd go with my vintage Conway Stewart 100, a bold but subtle pen on a glossy black finish.
Actually, the accessories I match with my pens are my cufflinks (I don't like button cuffs)!

I don't know about watches, but I found a pen I'm sure would transcend, perhaps not in a good way, the epicurean boundaries of the most discerning fountain pen bon vivant.
Bic makes fountain pens. Please don't read the previous sentence with a mouthful of your favorite beverage.
I think I'll pass for now, but maybe this Christmas for friends not familiar with the benefits of the nib. A brand anyone would recognize, the siren call of a nib tracing words - Bic fountain pens could be a gateway.
Great video. The ethos of pens and penmanship includes more than the pen.

No, what makes you think that? I was wearing it at the beginning.

Thanks for asking, I still have it. I was saving it and my Rolex, and maybe my San Marino and Casio for Part 2! I love that watch!

The watch has no chrome on it whatsoever, it is stainless steel!!

One strives for adjectives, for synonyms, for shiny metals. You’re clearly stating the obvious. The poet in me weeps.

@@HemingwayJones I don't disagree with you but I think you are misleading people by calling it "chrome".
Chrome is what was on older car bumpers which tended to peel off, stainless steel will not do that.

@@HemingwayJones Trying to wax poetic or not stainless steel is not chrome. I think you are misleading people who may not know the difference.
