The Sims 2 & The Sims 3's Apartments also had the option to be built from scratch in ANY world. Different from The Sims 4 where Apartments can unfortunately not be placed and built in any world by the player.

In ts4 I’ll call the landlord multiple times to fix something and they’ll never come. It’s very realistic.

Sims 2 is the best. The variety of apartment buildings is huge. It's sad you didn't mention it. Moreover, there's an ability to build apartments of your own. It's tough and requires using of some cheats, but it's possible. And the fact that you can enter each apartment in the building is cool as well.
Apartments in TS3 are boring and camera's constant jumping from the ground to the flat pisses me off. TS4 is nice, but jumping camera is still a problem, plus the lack of neighbours (you can't enter every apartment in the building) and the landlord, and constant loading screens make it 2nd place for me.
The begining of the video pretty much showcased every apartments building in TS2 so I think we clearly saw the variety. 😅

And yeah, The Sims 2 is definitely the winner!
sims 2 not nessesary need cheats to build apartments you just need to change the lot zooning everything else is cheat free* changing lot zooning is not really a "Cheat" just a setting to be honest.
@@gabrielandy9272 I was going to say the same thing. Although will add, if you forgot some aspect, after moving in, in order to make changes, either you have to evict/move all playable characters out, change the lot zoning to make changes, and back again after, to avoid using mods and cheats. Even with mods and cheats, it is a bit tricky to add in aspects or make changes to the common areas when you have playable households already present (same as adding to any type of Uni lot when households are present). Of course, with Sims 2, the concept of apartment living (as well as renting houses), was first implemented in the University pack, however combined household income when more than one sim became playable, Apartment Living allows for more than 1 playable household to live at the same residence, while keeping each individual household's income separate.
4 Should have atleast had Apartments NOT Require a Loading Screen...because why the FRACKIN HECK do we need a LOADING Screen to go ACROSS the Hall, When The Sims 2 can do something Far better (4 has no Excuse as that is the Exact same lot)....ooghh, I mean. I Like some stuff in 4, even as a Lover of 2 and 3 but yikes

actually I think in sims 4 they complain about the noise. i remember getting some messages from the neighbors about my sim playing the piano in the night.

In sims 2 + 4 apartments were main features. In sims 3 only a small side issue because it was a pack with a different focus. Im from German. 😅
Yet sims 4 apartments suck.. you cant even build one.
In Sims 3 the apartments came without all the weird neighbors which was a blessing tbh. Sims 3 Nightlife was a great pack.

In sims 4 they will complain to you about the noise you make. A sim will come to the door and will send you a message if you ignore them
One fun detail in The Sims 4 is that traits can affect your neighbor's actions. Have a Goofball or Erratic neighbor? Be ready for them to barge in uninvited. Have a neighbor that Hates Children? Be ready for them to complain about noise when your sims' children are playing.
The landlord stay the same. If you are mean to them, they may refuse to help. In addition, the trash chute can break, which also allows you to call landlord for help.
In The Sims 2, the noise is an object, meaning it won't bother sims not in the same room as that. If you fill all squares next to the shared walls or live in separate floors, you won't have noise problems. Neighbors can complain about noise and smell though...
For me, The Sims 2 wins only because of its customizability. The Sims 4 is a good runner-up for me. The Sims 3 however, it's terrible. Even the lesser known apartment lot type from University Life, which are just dorms for non-university sims...
Sims 2 is the chef's kiss for apartment living❣ The ability to build proper apartments, town houses and even rental row houses (even on beach lots), able to ask neighbors/roommates to babysit, and my favorite aspect is you can build flop houses with common showers/bathrooms and a cafeteria (if you own University).
I have not played with Sims 4 apartments, but even though the Sims 3, you could not visit any apartment neighbors, I still would choose Sims 3 over Sims 4, because open world, allows you to visit everywhere, and I really do like the design of the apartments, even though there is only one true apartment per building.
Oh, and Sims 4 elevators are just pathetic...lol
I know right, they don't even bother animating the elevators doors opening and closing when the Sim uses the elevator. Teleports in and out of it, yuck.

