Something I still don't understand is when in ts3 my child sim is sick and I don't send them to school, I get a notification from the school thanking for not sending in a sick child, but the adults go to scold them anyways..
If you want there Is a Mod called scolding the Let you choose went AND how to scold the sim 😊 (also sorry for my english)
if you were looking for an actual answer, it's because they never properly updated the grounding system for seasons. it's the same reason that kids and teens get in trouble for staying home on snow days. so they added the sickness mechanics, but didn't account for how grounding fits into it, unfortunately
@@nerdychocobo thanks
@@VaaleBeetancurG that mod has broken strings (text) for non English languages (instead of "punishment..." it just displays "..." in the pie menu). There's picture of it on the last page in the comment section of this mod at ModTheSims.
I know there are some mods to fix this. I'm sure you'll find them if you search around
Sims 2 and 3 are so most better for people like me who want an actual life simulation game.
Yeah but they look bad let's be honest
@@seadragonpirate8195 Yeah sims in sims 3 look possessed
i feel like sims 3 is where the lifeless, robotic sims started creeping in.
In the sims 3 there’s an event that occurs that can sometimes lead to grounding. If you have a teenage sim in the house an event will pop up and you can choose to send the parents away for two sim days on a free vacation and while they’re away the teen can throw a ‘teen party’. If the neighbours notice the noise they’ll call the police who’ll burst the party and break it up and when the parents get home they’ll get mad and ground the teen sim for throwing a party. Or if that doesn’t happen, after the party ends the house can get trashed and if the teen doesn’t fix things and clean up before the parents get home they’ll figure out that the teen threw a party and ground them.
Also, there are a series of neighbourhood pranks your sim can pull ( ding dong ditch, egg someone’s house, prank calls etc…)and if caught they might either just be scolded or handed over to the police who’ll then take them home and they’ll get grounded. If they pull school pranks like flooding the school, steal tests, deface the mascot etc) and they get caught they can get detention which will make the parents mad and they will ground the kid/ teen.
At 1:43 the sim just saying "nope" and walking away is hilarious
3:04 There are other reasons to be grounded in TS3:
Bad grades, getting into a fight and skipping work (maybe there are other reasons but I don't remember)
This time Sims 3 is superior, too bad bugs happen
I just started a new game in TS3, playing with an adult and a teenager (for the first time).
They're not related and since I was only in the first 10 minutes of the game, they didn't have much of a relationship either.
Suddenly, the adult sim began to scold the teenager, and autonomously, she left the house and stood against the porch wall (it's a very small house).
It was strange because she didn't do anything. She hadn't started classes yet, nor did she act badly. She was just cooking and made a mess on the counter. He's not her father and he just scolded her like that for the dirty counter?
They both have the "proper" trait. He's also grumpy and evil.
The next morning, she started having mood swings, so I guess he must have anticipated that.
LOL
7:33 is so accurate lol the punishment walk
I only play sims 3. My sims kids must be so well behaved because I never knew time out and other things in this video. Only get the grounded and that not being able to go to school bug. And also got in trouble thing. But not anything else in this. I now need to test out making my sims kids misbehave to see these things I've never seen lol
Sims 2 was my favourite, grew up with sims 1 and 2, but never played sims 4. Only play sims 3 now. Since too lazy to install all my sims 2 expansions on my current laptop. Love these videos for bringing me memories of the sims 2
While I agree that TS2 is not as advanced, with only having autonomous lecturing, I still find it to be more organic than TS3/4. When TS2:NL brought "fury," to the game, I never realized how realistic TS2 could become (parents can act very abusive towards their teens, especially if they are mean and serious). Personalities/Aspirations/Interests/etc., all impact each and every autonomous action. The memory system, along with hidden memories (responsible for the gossip circulating around town), are key components and triggers. Relationships can also be one-sided, which can trigger children and parents to act, react and interact at different levels, at different times, in different ways.
TS2:S brought even more intense dynamics depending on the season. Winter time, family relationships will increase at heightened levels, ergo you truly have to manually manipulate your sims to provoke the autonomous lecturing. However, since autumn is a time for skill/work/school boosts, if a child or teen is slacking off, most parents will lecture more.
TS2:FT brought the hobby system, and they further enhance the interests system. Clashing hobbies and interests will impact relationship scores, which in turn will lead to rebellious behaviors and lectures. However, if common ground can be found, sims will autonomously interact within said parameters (leading players having to truly work at manually manipulating to fit certain negative interactions, to provoke lecturing).
Also, TS2:FT allows for secondary aspirations, which can make or break down familial ties, especially between teens and parents.
TS2:AL brought a reputation system, and with it being multi-directional, along with the full-on gossip web, even outside interactions (especially the further one goes towards the bad side), will inevitibly cause rebellious acts, and familial tensions.
