  • I had a bit of interest into how exactly one maintains vacuum filling pens so I thought I might as well just pop a quick video out for you all. I hope you enjoy!

Not sure why these "how to" videos don't do well, but I appreciate them!

These videos are great for everyone. I remember the videos Sbrebrown did back in the day. They were very useful
I tend to forget how to do things if I don't do them often. And I am not particularly good at pulling things apart and rwassembling them or adjusting nibs. So it is great to watch someone clearly showing all the tiny steps. I always need a "for dummies" guide to stuff like this 😂 I really appreciate this video and I hope that you will do more of these despite the algorhythm's stupidity

Stupid algorithm. It did put your channel in front of me recently and I'm loving it! I'm sorry these don't do as well.

Very helpful. I can tell you, with my attention deficits, I dare only dismantle and service one pen at a time!

I love to the how tos! Especially on how to make your pens a little wetter, best hack ever! Especially for my jinhaos and kawecos, the pens I'm not worried to ruin

Helpful and reassuring. Hope more folk are prepared to give it a go.

I hope so too! It’s less scary to take apart your pens once you’ve done it once

I use this method for all my piston filler and vacuum filler pens. I am sort of obsessive with maintenance so finding out how to clean and lubricate these pens is paramount.
Adjusting the times is perhaps a bit trickier. You should demonstrate that, too.
Flushing the nib and feed may be the most critical of maintaining the pen.
This procedure is great and thank you for demonstrating.

Helping with your algorithm by adding a comment AND forwarding your video to my sister, who I pen-abled by gifting her a TWISBI as her first fountain pen! 😂. I own a couple but this one was not a video that could help me. I did a very thorough cleaning a couple of months back and lost my rose gold nib, JUST the light metal nib, down the drain!! I’m know I can pick up a replacement but only in SS, not rose gold. I guess I just needed to formally mourn 😢
Thank for the video and another view of your new home! I’m so happy for you and Parker! 🐈

Actually - you can replace the rose gold nibs. Send TWSBI an email, and they'll arrange to ship it to you. They have plenty on hand - but don't post them as part of their overall inventory. I think they cost slightly more than the regular nibs - but for what it's worth - it will get you writing again. Apparently, if you buy a used TWSBI - with say a broken clip - they'll replace it for you too. They have quite a large backstock of surplus parts and its another reason why I love them.

PLEASE I WANNA SEE A VIDEO ABOUT DISASSEMBLING THE UPER VACUUM PART OF THE VISCONTI HOMOSAPIENS ! IN ORDER TO CLEAN IT !
I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT IN THE WHOLE YT !

This was a great video. I'd love more of these please. I believe for the TWSBI 580, there is another grease required to lubricate the piston rod. Do you have a pelican? Have you opened it up to clean it too? How about your Pilot 823? Great video, as always. Thank you.

I need one for TWSBI Diamond 580 piston. I feel like it is a lost cause but I can’t give up on it yet. I have watched a lot of videos but maybe yours will be more clear.