Yes you can. If you have a high enough relationship with your neighbors, you can click on them and ask them to 'watch over kids'. It's basically a free nanny service.
9:10 I used the karaoke machine in the sims 4 and the neighbours complained. I think there are certain objects that don't work for some reason even though a dj booth would definitely be loud enough for them to hear
I actually tried the karaoke machine while doing the video but it didn't work either lol

It happened to me pretty much as soon as my family moved in. My sim was weight lifting at 3am in the morning (shortly after becoming a vamp and so barely ever sleeps). I don't know if the time makes a difference, but it's mattered a few times since. Another time was the stereo.
This is an expensive apartment too. My Sim went to university, so I moved them into a dorm, thinking it would be like Sims 2. It wasn't. If one of the two pre-made Sims I moved in with hadn't become pregnant and got kicked out anyway, I'd have likely moved them anyway. As they didn't have much in the way of funds, I joined them with "Father Winter". So I ended up with Santa, a male vamp, two female students and a baby living in an apartment across from Diego. He tends to make a noise more than he complains about ours, and it wakes the kid. Fortunately, this offers a good opportunity for the vamp to feed and kill two birds with one stone...
My sims neighbors complain all the time lol. I think what annoys the NPC sims depend on their traits. And they normally complain after 11pm.. usually it'll be because of loud music from the stereo, playing instruments or lifting weights/working out as you mentioned
Well concerning how glitched TS4 can be, that might be the reason why it didn't work for me 💀
Sims 2 wins by a landslide. The apartments can be built by scratch, landlord interactions, neighbors that do their own thing and yes noise and complains goes both ways.
Sims 2 also can have roommates that can share a portion of the rent. They too need to be happy about living at your apartment, else they'll leave.
i was obsessed w the trailer park in sims 2 i would always make my sims live in it , i thought it was sooo cute!

Why does TS2 seem to beat out the other games, it being the oldest one? TS4 only seems to have good features when it literally copies TS2 and, on occasion, improves upon them (as it should always be the case). TS3 seems to only have the open world and the color wheel going for it. Most features are either the same or lacking versus TS2 (why where the restaurants rabbit holes, when TS2 had awesome restaurants you could actually play in??). -- Honestly, if they could do a remaster re-release of TS2, I'd buy it all over again! $500 for it and all the packs? Shut up and take my money (and please let us build on the diagonal).

as a Sims 2 player, I was not even surprised anymore when I saw a feature I haven't seen before; when I heard that a LANDLORD can throw a PARTY like-

there is a mod for sims 2 which lets you rent a furnished apartment. makes sense since the rent price already includes all the objects that were originally placed in an apartment

Surprisingly, Sims 3 looked pretty weak this time, even weaker than TS4 when it comes to apartments logic. Well, nothing is perfect.
That's because the Sims3 has no apartment system to speak of, it's just a single suite in a high-rise shell....
the sims 3 don't have apartments, it have penthouse disguised as apartments, due to community requeest the devs added a apartment system but theres no pre made apartment, its just a option to select when you create a lot u can select apartment, but essentialy the game just force the "Roomate system" on the lot, nothing else basically.

Surprisingly? Sims 3 is where they started cutting corners at some stuff while, admittedly, enhancing other stuff like the colour wheel. But in most of these comparison videos you can see how the franchise slowly started lacking
I loved apartments in TS3. I think it’s the best one. Loved building my city with loads of skyscrapers etc. Missing the game a lot!
In the sims 2 you can actually build your own apartment building from scratch if you know what you are doing and enter the cheat "changelotzoning apartmentbase" at the end of the build

The sims 3 may be the weakest apartments, but it's because it wasn't the main feature of the pack. In the sims 2 and 4, the packs were apartment life and city living, packs entirely about living in apartments. The sims 3 gave us a pack about nightlife, vampires, a metropolitian area, celebrities, etc and added appartments because they felt it made sense
City Living wasn’t entirely about living in apartments. That was just one of my many features of the pack. There were plenty of other things it introduced into the game that it would feel weird lacking once you actually own the expansion, such as festivals.
In The Sims 2 it wasn’t the main theme of the pack too because it also added witches

Sims 2 is the best one for sure. The small details makes the game unique and unforgattable. It is sad that they didn't continue this quality and rather they chose to make a shitty game even after over 30 DLC's

Sims 2 Apartment Life is the best. I built a cul-de-sac neighborhood aka apartments and was able to have a functioning neighborhood aesthetic. My kids could go over their friends house and everything it was magical. those were good times.

