😂jimny is the worst car for the prices, we have a 2022 model at home, and the easiest way to explain it is if you want to be late or reach your destination cramping and in pain the jimny is for you.
But it isn't though. You guys are being unfair on this car by judging it on standards that it doesn't fit, wasn't designed for and even worse, isn't even marketed on. Suzuki has never said this is a family car. They've never said it's a highway cruiser. If you bought it or tested it on those standards, you're either ill-informed, MISCHIEVOUS or downright insane. The Jimny is a very specific tool, for a very specific purpose. It's targeted at a very specific niche customer. A customer who knows that Jimny is small, slow and lacking certain creature comforts. They buy it anyway. They're not stupid. They have specific needs for a compact, capable offroader. This Jimny meets their needs and that's enough. Stop critising something that is clearly not meant for you or your needs. Jimny was never meant to be a volume seller. It's been going on for decades like this. To be frank, I'm no Jimny fan either, but that doesn't give me the right to go around talking nonsense about it. As a petrolhead, I hate it when people unfairly misjudge a vehicle simply based on lazy thinking. Which is usually the main reason people end up buying the wrong cars for their needs.
If you hate the Jimny so much, sell it, you will find eager buyers for it since the 3 door will soon be phased out and the offroad angles are different (for instance that scrape that happened in the video wont happen in the 3 door). For the money you get for it you can comfortably put yourself in a Chery or Haval that has much more comfortable seats and a turbocharged engine. Life is too short to be miserable in a car you dont like.
I watch all the big car review shows on youtube, but i always watch your reviews after to get the real world view of life with the vehicle in South Africa- You never bullshit around and i respect that
Reason 1- it's giving G-Wagon vibes, it's beautiful❤ Reason number 2- it has a smaller engine, smaller body which means great fuel economy🤗 Number 3- it's a getaway or weekend adventure for you and your chihuahua mchana🐕 Reason 4- it's a very capable small 4x4 that you can get for that price brand new, some people are just not into big cars😊 Number 5- not everything is about Speed🤗 Great review as usual🙌🏾💯
The Jimny is a horrid all round vehicle. However its amazing for its specific task. I live in Barbados and these things are highly sought after. My island has narrow roads, low speed limits, high gas prices, very big beach culture, big rally racing culture, sizable surfing culture and most ppl don't drive longer than 1 hour a day and hardly ever go over 80KPH. In those circumstance the Jimny makes sense . Its not a family car. Its more of an outdoorsman's tool. And they absolutely love the Jimny.
I think you make some valid points in your video😁. It is a honest opinion and I respect that. I looked at buying the 5 door recently but decided against it as it is too expensive and opted for a 2 door that is nearly 100k less. I love the Jimny. It has a lot of character and it can go anywhere and has good resale value. The Jimny is more than a car it is a lifestyle, but agree it is not for everyone. I find it easy as a daily commuter. It sits high and manoeuvres easily in traffic. I have also installed a throttle controller and now it is very nippy and my fuel consumption sits at 6.7/100.
Hey Muzi, I've just bought a car from we buy cars... 2018 FIAT Tipo Lounge. It has full service history and the car is still fresh. Its a great car and I would love to see a review of it. I picked it up for R135000 so I would highly recommend this as a first car for young professionals.
To be honest, nothing you say about the Jimny's shortcomings will dissuade diehard fans. Jimny owners are not about speed and creature comforts like cruise control. Also, a pre-owned Jimny makes more sense if you're trying to save a few coins. Still a great little car. I prefer the 3 door. The jimny is easy to park as it doesn't take much room. So great for the inner city. So if you live in the city and like to get out on weekends on the dirt roads and explore, I think this could be for you. Probably not for someone doing regular highway commuting but it does look good on the front driveway so an excuse can be found for it. 😊

Tbh this Jimny is priced at least R100k more than what it is actually worth. Maybe getting the Grand Vitara GL and fitting off-road tyres would probably just do the job (for light gravel and dirt driving).
I drove the 5dr Jimney btw George and Knysna. Just no power to overtake over 100kph..Needs the turbo but this will make it even more expensive .it's fine as a second vehicle or if you into driving along dry riverbeds.. satisfied my curiosity .The Grand Vitara or Fronx is way better for me.

I'm curious about the speed, i know matt Watson from carwow and some others testers reached 160-165kmh With the 3 door on german roads, i can understand the extra weight can be a drawback, but the extra long should make It more stable, and just a bit more aerodynamic This car cannot be compared With a regular car, you said It, it's true, front solid axle with recirculating ball steering it's only seen in this and the Jeep wrangler, and can be quite shocking to Drive if you're not used to, specially to keep the car straight I won't get the mahindra or the chinese either, and the wrangler costs like 3 Jimny, it's just ridiculous..... It's been a nice review from a non offroader point of view, liked It
Each car was designed for a specific purpose, the Jimny wasn't designed for speed, if you need speed probably you may consider a BMW. The Jimny was designed tor offroad at a budget, it has a short wheel base, short approach angle and departure angle for tough terains, besides it's lightweight makes it easire to navigate through sand and mud with ease. In my country Kenya the Jimny was used by extension officers in many sugar companies and was soo perfect

You can get it in 4 flavours: a hatchback(Baleno), small crossover(Fronx), larger crossover(Grand Vitara) or SUV(Jimny). They all are adequately propelled with that engine despite the different sizes.
Yeah same 1.5 engine. I hope Muzi will touch the issue of handling. Baleno's handling for me is poor especially when I are driving 120km/h on windy road or meeting big trucks

Jimny is a great car. I love it, it does everything which is opposite to what you're saying but you said it yourself that you aren't a fan and you're just exaggerating to some point. One thing i can completely agree is it's way overpriced and cruising on highway is fun but for that i give it to them because it's sole purpose is offroading
I did a review on a Baic X55, within two months the car had gearbox failure, and a ton of other issues, so a Baic is a no go for me. I'd rather get a Jimny because at least the engine is a tried and tested unit.

From personal experience, you can do that but it will affect your credit score as you'll have multiple credit checks on your profile from all those banks which will bring your score down. It's recommended you apply for credit at least once in 6 months. Too many checks in one go makes you look desperate to creditors.
Thank you for hammering the point home, if you arent going to offroad this and just use it as a city car your life will be miserable and dont try to justify it by saying "oh I have potholes where I live" we all have potholes and last i checked unless they turn into sinkholes even a crossover can do the job.

so, you want a capable off roader that can go fast on the highway ? Go for a Mercedes G-Class (at about 5X the price of a Jimny). I own a Jimny 5-door and love it. It's a beast off-road and absolutely fine for an around town daily driver. There is no problem overtaking slower cars in normal driving situations. But, if your criteria is to blow by other cars at >100kph - the G-Class is what you need.
