    You can use an external recorder or monitor as a flippy screen if your camera doesn’t have one. They are also super bright, which comes in handy if you are filming outside.

    everybody is talking about how great video quality becomes with external recorders, but nobody ever shows a footage of difference in quality between both. is it significant?
    You didn't show the samples for videos where difference in video-quality has been specified .. I mean how much difference is there between shooting it on SD card or externally?

      You don’t need to watch a result. An external recorder usually is a tool to maximize recording on your camera. For example i have a fuji xs10 and the max resolution it can shoot is 4k 30 fps and 4:2:0 8 bit but if you have an external recorder it can shoot 4k 60 fps 4:2:2 10 bit

    Weird question but can something like these be used as a redundant storage on a camera with only one card slot? Want to get a6700 for travel/hiking but would also use it for stuff where I'd feel much better with the redundancy of 2 cards. I don't even shoot video lol. I do like the idea of having the big bright screen for certain situations.

    • @floatingrabbit3556

    • @houdinididiit
      @houdinididiit ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@floatingrabbit3556 That's why I'm asking. The camera list is very small for Netflix. However, some cameras come close except for say 4:2:2 sampling, etc. This will help in that area. But what about other requirements? No one seems to know the answer on this. 🤷‍♂

      @@houdinididiit Using an external recorder will not improve the quality or specs of your video at all. It will allow you to see what you are shooting better and has other features that mean that the video you get out will be better from a shot level, but there will be no improvement in things like resolution, sampling, or other spec requirements that Netflix has.

    Does anyone know of a dual SD card external video recorder? The Atamos Ninja is an awesome external monitor, but it records to a single SSD drive. This puts all your shots in one basket. If that single drive fails, you're out of luck. Thanks