In Sims 2 you can also make a companion, that is a roommate through the services he can choose, but he will live on his own in your apartment as a pet, he needs good conditions and relationships to provide, or if all of this will not be he can leave you forever, but you can also kick him out if he bored you!
In Sims 2 you can build actual apartments. And lots of them in the same lot, for different families.
0:12 Belladonna Cove not Desiderata Valley
The quality of each game goes a lot with the type of pack of each game. In Sims 2 is literally an Appartment Life pack, so it was very in-depth about it. Even more being Sims 2 that were very detailed in everything. In Sims 3 tho, the pack were not focused in appartments, but big city life. It had A LOT of features. If I am not wrong, they tried to apply more stuff for appartments, but it didn't go well, so they went with a simpler gameplay for them. But honestly I don't mind much cause the pack is incredible. As for Sims 4, it should be even MORE than it was. It had some interesting things, but it was mainly about having appartments plus big city life. But is passable.
I think TS2's "Visit" is Broken, because I hear that Originally Sims were meant to do that Animation when they enter Each Room to get a feel for what the Whole apartment looks like, but something happened that stops them wandering to examine each room

About the noise in sims 4. Your sim gets a tense moodlet whenever your neighbours are noisy and they won't be able to sleep due to noise. So it's annoying when u have kids and they have school in the morning. Cus once you shout at your neighbour, it takes time till they get quiet. And whenever there are the hearts on the door (they are woohooing), there's a chance that when you knock a guy sim will open the door in a maid outfit 😂

It would be nice if before renting you get to meet the landlord and view the available ones in sims 4. Signing the lease is a nice touch and wish that that wasn't something they did away with. And being able to furnish it and what not would be cool too. Those little details and features are so realistic and just makes gameplay better.

The sims 4’s apartments neighbors are so annoying that I end up evicting them immediately upon moving in and evicting anyone who moves in. I kind of wish they weren’t a feature and didn’t have to deal with them, it’s a bit too realistic in apartment living haha

in the sims 3 you are showing pent houses not apartments* theres no pre made apartments in the sims 3. in late night you also don't have apartments at all just penthouses where the game puts homeless npcs as living in the hidden doors nothing else, apartments got inlcuded in a later patch u can select a lot ot be "Apartment mode" when you create a new lot, but theres basically no new gameplay on it.
in my opnion the sims 4 did better on the gameplay other than the missing animation for elevators and stuff and because it have both pent house and apartment system.
and sims 2 is better cause you can build you own apartment but the gameplay on apartments itself is worse.
sims 3 i don't even consider to have apartments theres basically nothing on it.
The sims 3 apartments are disappointing, but the excuse I can give it is that apartment life/renting was not the main focus of the pack at all. Rather it was the whole city-celebrity-partying-lifestyle pack. And in that sense, it’s a very good pack, but it’s too bad the apartments were a bit of an afterthought

Actually in TS4 neighbours do complain about you making noise. I had Penny Pizzaz banging on my door at eight pm because my sim’s baby woke up and started crying, saying she was trying to sleep.
I remember, Vladislaus liked to get into the appartment of my sim at nights, sucked his blood and then disappeared - it was really creepy! 😂 I didn't know, how to get rid of him. At that moment, I was not much skilled at Sims 4 playing 🤣

What properties does your computer have, what windows do you have and how do the sims 2 and 3 look so fluid? I am glad that they run well for me, both the sims 2 and 3 run slow. I have window 7 and 4gb of ram
My PC has 4 gb ram/windows 10 and the both run fine on it. Might be your cpu/gpu

sims 4 is this bizarre thingy because apartments technically came with one pack without landlords but then the sims 4 for rent came out and added landlord and rents...so technically you could say sims 4 apartments didn't come with the landlords either like sims 3

You can't even say the sims 3 had apartments. They are called lofts and the sim owns it not rent it so it's more like a condo not an apartment. The sims 2 had the best.
In TS4 my neighbors are always complaining about noise tho. If u have the radio on after like 9 or 10 pm they knock all pissed off.
As almost always sims 2 is the winner, but surprisingly sims 4 did a slighter better job than sims 3 (i never thought that i'll say that)
