    have DVD of 4,5 and 6 recorded in Paris, was in Köln for a concert (6th), heard in Amsterdam the amazing programm of the 3 big Stravinski ballets and Enchanted Lake as encore.

    ..does anyone know if mr gergiev has done an available version of the Manfred symphony by Tchaikovsky??

      He certainly has, yes. I can't find it on TH-cam but he's recorded it a couple of times.

    Gergiev is such a scary looking conductor. Reminds me of Toscanni

      It's the Andante from the 3rd symphony. Lovely, isn't it?

    He has no idea of tempo. Always rush! Tchaikovsky needs to be much slower and intensity

      I agree with you. Tchaikovsky's music needs, most of all, time and space to breathe.

      Tchaikovsky after a few slugs of vodka. Everything is dramatic. Tempo is of no concern :-)

      Actually slow tempos make it lugubrious. These tempi are about right.
