Agreed, but you can do all that stuff yourself for a fraction of the price. The only actual mods are the headers, exhaust, intake, upper pulley and the custom dyno tune. Hennessey does more like add those switches, the nitrous brackets, etc, plus all the labor, but you can have a wagon that fast for a fraction of that price.
So Hennessey charges you $30k for 100 more HP over stock, some decals and brackets in the rear for nitrous bottles, basically. In any CTS-V you can get 100 more HP with just a cold air intake, an upper pulley and a good tune. A pulley kit is $300, an intake is $300 or so, a good dyno tune is $500-600. Since Hennessey didn't do anything to the suspension in this wagon, just adding 100 HP to any CTS-V basically gives you the same car as this hammer wagon for $29,000 less.
I just want to know, if this CTS wagon came with the option of a sunroof. I will definitely look for one of these if I hit the lottery, if it has low mileage.
@2003SCT I was thinking the same thing through the whole vid. Anyone could do better than Hennessy for 30 grand. They could have at the very least included the nitrous.
Oh yeah, I'll agree that Audi really stepped up its game in recent years. But the R8 is the only car in their line up that "wow"s me. The A7 looks good, no doubt, but that's my problem with it and all other Audis: they just look "good". I'm not going to knock them for sticking with what works, but I think they need to break out and do something wild. The A7 may not do much for me, but the Sportback Concept it was based on? Now THAT was a car that I'd take pictures of.
@yummy1234098 The stock CTS-V is 12 city/ 18 highway. I don't this Hennessey will be a whole lot better on the EPA fuel gauge; maybe a little worse. If you have friends who are eco-types, you'll won't win those friends...
LEDs, wow, I stand corrected. Not. GM has said they're targeting Audi as a benchmark for interiors and overall build-quality, that's about it. Why BQ, I have no idea. If you look at J.D Powers' Initial Quality Study, Audi actually ranks BELOW two GM brands(Chevy and GMC), and Cadillac is in the top 5, behind Porsche, Jaguar and Lexus, and ahead of Honda.
for the last 40 years we all have been conditioned to thinking Mercedes Benz was the benchmark that Ferrari's and Lambo's were the only supercars....that changed when Audi launched the R8 and A5/S5 in 08.....have you seen the A7 in person that car is stupidly gorgeous!!! the current gen CTS has been around since 08 the coupe brought some flare but time for a redesign....at the end of the day i guess its preference
And I will agree that it's time for the CTS to get a makeover. I just want them to stick to their current design language; edgy and muscular, without looking bulky and awkward. Something like the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. Hard edges everywhere for stealth purposes, but it still looks sleek and streamlined; like a proper jet. Not like the F-117 Nighthawk bomber, which just looks weird.
4:28-4:35 -- careful now... and as they say -- don't try this at home. I'll stick to the conventional CTS wagon -- it's got plenty of power with the V6 (318 hp) and has all-wheel drive optional, and it's about half the Hennessey price -- Fully loaded around $50k.
All around, yes, GM still has a ways to go. But this is about exterior design. Not "exotic" materials, sophisticated driving systems, advanced automotive technology or levels of performance. Exterior Design. And in that context, I find Audis and BMWs to be boring. Fifty years from now, who's going to remember the M3 or RS 5 for what they looked like? Not saying the CTS-V will become some kind of icon, but I guarantee it'll stand out more most of its rivals, whether people love it or hate it.
Tacky looking exterior and cold interior. Cadillac should drop the diamond cut chisel marks on their new cars. The look is out dated anyhow by some years now.
I've heard John Hennessey has ripped off numerous people in the past, again just have heard (believe 10% of what you hear and 50% of what you see). Does anybody have an experience with getting their car tuned by Hennessey or getting any performance upgrades from Hennessey? I would really appreciate any insightful information you folks can provide.
As for German rivals...And? Did I say anything about performance? I don't care how they perform, it still doesn't change my opinion of both BMW and Audi's exterior designs being bland and uninspired. Cars like the Audi RS 5, BMW M3 and M5 are phenomenal performers, but their exteriors do nothing for me. Like I said, Mercedes is the only German manufacturer whose designs really stand out imo. But when they end up sharing that look with Hyundai models...It's not MB's fault, but still.
didn't say GM vehicles we bad just not up to par with it's german rivals and despite J.D. Powers study GM still considers Audi a benchmark!!!!.....I say again if it wasn't for the CTS-V's raw performance numbers the CTS is forgettable like the rest of Cadillac's line up...... the latter will soon be rectified by the Audi s6
No, they shouldn't. The hard-edged, angular design of Caddies is what sets them apart from everything else out there. Audis, Lexus' and BMWs can be as "curvy" as they want; they still all look uninspired and bland. "Modern", sure, but too "safe" and conservative. Gets a big fat "meh" out of me. Mercedes stands out, but Hyundai has been copying their designs for a while now, so their look isn't exactly exclusive anymore. As is one of their "catchphrases", Caddies are derivative of nothing.
audi's are uninspired and bland???? In case you haven't noticed Audi made LED daytime running lights cool and now everyone including GM is copying them in on way or another.....now Cadillac's design language is unique and that's about it.....if it wasn't for the CTS-V blistering performance the CTS is just not up to par with its german rivals...hell both audi and bmw turbo fours can dust a 300 horsepower CTS v6 any day
At 4:26, did I just see fire out the tailpipes? I need this fire breathing beast in my life!
Good to see John Davis still doing his thing

