Hey Zach, I just purchased your ZMR20 and stuff for a new build. I decided to forgo all this complication and got the Taranis. Now I have the Tx calling out the individual average cell voltage and the RSSI(Tx/Rx signal strength) at an interval of your choosing. The cool thing is that the telemetry is all done with one additional single wire. The learning curve for the Taranis is quit steep. Thank GOD for TH-cam.

Thanks a lot!!! I used the instructions on this video to I think load up the small osd board that goes on the back of the 1177 cameras. I actually am going to mount the old remotely from the camera since I am running a Runcam Swift and the board does not mount like it would on a 1177. I have not tried it out yet but I am sure following your directions got it loaded correctly. Thanks again, Tony

Thanks for the video Zach. I am using this PDB and notice quite alot of noise on my fpv. Seems like the LC filter onboard does not work well. Do you have any fix for this? Thanks
Great video! Thank you for the video! However, I cannot get it to read my voltage correctly.... With a 4S pack at 15V and "Voltage Adjust" set all the way to 255, I only get 13V.... Any idea what can cause it?

I have a problem that I REALLY need help with to conserve my sanity.. using same PDB and config as you, my OSD works, displays voltage, rssi and mode, but as soon as I arm it says No Data, then none of the data works. I have tried different FW, configs, new naze32, new OSD, always the same issue. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.

Your video helped but I'd like to make a point or if I missed it sorry :) Please let others know about the baud rate. Mine was defaulted to 9600 which gave me a waiting for osd where it normally would give the status. It is now working when i changed it to 115200 as is shown in your video
Followed a combination of yours and Painless 360's process, loading the MWOSD firmware. Setup all the wiring and tested. On the screen I can see the OSD overlay, however the camera is not pushing any video to the monitor. If I remove the OSD the camera pushes video to the monitor without issue. Its as if the camera isn't getting power. I have hooked the leads (at the camera to a Volt Meter) and its getting the standard 10.67 (12v) signal). Any help appreciated. Do you have a break out of how your wiring is installed?
"Use FC main voltage", what if Im using a CC3D FC with a 5V BEC? Should I dissable it?

which java 32 bit version do I need to run, any help would be great
hi, when I try to run on arduino i received this error only:
avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000
0xff != 0x0c
avrdude: verification error; content mismatch
A couple of notes: The .osd file was built for a different version of MWOSD. The "Use FC RSSI" should be turned on under RSSI (and RSSI should be mapped to a channel in cleanflight). The newest version of MWOSD should now work with whatever the newest version of arduino is now out. The errors that required 1.0.5 are fixed. Also, if you have a 64 bit version of windows (all newer computers) you will likely have to downgrade your java to the 32 bit version in order to run the 32 bit MWOSD configurator. I haven't run version 1.5 yet so I don't know if the 64 bit version is working yet.
astralisdustin Thanks for noticing that, I changed and reuploaded the OSD file to enable FC RSSI now.
after flashing the micro minim osd and i am about to go to mw_osd gui the file only contains mw_osd gui r.16 as a CRX files and a link to google instruction ??? i'm stuck and i don't know what to do from there. i cannot access it.

Hey +Zachary Moore... Thanx a lot for your video. I wonder if you know what could be wrong if "Waiting OSD" message does not stop flashing. Even though it was flashing I did follow your instructions to upload the default font and it worked (went from "Upload" 1/256 to "Upload 256/256"), but then "Waiting OSD" flashing again all the time.
I do have communication through Arduino... I actually uploaded your files... but in the GUI I get this message. Hope this makes sense to you and hopefully is an easy question for you. :)
I was having this exact same issue... the baud rate got changed. I set it to the highest (115200) and it worked fine.
Even setting matching baud rate at GUI, OSD & winport didnt fix the waiting OSD issue for me. Turns out i flashed 1.2 standalone & tried to access with 1.6 GUI. Matched the versions n it worked fine.

