- this is me downgrading my jasper rgh to the blades dashboard 6717. credits to Josh from OctalsModShop! files can be found on his website!

why would they ever replace this gorgeous, practical dashboard with the boring app crap we have now

it’s even more boring with the closure of the Xbox 360 Store
It's very dated but I wouldve at least appreciated Microsoft to make it a them or something after replacing it
@@avegee24tv NXE Is pretty good looking! But the blades has NXE beat hands down every time all day. Look how seamless this is and how the background is integrated into the UI. NXE Has a lot of it's own quirks that I love too, but If i had to just pick one blades would be the one for me. But that's the dope thing about having a modded 360! We can choose what ever the hell we want and when ever we are feeling it!
I'm convinced Xbox wouldn't be so down bad in the console war if they brought back the blades
Because I stayed with the 360 for way longer than many others I find I have more nostalgia to the newest dash than the older one lol, but the older one is just so cool 😩

RGH 3, Is now the best and easiest way to RGH a console.
I may be late, but to do this, just dump current nand, load nand and cd key on jrunner, and on xebuild section set kernel version and nand type thing to what you want, I set mine to 6717 with gltich2(I left CB as is), you may have something different, but just set it to whatever your console uses/has. Create XeBuild Image, and flash it using xell or nand flasher program/tool.

@@sucaNaitoraven951 wrong, hard to explain here but it works on slims. Whatever reddit post saying it doesn’t work on slims is going off the basis of efuses, even though they don’t matter in the type of nand building you are doing.

I tried this, but unfortunately there's an odd incompatibility with Blades and RGH2. I can flash the 9199 and 6717 NAND's without issue on a Jasper, but booting with 6717 just gives a black screen. XeLL works as normal so I'm not bricked.
Having memories of this dashboard is strange because I was only 6 when they got rid of it.
It’s a necessity to do this now, considering the recent dashboard is just butchered now due to the marketplace shutdown

@@kazukimatsuno5493 Well he flashed the system with a .bin file. Maybe it’s a custom file? I don’t know what have a original .bin for the dashboard
@@yodead369 if you weren't so dumb he modded it prob someday once the 360 is fully discontinued maybe it'll have Homebrew just like the Nintendo consoles that won't need a mod chip
I might buy a 360 now if this will work on all rgh? I remember first going to friends basement and it was his uncles, very dim lit, pinball machines, broken arcade machines like one or two and you had to crouch around to get into the room where the tv couch and xbox was, and it was a white OG xbox, I remember we played medal honor, and gta sa and it was on this dashboard. a year later or something he had it in his living room and we would sit and play our ds's together and share games, and also play xbox games and take turns from the ds to the XBOX. and I remember I set my DSi to use online on his router so we'd also browse the internet on it and shit lol, good times.
Out of curiosity, does a 360 have to be RGH'd in order to downgrade the dashboard? I would assume RGH ignores the fuse check or something like that.

did the Jasper models come from factory with the Blades dashboard? Awesome video, i'm planning on rgh my jasper so i want to do this too
some of the early jasper models did come with blades dash, the later ones came with the nxe dash. yeah if you rgh your jasper you can definitely do this but not all games and software will not work on this older dashboard.

Last version of the Blades dashboard before the NXE dashboard was introduced. Is it possible to downgrade to this dashboard on a Trinity, Corona, or Winchester motherboard?
Winchesters cant be modded so for that motherboard no the others I have no idea

Do you happen to know which exact patched Jrunner version this was from Josh? I have several in my databank, but Josh happened to removed the downgrade function at some point due to people selling these consoles on ebay as legit 1888 blades dash for money.

Awh man, can't get this to work on my Jasper 16mb.
This was by far, the best console interface ever created. Idk why Microsoft went an screwed it all up.
The XBOX UI on 360, One, and Series is a complete piece of trash. It's very very slow, it's unorganized, it's confusing, it's a nightmare to use.
Bring back the blades Microsoft. It was user friendly, really fast, and very functional.
The og Xbox dashboard is the best it’s so futuristic

@@sucaNaitoraven951 hey man I’m not sure anymore but I think you just need your current image for the key vault then you build a hacked image targeting 6717 but I don’t know these days
So basically I have to mod my 360 witch I don't know how to do ah whatever latest dash is fine but it would be cool to have a blades 360

yes. if your 360's modded, you can basically flip-flop between them

Typically you create a restore NAND image that you use to reflash your console to 17559.
Is it permanent? 'Cuz I got a used Xbox 360 Elite, and I wanted to downgrade it. And I wanted to connect it to Xbox Live.

? I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but if you want to know whether you'll be able to play new games with this version, then the answer is no. you'll only be able to play games that are as old, or older than your system.
if you want to play new games, but have the blades dashboard, you can try replacing the Metro one using DashLaunch for example. things like the guide menus will still be new, but the dash will look like this. (take my answer with a grain of salt tho, I'm still a 360 noob, and I got into modding them only a week ago)

what are the downsides of this you can't use Xbox Live right?
You're not gonna be able to use xbox live and some newer games (specifically newer XBLA games and games that need to install to the drive) won't work
You cant use any modified console on xbox live even with the latest firmware, your console will get permanently banned from xbox live if a mod is detected

There are stealth servers we use to play modded systems online. I recommend Proto since it doesn't have hacks/cheats or a custom UI.

you need to install the rgh chip into your 360 mobo and use XeXMenu to downgrade/load the older dashboard

its not fake, anyone can do it.
no its not fake, if you have a jtag or RGH you can downgrade
If you spent more than 5 minutes looking into it you'd know it's Xell Reloaded, it's what you load onto the NAND chip to do the downgrade to blades.
@@realgroovy24 can you take a look at my video on my channel? I bought a RGH Xbox with Blades on it, but with the current kernel. So I can go online, and still have the blades dashboard simultaneously. But I wanna know how the dude who I bought it from did it.