Hennessey is a joke, just take it to your local performance shop and reputable tuner.
I cannot believe this is a fuckin station wagon. this shit is stupid fast
I can't believe Hennessey is still in business, the man is a con artist.
What happened
@@LocoMan123 look it up. re using parts, delivering less than promised...
I just want to know, if this CTS wagon came with the option of a sunroof. I will definitely look for one of these if I hit the lottery, if it has low mileage.
Yes
Forget the Venom, I want to see a 1,200 hp ctsv wagon
@05front Yup. All GM LS engines are Push-rod configuration. If it works...don't fix it.
6.2 DOHC wtf Motorweek step it up
This over an hellcat anyday!
I think it's so funny how Brits always talk about how American cars have horrible panel gaps, when its there teeth that have the horrible gaps
but will they do this for the coupe?
Yea sorry Mw. Last time I checked (and I did before watching this). The Gm Ls engines are all pushrods. Not Dohc.
Lol what 30k for that Henny package!!! 🤣 That's a hefty price tag
whats the gas mileage on those things?
When they make one as a wagon, I will. Till then a few bolt-ons on a CTS-V will make it faster than a GT-R.
Dodge did what first with the Magnum? Had 650 HP?
In just one week, you too can replace a set of tires and brakes on your Hennesy CTS-V wagon.
"The Hammer does not like to be driven at anything but full-throttle".... typical half-effort Hennessey tuning.
@2003SCT I was thinking the same thing through the whole vid. Anyone could do better than Hennessy for 30 grand. They could have at the very least included the nitrous.
30k for 100hp more? Hot dang thats a lot
That's Hennessy for ya
Is this booze or a car?
Yeah they'll do any of their packages for any CTS-V.
Oh please oh please drive a VenomGT! haha, I can't get enough of that car :)
“Hammer” was already used by AMG for their wagon.
Wow, amazing.
is that $95,000 for the whole car?
yeah
Oh. I was gonna say that's stupid high just for upgrades
It's a beauty. If it doesn't have a V, im not interested! :D
That's not a sleeper with a sticker on the windshield that says Hennessy on it. Unless people think that you're just an alcoholic.
You forgot about the brakes, rotors, exhaust, and wheels. But its still not worth the 30k upgrade..
10 k max
@@idontlikecops1
Go find all of those aftermarket part (plus installation) for 10k.

2:55 ...Whut?
Just what you need to create some memorable "Holy Shit" moments on the street.
I get the V wagon but I don't get this H model at all.
yep
30 thousand dollars for injectors pulley and bolt ons.... What a crook haha I did all that to my V for 3k

Nope there's only one Hammer!

!
It’s stock at 556 ! Lol
I would rather buy the 2012 AUDI A6 AVANT :)
Yeah, and they're charging $250,000 for it. Just saying, Hennessey is not exactly value for money.

Hennessy automotives, strap on a supercharger charge 30K extra!

god damn that thing is one ugly shit box !
i just went here to confirm to myself that most american cars have ugly design
the street tires on the track with that much power seems to impair the car a lot.