However, there is one aspect that can truly break a teen's spirit, to the point of them autonomously running away, and that is low relationship scores with the household members.
All in all, TS2 (if they continued on with it), could have easily implemented the elements of the later games, and with its personality and memory system, it would easily outshine them with organic automated actions❣
As for TS3, I cannot play without TS3:G installed, but it still falls short with the generational dynamics of TS2. Trait slots have limitations (and are relatively stagnant), Moodlets are mostly temporary and Memories are just a player's scrapbook, without impacting any gameplay.
In TS2, every action and interaction impacts one of the many systems in the game, which allow sims to evolve multi-directionally.
As for TS3, the parent noticing the homework being done (the trigger to let them off the hook), works with gaining any skill too. I think the game devs expanded beyond the cleaning and hardiness skill, when parents ask children/teens to do chores (especially since children cannot do repairs). While you can see the skill bars, the game does not recognize, until the skill point ticks up, unlike homework, which is captured by percentage completion.
Now, TS4 is another can of worms. Their actual parenting choices are even more in-depth than TS3, but all but lecturing has to be manually chosen, unlike TS3's autonomous interactions.
TS3 does have some bugs and glitches ("sneak" into elderhood), but can easily be fixed with mods. I do not think mods can even save TS4. 🤷♀️
Sims 4 animation is just not it, i can't stand that game.
Same! 😫💀
a big problem with the sims 4 is the recycled animations. really takes away what personality they have :(
same here!
3:54 the toddler told him to leave her alone and he didn't listen
I pray you never run of things to compare in the sims 😭🙏🏾
Not anytime soon 😂 I'm actually overwhelmed by the amount of topics I have yet to cover! 🥴
George Williston: David! I cannot believe you got expelled from high school for initiating numerous fights and being extremely disrespectful to the school staff. I am so extremely infuriated at you for what you did. That is it!
Rina Aldrey: David, you are grounded for the remainder of your time as a teen with no access to computers, televisions, or cell phones. Go to your room right now!
12:03 Walk glitch; My sims were back to normal after resetting them.
0:46 YES there’s actually a mod to stop the lecture interaction from cancelling whatever the sims are doing lol
sims 3 for me
it's a shame ts3 grounding is so buggy lol
Jeez, I had no idea there are so many interactions in Sims3, my kids are usually so good ;'D Or the interactions go buggy~ Usually my young sims are grounded when they didn't get back home on time :')
Sims 2 was ahead of its time with the gentle parenting
I would say The Sims 3 if it wasn't so buggy, Sims 4 is all right. I wish it would have been a little bit more depth.
4:08 Me in the morning before 8:00 AM. 😅😅😅😅😅
Sims 2 is underdevelopped, Sims 3 is buggy and Sims 4 lacks good animation... but I's say TS3 is better, at least mods can help.
Under development?
@@ravenID429 the joys of autocorrect
is there anywhere i can download sims 2?
Sims 4 would be the best, given its many options. But the implementation is lazy. If you don't direct the parent to deal the punishment, it just won't happen.
Sims 3 would be the best, and it is in most ways. But the grounding bug ruins it.
Sims 2 is the best. It works. Not the mention, if a child/teen stays failing in school long enough, they will be sent to military school. I love that! Much better than Sims 4's answer of truancy by child abduction.
...
I suddenly remembered, a Sims 2 bug (easy work-around though) where the teen brought home by police might still be wearing the handcuffs after the officer leaves! Moveobjects on, then select to delete the handcuffs returns the teen to normal.
Sims 2 lacks a proper grounding system. Military school is cool though. Too bad it won't be brought back.
@@TickingClocks Sims 3 has my favorite grounding system, except when it comes to actually grounding.
kid in sims4 look like very older than kid in. sims2 and sims3 lol
2 is the most realistic, 3 is second close
Really? 😄 I'd say TS3 is the best this time, IMO
@@Sitycims I truly can't decide myself at all at this point so both i guess 😂😂😂❤
@@Sitycims The Sims 3 grounding system is buggy... so...
@@javadbahram795 Yeah...but there's inherently more features

A curfew? What is this? 1947?
This is a very rare sims 4 W in my honest opinion. Yeah, the animations are dog💩 but this opens up for a setup where you can have an _unimaginable_ low relationship between a parent and a child and you can pick and choose on the parenting style you have, because not everyone cares about their naughty kids and raise spoiled brats and some people go into overdrive and become extremely strict and punishing towards their kids. On top of that, it works fine and as much as I hate this game, this one is an upgrade
Yeah they did have an incredibly expensive gamepack spesifically focused on this, so it should be better
Sims 4... on this one.
