      Please resist trends of layering music into your talks. The constant sound is irritating and importantly greatly hinders ability to focus on the information being imparted.

    Thanks for the informative video, I found it very helpful. I tried the 12 hour fast a couple of times and did see my blood sugar go between 100 and 140, using my CGM. Keep in mind that I take Toujeo 50 units at 10pm everyday. As I learn what foods I should not be eating, I just do not buy them anymore. I subscribed and started to watch your videos for more good information.

    I eat a low histamine diet. I feel better and less hypoglycemic. My blood pressure has decreased to normal. I believe I have histamine intolerance or cell mast activation syndrome. Histamine intolerance or CMAS can lead to insulin resistance. Histamine causes cytokines to affect blood sugar. I was hypoglycemic for 40 years and no medical professional has helped me. I learned this all on my own. TH-cam and facebook support groups are my doctors. Sugar causes inflammation.

      @@joanneclark8256 All I can advise you to do is search for "low histamine diet." I asked for help since I was a teenager but no healthcare professional has really helped me. It took me over 40 years to figure out how to help myself. I gave up career goals because of my health issues. There does seem to be a correlation with hormones and histamines and blood sugar. I'm still figuring all of this out with the help of other people in a facebook group. I took birth control pills decades ago and they made me sick but I kept taking them because I was married to an abuser back in the day before people talked about domestic abuse. There is an emotional component to all of this. William Dickinson has some videos that have helped me.

    Dr. Nolte I have a question
    I have been doing low carb successfully. However : went off by eating too much sourdough bread and way too many grapes. I had zero control after indulging. Would increasing insuline too much and too quickly give a propensity to binge? I have insulin resistance. What a terrible day it was.

      Dr Jason Fang says ..a dash of cream with coffee is ok. If it helps you not eat until later. It might raise blood sugar a little, but goes down quickly. It’s surly better that, than not fasting and having say cereal and toast in the morning .

      black coffee is better

    • @shanta335
      @shanta335 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Of course coffee with heavy whipping cream breaks a fast. Instead of coffee and heavy whipping cream try hot water. I normally drink black coffee, but I found it diffcult to sustain a 24 hour fast, I would eventually have cravings later in the day. When I started having a hot mug of water, i guess that tricked my brain into thinking I was drinking coffee, but the plain water helped me keep my insulin low and tap into burning my fat. The results were fast. But, if you are a normal coffee drinker like myself the mental part will be the toughest. There is no dopamine hit or happy mood. You feel a little bit isolated. Other feelings I experienced, was calm and clarity.

    I've watched many videos on reducing blood sugar and insulin to correct insulin resistance from all different people here on youtube. One thing I've sadly noticed is I am not a "normal" case when it comes to the foods (mostly the proteins) that are suggested for those of us with pre-diabetes. I am someone who had my gallbladder removed some 35 years ago and I have a difficult time processing fat and protein. What would you suggest for someone like me who is pre-diabetic, insulin resistant and who has no gallbladder. I am extremely overweight (I never used to be), I do not eat/drink anything with sugar (it actually hurts my body) and I'm wheat and gluten intolerant. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have that I could try to improve my condition. I understand that you can't actually give me medical advice, but if you know of any suggestions that I can talk over with my doctor I would be very grateful.

    Only eat 2-3 meals. If you snack in between it spikes insulin which is the opposite of what you want. This is true even if you snack on something “healthy” that has low or zero calories, it’s the insulin spike that is the problem.

    It's not just what you eat and when you eat ... but how much you eat. Calorie reduction is key ...

      Low calorie or lower carb ? Insulin is related to carbs.

      @@ahmedzakikhan7639Insulin is released when you eat protein, and especially animal proteins. It's not as simple as you expect it to be.

      I mean sure yeah you'll lose the same weight if you eat 1000 calories a day of chocolate or a balanced diet, but I don't think we disagree on which is healthier and which will cause you severe health problems in literal months

    Is diet coke ok?

  • @danieltaughinbaugh6814
    @danieltaughinbaugh6814 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nearly everything has added sugar. 1 Coke has 44g of sugar. So no more than 25g / day. Really eat as little as possible or you can have other issues as well.

    You don’t know what your talking about. Rule number one is to eliminate as many carbs as possible. No sugar of any kind. Eliminate starches which is just wasted carbs. If you are diabetic lose 20 to 25 percent of your body weight with any diet that works for you.

    Thanks for the video. I probably got the math wrong but in accordance with your number 1 tip, I'd have to drink 240 glasses of water a day. Also, without sounding critical, I seldom watch your videos thru to the end. Your hand gestures throw me off.

      Hi David. I'm not sure how much you weigh, but the math is at least 1/2 your body weight (in pounds) in ounces of water per day. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, that would be 100 ounces of water. If there are 8 ounces in each glass, that would be 12.5 glasses of water per day.
