The 0023 secondary error code for the Xbox 360 console typically deals with the clock chip not responding. This issue is a very uncommon one and would require the average user to replace the motherboard with a working one. Additionally, this is one of the few errors that differ between the Xbox 360 phat console and slim version. This error on an Xbox 360 S would require you to replace the power supply or check components on the eDRAM for damage or missing parts.
These videos made me consider selling my halo 4 special edition 360 with my profile of like 13 years on XBL, but seeing him go through all of these old profiles never to be played again feels like he’s sifting through relics of a time that’ll never be seen again.. I think I’m gonna hang on to my Xbox for awhile just cause of all the memories I made with that thing.
My first xbox 360 was one of those halo 4 SE’s (good memories), got it christmas of 2012. Sadly she kicked the bucket, i managed to find a mw2 jasper at a yard sale for 6$ though, works fine minus the disc tray giving me a hard time sometimes. But you should def keep it. Sick Limited edition honestly
I was part for the FreeStyle Dasboard Team. My GT was DarkMurf seen at 13:58, Pretty sure this is one of the skins i created for the dash, I was also the first to added animated wallpapers and music to the dashboard. Some skins took over 80 hours to complete.
thanks for your legendary work, even though aurora is out and probably works better I still use FSD 3 because of it mimicing my favorite stock dashboard NXE, and also it just having more of a soul and style on default.
in case you didn't know for RGH/JTAG consoles, if they're turned off and you press the disc tray button, it'll boot into a setting which I cannot remember off the top of my head, however it'll just inform you quickly whether it's fully modded without xex menu, I just remember that from using RGH/JTAG beforehand
Nice thanks 👍 I’ll have to do that and some playing around with this rgh console. The sad part is I used to know a lot about the jtag scene, but I’ve forgotten most of that at this point. I did my own jtag back in 2013/2014, but haven’t touched the jtag or rgh scene since then
I bought a 360 locally for $15 and did the RGH3 mod on it (which doesn't require a mod chip only 2 wires, a resistor, and sometimes a postfix adapter). Installed a 2tb HDD on it and I absolutely love it. I've been playing 360, XBLA, and OG xbox games from my childhood on it. If you have the skills and tools to do it I highly recommend it, especially since the 360 store will be closing soon
I have always wanted to get it done. I have a few slims laying around, but I have no skills to do anything like that. I always end up just playing 360 games through Xenia on PC.
This is my favorite series you do especially the old Xbox 360 tests. There's something wonderfully nostalgic about seeing you test these. It hits right in my heart and I desperately miss 2005-2013 and get strangely depressed and excited at the same time. What amazing memories the 360 gave me and my old buddies I don't talk to anymore. Sigh.
At my dentist’s, we have XBOX 360s that the children used to play with. Unfortunately, they got rid of the controllers after COVID-19, and the XBOX 360s have just been sitting there.
if you are wondering why some games load and some dont, if the home xbox is set to that xbox then a license is added to that xbox's hardware id, along with the profile that purchased the game.
Ive bought a handful of used xbox ones. The games are usable if whoever owned them digitally had their console set as their home console. This remains even with the profile in question deleted until they eventually rehome on a new console. In my experience even with a factory reset the home licenses remain.
For the Xbox one games the reason why they are playable to launching but don't need a profile is because of something called a home. On one of those deleted profiles someone set that Xbox to their home Xbox in the settings. Meaning you can play the games without the internet or logging into the profile that bought them
If you have a multimeter you can fix the dead lasers. Whichever pot on the laser reads between 2-5ish ohms you just slowly lower the resistance and test untill it starts working again. I used to fix all my friends drives back in the day
You need to point Aurora or Freestyle to the folder that the games are in for them to show up. Also you can set the console to boot to aurora dash via dashlaunch.
I tried to get dashlaunch to boot while I was making the video, but it kept freezing/crashing and I couldn't ever set the boot dash. There's probably an easy fix or something I'm missing - I haven't messed with the rgh console much yet

Xbox 360s made after ~June 2008 or serviced after ~march/april 2008 aren't prone to the original flip-chip bump failures that caused the RROD epidemic, so the first system you showed here is actually one of the more reliable systems
I think you have to have games' licenses downloaded to the console (then anyone on the console can access the game, offline). If not, then only the profile who purchased the game can access it via Xbox Live
Just like ps game share. You have a home console or whatever and everybody can play the game but if its not home console only the person who owns it can play it

Not an Xbox modder, but going to guess the RGH console doesn't have the external drive they were using where the games were stored maybe. My modded ps3 has 99% of the games on the external.
