I’m thinking about a Sailor Pro Gear - Iris Nebula. The blue reminds me of my bike that I painted as a kid. I went to the store and picked out that color paint, metallic flake blue, I picked it out, out of all the colors available, so it was sort of a custom paint job. As soon as I saw that iris Nebula blue, I immediately thought of that bike. So the pricy pen at least has a certain amount of sentimentality for me, which is pretty cool, provided it looks like the photos they post online, because you never know for sure I don’t know who photographs some of these pens ( or anything you’re contemplating buying online) because often they make them far less appealing than they really are in real life. Well, welcome to 21’st century logic. Man…That gold nib kind of freaks me out though. What if it sucks? It’s not like I can just go buy another replacement gold nib if I don’t like it. Personally the “gold” means nothing to me, but if it has a bit of flex/line variation, I’ll like that because I like stubs for the line variation), but they’re too damned thick, and that can be a nightmare depending on the paper. I like fine nibs. A Japanese nib would certainly assuage my fears in regards to European fine nibs being too thick. $360.00, or whatever it is, is an absurd amount of money to sped on a pen. That pen is quite a step up from my Ecos and Metros. This Sailor would absolutely qualify as a “grail” pen for me. Well if I buy it, I guess I’ll just have to cut down my calorie intake to 600 per day for of couple months…How much is blood going for these days; maybe I can sell some blood? Ultimately, I’m sure my good sense will keep me in check, and I won’t buy it, especially and MAINLY because I’d be buying it without ever seeing it in person, or actually touching it, let alone writing with it….THAT is crazier than the price of the pen - Buying sight unseen. I’d drop the cash, IF I could see it and try it first, because I do like to write. Ingesting ink? I’ve done it. I’ve licked it off my hand, and sucked on a nib ( no pun intended I assure you), to get the damned thing flowing. When I smiled in the mirror, I looked like something from the Exorcist with the crevices between my teeth dark blue, and my tongue, and teeth enamel in various lighter shades of blue. It’s fine! It’s just a little ink. I don’t swallow it ( again, absolutely NO pun intended). I just spit it out, and rinse my mouth out with water. It’s kind of fun spitting in blue.

Las estilográficas con punta retráctil se suelen secar mucho y en poco tiempo. Tengo (entre otras) una Stipula Leonardo Da Vinci que es muy bonita pero me tiene aburrido. Es retráctil también y el plumín se seca muy pronto independientemente que esta tuya, en concreto, esté un poco dañada. Saludos

Hello Hemingway! Another stellar live stream! Really dig that Majohn! Might have to put that one on my radar! Have to be truthful. I HAVE touched my pen nibs to my tonque lately! Did get them writing if they were hesitant. Only one time did I actually taste the ink. Probably should stop doing that though! Looking forward to the videos you have coming up! Back to the Majohn. . .I REALLY dislike those dinky short international cartridges! Never had much luck ever using them. Hard to get started, seem to hard start at the worst times. Perhaps that's why your Majohn was hard starting. Now, longer cartridges, especially with large openings, like the Pilot ones, work ok for me. Even longer ones with the smaller openings have given me problems before. Have a nice safe and sane Fourth, HJ!!

I bought this pen today to use with a bluedew flex nib I purchased I'm hoping the big ink capacity will help with the massive flow needed for flex pen. Thank you for this review - mine cost me AUD $25 which included delivery. I haven't used an eyedropper before so I am looking forward to it - thanks for the review.

That's a fun and potentially great idea, tying the purchase of a pen to a vacation experience. (as long as you also bring a pen that is guaranteed to write :) )

I agree---Master and Commander is one of my favorite movies.....It inspired me to learn the violin for a decade along with my son (who played for 15 years) . And to visit the HMS Victory in Portsmouth. You must be OK, then-----------ha ha.

Im a lefty and Im only used at writing when my paper is on a certain angle. I only noticed it when somebody in the comment said it and realized i was doing the same thing lol

My vote is for the M1000, Waski is correct. You will definitely not regret, I did try test driving the Pelican 1000, and it was like fountain pen heaven.