Great tutorial but I am having some trouble, I have the older ftdi 232 and when I try to configure the eeprom clear or the flashing of the osd firmware, it sits there saying its uploading for ever. So far I let it sit for 10 mins without any progress. I am using a custom gaming rig that is this gen so computing power isn't an issue. Any help with the tool configuration? Driver is installed.
Did you get the problem fixed with it just stuck at uploading? I have the same problem it just says uploading and won't complete.

i have problems opening the GUI on windows 10, or rather problems running any processing software on windows 10. It does create a process in taskmanager, but it does not show anything on the screen :(

+muh1h1 did u try 32bit & 64bit ? I could only open 64. the 32bit didnt react at all!
so I did all this and worked fine according to the gui but when i plugged it back in I get nothing now. Had an osd before now it's completely gone. ANy ideas?
nvm just figured it out, had to change to PAL in the MWOSD even though I thought I was using NTSC

the zmr board is really clean. I got mine up in the air and love it. problem is the osd. all the time I spent on it to make it plug in and I can't flash it to mwosd because of the 64 bit thing . how do you fix the Java thing? the pdb was the reason I got a naze32. my apm quads work with everything enabled. the naze is stable and with that board it's clean as hell. any help on the Java downgrade thing would make me happy happy happy. also how in the world did you solder the voltage regulates on?
you need to downgrade to the 32bit version of java. Your computer likely has 64bit installed. The voltage regs on the board?
Yes the regs on the board. I ruined 1 already trying to get it to stick. Any trick?
I actually installed both java and was able to get it to work in windows 7. I only had 32 bit and neither gui worked. I installed the 64 bit and it works.
+john wolff I have the same problem right now, what version of java you installed.
I actually found out that you have to install both java 32 and 64. Works now. I had 32 installed but had to install the 64 from Adobe downloads. Guess you need both.
I cant get to adrino board, no tabs, I load & get errors, cpp 11 & 14, orange writing, installed java, both, HELP!!!!!!!
where can you download the application every time I download it there is no application just a load of folders ive had the minimosd for a month now and cannot use it because I cant find any thing to run it
+bob gasman It's in one of the folders. I believe in the MWOSD GUI folder, then there's one in Windows 32 and 64 depending on which you use.

Hi, when i try 'EEPROM Clear' or upload the firmware, it gives me 'avrdude: stk500_paged_write(): (a) protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x64
avrdude: stk500_cmd(): programmer is out of sync'

we have the same issue
+sir francis. You should select the corresponding board... in my case I was using an Arduino FTDI, and didn't know I had to choose "Arduino Fio" (Tools -> Board -> Arduino Fio)... Also make sure you select the corresct Port (Tools -> Port)... Hope this helps.
i found it work after reading this message,, note that all the fiels should be save and put into 1 folder,,
any misisng files will cause error, Thank again , it also works on 1.0X version of adruino.. Cheers
my camera is working but still have no display on screen?
What type of PDB is that? Does it have designated pads for minimosd?

i m having problems , with the exact minimOSD and PDB but with CC3D Fc..
the CC3d just dont want to send info to OSD ..."NO DATA" msg in osd , i checked everything again and again...

TX RX cables from MINIMOSD to FC FlexiPort RX TX
UART2 set for MSP (checkd)115200 , telemetry disabled, logging disable ...
nothing..
i am waiting for NAZE32 cause i heard issues with my current hw combination..!
i guess your problem solved already? if you use sbus in main port. then no problem using flexi port for osd. but if you using ppm with 1wire or pwm. then u cannot use flexi port. it need to go through main port as MSP UART1.
it was a bad CC3d board , i checked with another and its working, but now i use naze32 rev6...

+James Bennett If your board gets very hot, then that's a board problem, I had to buy a new one, and no issues.

Can't get MWOSD open on Windows 10. Anyone possibly know why it wont open?
+Steve Taylor I had troubles with it as well, what does it say? What version MWOSD are you using? Are you trying the 32 or 64 version?
+Zachary Moore I believe it's 1.5 and when I run 32bit it gives me an error but if I run 64bit it runs and a small Bios screen pops up for a second goes away and then nothing after. The program never pops up after I start it.
Maybe I should try an older version?

+Steve Taylor Okay, here's the scoop. The 64bit MWOSD configurator was broken at the time (and still may be) so I had to install the 32bit version of java, and run the 32bit version of the MWOSD configurator. So install the 32bit version of java and you'll be golden.