It has the drive, look at how the 250gb have 88gb used. It means there is something stored on it and nothing but a lot of games or movies can take up that amount.
You need to go into the settings from Aurora and in the Content tab you need to point out where the games are on the HDD. I have an RGH 360 and it still works ok and i'm using Aurora even tho Freestyle 3 is still installed, Aurora is def better and it has the updates for the games on the servers
What blows my mind is how many people don’t wipe their consoles clean before trading it or selling it, which I can see some of these being kids, I would be worried that someone would buy something with my account😅
I have a falcon RGH 3 which allows the dashboards to be changed to the NXE dashboard and the Blades or revert back to metro, the feature is quite cool and nostalgic to use if you like the older dashboards. Dashlaunch can control the fans to make the console more reliable and cooler from what I believe. Aurora doesn’t seem to be scanning the folders for the games on here.. With 360s I suggest when you buy them like this you boot them using the eject button instead of power. that way if they're modded it'll be much more clear, they'll boot into xell

21:21 If you have your account set to have a specific xbox as "my home xbox" then you can play your digitally owned games offline. It's likely that black ops 3 was a disc that they installed so it wouldn't work now that they no longer have it in the system
With Xbox One/Series (360 to a degree as well) you can have a "home" Xbox. So if your account is set to the home Xbox and you own Rocket League, UFC, and Batman then it will work even offline, but if that's not your "home" console then it will not allow you to boot the games without a connection. So the Black Ops III and GTA were either a disc or another accounts digital games.
13:39 1 setup files -> Default.xex -> Pess Y -> System info -> GPU Fan Speed Override. How much would you like for the RGH? Edit: Not selling it, no worries i can help you out.
Xbox One & Series always allows you to boot up games when the profile that owns it has set is at it's home console and it will even continue to work if the profile gets deleted from the system. You can only set one home console so the previous owner of the Xbox One just never added a new one. To get rid of the game library of a previous owner, you can simply factory reset the console.
the disc tray closing on its own was an issue with mine, seeing that happen unlocked memories of my disc tray trying to eat my finger when i would switch the disc lmfao
I can just imagine you slapping the top of the xbox afterwards scolding it for trying to eat your finger lol (I was gonna say using a spray bottle but we know how that would end)
For that Xbox one, you can have a system be the main one on your account, this allows full use of your games without you being signed in. If the owner of those games that work changes there main to a system there on now, the access to those games will be pulled.
This error is unknown but assumed to be a short either under Southbridge and (H)ANA chip or in between these. Look for 0021 and 0022 and reflow the Southbridge-> HANA chip area, the X-Clamp Fix might help as well.
I traded in my flashed xbox 360 at a gamestop 7-8 years ago. I was worried they would check the seals and find out it's been opened but luckly they didn't. I wonder where it is now. Had so many good memories on that, played call of duty black ops leaked iso before it was released, put a pic of it on facebook and all my classmates were asking the next day how I had the game. Man, I miss those times.
The thing where you could play the games offline on the Xbox One is the "Home Xbox" feature in the settings where you can play games owned by another profile offline
Awesome stuff but not quite factually correct on the RGH 360's when you said it allows you to install a modchip. No modchip needed when doing an RGH, it is a timed injection attack at boot time using a modified NAND. Just need to solder a few wires and dump/reflash the NAND.
So if the xbox one / series console is set as the primary console or home console, you can play most games offline PS4, PS5, Switch set your home console automaticly but Xbox you need to do it yourself in settings.
Hey my xbox 360 E died during a power outage, the power supply is always yellow/orange but when i hit the power button on the 360 nothing happens. Do you have any suggestions?
maybe a bit late, but with some of the games requiring you to be connected, I think those may be home shared games, they might have those downloaded to the console from a friend, but you need a connection to play them, which might be why BO3 & GTA didn't launch on the XB1 but Arkham Knight did, as those are 2 of the most shared games in my experience, maybe the same for the 360 games?
