    - Skeleton Summoner with a skeleton undead Eidolon
    - Enemy crits
    - Use the Collapse feat
    - Enemy be like: "hehe, gottem, raise up and I'll get an attack of opportunity"
    - Enemy gets stab from behind by the Eidolon
    - DM be like: "seriously?"
    - Another victim of the mighty *skelebros*

quick note on additional lore as a feat, it autoscales in proficiency (you get a free increase in the chosen lore at 3, 7 and 15) so it's not "just" giving you a trained lore. To my understanding feats like these work retroactively so you jump in at expert in your "past life" lore of your chosing and become master and legendary passively. So you get to have one additional skill trained plus a scaling lore skill, which seems like a pretty good deal to me. I'd still probably take the more skeleton-esque feats (especially on an ancestry with an intelligence deficit, not that great for lore) but it's not that bad.

If you're playing in a long-term campaign or Adventure Path where you regularly encounter a certain type of enemy -- cultists for an evil god, an extended clan of humanoids, etc. -- Additonal Lore is one of the best feats you can take, especially if your character has decent Intelligence, because it is the **only** feat in the game that automatically improves in proficiency as you level up. Ever since I discovered that fact, most of my characters have picked it up eventually. Seriously, don't sleep on that feat!

  • @Nyrufa

Skeletons are dexterous, because without all that meat weighing them down, they're extremely light weight and can probably fit into cramped spaces much easier.

I feel like skeletons have always been mostly dexterity based creature
They don't use brute force but speed and bleed
They are just bones, so they are agile, light and free to move as they want
Also they usually are depicted with weapons like scimitars and bow, which are mostly dexterity weapons

    • @xdragoonzero0

Bows being dexterity weapons is a gaming trope. Shoot one. In any fantasy that isn't running off of RPG stats, it should be a Strength weapon.
Remember the Odyssey? The suitors weren't capable of stringing or even drawing Odysseus' bow because it was so mighty.

    • @theweirdlyfriendlymushroom7920
      @theweirdlyfriendlymushroom7920 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@carloscaro9121 Bows are weird, you need a LOT of strength to bend one and shoot, yet you need aim (dexterity) to hit
Yet you can't make them scale with both stats, and there are many efficient bows that you don't need a massive strenght to weild
So it makes sense to me how they chose to handel them
Would be cool to have some big strength bows tho

You are restored to the state you were in when you made the token. So if you did this when you hit level 9 and never recast it when you come back, you're level 9 even if you and your party were level 20 when you died.
Depending on how strict you followed that you would also have no knowledge of the intervening time. You come back as though you had been in stasis the entire time.

This skeleton give me ideas: A person who was a normal person, but get his village destroyed by undead and them he was killed by that invasion.
To increase tragedy he was turn into a skeleton by the same necromancer who destroyed his village. As time pass on he was forced to killed but little by little he recover pieces of his memories until he was freed from the control.
He sworn vengeance against that damn necromancer. He was never good in magic, so he specialized in a way to destroy the undead kind, and to make easier to do such thing, he became a Thaumaturgy to be able to hit where it hurt more.
He might be aware that if the necromancer die, he might die too. But he doesn't care. His mission is more importantly. A skeleton thaumaturgy.

My copy came in last night and I've been loving it so far. Skeletons have always been my favorite kind of undead and wizards are my favorite class so I am a tad annoyed their penalty is to intelligence. After all, they are not mindless anymore. I feel like skeletons should be like humans or orcs in that they get two plus twos and no penalty. My homebrew change is +2 Dex and Free +2. I also wish they had a feat to give them the advanced undead benefits because it feels weird to me for skeletons to only have low light and not darkvision. Very curious as to what you think Nonat. That all said, fantastic video as always. Love your content!

Hmm, to allow a player to use the Well Armed feat to grab keys, flip switches, pickpocket a guard, etc...Interesting.

I think I’ve seen an isekai or two in which a character uses As In Life, So In Death.

You might to reread Past Life.
It a) grants training in any skill as well as granting the Additional Lore feat and b) Additional Lore grants automatic scaling to Legendary.
One trained skill and a good flexible skill feat is solid for a 5th level ancestry feat.

My thing with liches and in this case rejuvenation tokens is that skeletons are objects. Skeletons can phylacteries. In fact in D&D lore there was a guy that used every bone of someone else's body as a phylactery. Why can't one lich use another skeleton as a phylactery and then that other skeleton uses the first guy as their phylactery? That way the only way they could die is if they died and their bodies were destroyed at the same time.

      I don't think a Lich counts as a Token

@@Haos51 But why would skeletons count then? Why would resurrecting a skeleton after making it a token cease it's tokenship?

Past life says it trains you in a skill and gives additional lore. So that's 2 skills for the one feat. I mean, not exciting, but alright.

plus you get the skill feat for additional lore. Meaning it scales up by your level.
