What an incredible gift! Thank you for sharing. This is one of my favorite pens, and I'd love to get my hands on one someday. The lack of an ink window is a bit of a bummer, though.
Great review! I have a Dark Age from 2016 with a 23kt Paladium Nib and it is by far the smoothest writing pen I have ever written with. It is so smooth that it feels like the nib tip is hovering over the paper.
Excellent review. I have the original Homo Sapiens with the brass fittings…love how it has a nice patina now…I love mine and my nib was good out of the box. I would never sell mine.
Of my three Visconti gold nibs, two were great right out of the box. Third was slightly misaligned and way too dry. However, it took about 60sec for an experienced pen repair person at a pen club meet up to put it right. I like my Crystal Dream as my “travel” and notetaking workhorse because I have a great view of the ink left.
I’ve the bronze age (had it for years) with a fine palladium nib, and it’s been great. But as you say, you have no idea when it’s going to run out, so you need to have a spare (preferably a demonstrator) with you too …
Always insightful, no exceptions here. Question please, what does sbrebrown signify in Dutch? It’s an Akkerman ink color, your online name, but I’m clueless.
I love everything about the pen except for the clip. It's sonobtrusive and gaudy. If they had a flattened clip version I would actually drop the money on this thing.
Your video on the Visconti Opera Elements fire inspired me to get that very fountain pen. Now I have 30+ pens. My wife doesn’t like you. Haha But thank you for your reviews!
The great Leonardi de Vinci could writh with both hands reverse and forward, his greatest masterpiece was his intellect, cause our brain encode info picture format to binary. So most of painters/artists found the secret language of expression since dream form only with image or picture not words or written alphabets. Indeed fountain experience stays in our mind as pictures not suitable with this very model cause we love to see visually the Foutain pen, not lost with writing or signatures only. Just like dreams....
I have the exact same nib size and type and it writes beautifully out of the box. The only difference is that mine is the Dark Age, so shiny black trims instead of red :)
Awesome review as always! Glad you got such a great gift! Well deserved 👏

I always value your informed , honest, and fair evaluations, and swell personality in these pen reviews

Hi Stephen!!! This review is one of the most entertaining that I watched so far!!! A lot of fun!! Thanks
i have two of them although i would have preferred if it was a piston filler instead of a vacuum filler
A holy grail pen with a superb stub nib. Who could ask for anything more? Maybe a blue one to match the red. Excellent review .

Of all the pens of that series, I liked that one best. I like the red hardware. What a great gift.
Nice review, thanks!

Nice review. Shout out to Mark Bacas. He has worked on several of my nibs and he does great work.

That's a generous gift. If you were a car youtuber that would be like a viewer sending you a high end car if not a supercar.
What a nice gift.
5:17 My Dark Age came with the same misalignment.
nice gesture from your viewer. anyway, should you ever feel equally generous...

That is not ok, showing a nib from a nibmaster. I want to know how the original nib is like.

@@nicolasmikah4168 do you have a fine or medium nib please?
beautiful what other makes and models do you know of with that charging system?
mmm this puddle color prevents me from understanding the real quality of the nib