To the issue of Xbox One Games not working. it make be that those were downloaded from a different profile and since that profile is not longer on the machine it doesn't allow them to play them because the "profile owner" isn't there to verify the "ownership" of the game. That's my theory about it since my brother got the same message years ago went i removed my profiles and took the console i gave him taway to my older brother because i was moving to PC Gaming.
but why are you going into the accouts i still have my xbox 360 account on my xbox now and i use it when i play bo2 id be quite mad if it said you cant play someone else is signed in to your account
At 11:09, why did you just pretend to not see the xexmenu? And then just magically thought to go and look back and see if anything is different? Instantly made me dislike the video
That RGH console is fun... I wonder what version it's running... Cuz there is a new method (RGH 3) that does not require a mod chip... You do need a NAND flasher... But that isn't a mod chip
Judging souly off the boot speed ima have to say either 1.2 v2 or 2 since 3s have quick boot times. If I had to set in stone I would say 2 since 1.2 works better on phat consoles
some games require internet to run and some that dont. also some accounts prob have their home xbox set as the xbox youre currently using, which means you can play offline. that bo3 on the xbox one is probably a disc game or something
Its weird to login into xbox live accounts that arent yours of old consoles. you dont need to log into their accounts to test the console. its like watching theft or scamming.

Also, 23:49 that head is from Battleblock Theater.
Hell yeah, Todd Howard was smiling down on you with that first 360.
Love your demeanor towards refurbishment. Also, these videos have great appeal because I watched most of it to see if my old console was starred!
10:24 that a spider that came out of the Xbox
19:56 my dad tried to hide me and my brother from seeing how you fix the disc drive on our xbox 360 elite now it is history.
Im like 93% certain that the bio at 16:00 are lyrics to a Five Finger Death Punch song.
I feel like a big chunk of Xbox's have lived in a piss-reeking hoarder house with paths through the trash, beer cans, and feces.
25:00 the first one came out in 2009. How old are you?
E0023 means the southbridge is fucked. You aren't fixing it unless you have a rework station that can do a BGA reapplication.
For the Xbox 360e it’s actually something with the backup clock generator and the system management controller unable to communicate
At 11:09, why did you just pretend to not see the xexmenu? And then just magically thought to go and look back and see if anything is different? Instantly made me dislike the video
My very first console I got from Goodwill ended up being an RGH'ed Xbox 360. It's crazy luck.
That RGH console is fun... I wonder what version it's running... Cuz there is a new method (RGH 3) that does not require a mod chip... You do need a NAND flasher... But that isn't a mod chip
Most new RGH’s are 3.0 for the pure fact it’s so easy to do. All you need is basic soldering skills.
It's most likely an older chip install since it didn't insta-boot. RGH 3, RGH 1.2 V2, and S-RGH can all insta-boot now
@@tempo844 I mean, I borked my 360 trying to do RGH 3... I cut the trace next to the PLL point...
Judging souly off the boot speed ima have to say either 1.2 v2 or 2 since 3s have quick boot times. If I had to set in stone I would say 2 since 1.2 works better on phat consoles
@@Astr0-1408 I don’t know how, it’s 2 wires lol. Sure the NAND part is “hard” but it’s not if you do a simple google search.
At 8:28 he looks at the account jack attack, and that is actually a cheat code for rdr1
The block head is from the game Battleblock Theatre
I think it would be cool if you tried to check for audio files on the xbox 360 consoles :)
some games require internet to run and some that dont. also some accounts prob have their home xbox set as the xbox youre currently using, which means you can play offline. that bo3 on the xbox one is probably a disc game or something
I'd unironically pay you to repair my 360 S if I had the cash. Been kind of having concerns about the fans and disc drive being real loud.
0:38 _It was Blessed by Todd Howard himself!_
Always love watching these used 360 videos, you can never know what gems you'll find
on an Xbox one if you set the console to your HOME Console you can launch certain games offline without needing to connect to xbox live.
hey i got a 360 E the disc reader thing dosent work like when i put a game in it says there isnt a game in do you know how to fix it?
I have that exact halo 4 360 with controllers modded is it really worth 400 dollars?
Its weird to login into xbox live accounts that arent yours of old consoles. you dont need to log into their accounts to test the console. its like watching theft or scamming.
the error saying that it can't launch the game is due to the profile not having ownership of the game.
