    This reminds me of when I was younger, my dad rebuilt a '62 Impala, but used a brand new 454 because the 327 block was cracked. Being dropped off at school in 2nd grade was awesome. All the kids would talk about how Lambos and Ferraris were the shit, then they shut up when my dad pulled into the pick up line. He sold it so my mom could by a sedan, while he took the work truck. We always joke about him selling it because he couldn't sell me. A truly good father.

You are better off buying something stock and put the money into it to do what you want. You can get a Magnuson supercharger for that CTS-V and @ 12-13psi be making at or close to 1,000 hp with some tuning, cam, exhaust etc. Probably cost you around $10,000-$15,000 all in. I'm always amazed that so many people can replicate what they see on these videos for pennies on the dollar. Sure maybe you can do your own work and port your heads and you have access to a dyno so you can come up with the right valvetrain choices to make the most of that inexpensive pulley set you just bought to spin your blower faster. You can do all of that for yourself for a quarter of the price. Yeah right. Don't you people understand that they guy is able to repeat what he is doing over and over so he can earn a living? It is called business. He makes money providing a service to people who cannot do it for themselves. Why does everyone have to be such haters?

Go look at JD Power and tell me where Cadillac is compared to Mercedes BMW and Audi. And no, 80% of German cars are not faster than the CTS-V. The CTS-V runs high 11s, are you saying 80% of all German cars run high 11s? Because if you are you may want to punch yourself in the face for being an idiot.

    So for $90,000 you have a $200,000 car. Another X amount of dollars and you can make the interior superior too.
    Why in gods name do Americans buy foreign cars? Can you imagine what GM could do with a $200,000 price point?
    Dollar for dollar I don't think any foreign company can compete with GM, and even if they can GM isn't a sports car company. Imagine if GM only built the Camaro and Corvettes - You would have two cars that nothing in class could touch.

    • @Kb1legend08
      @Kb1legend08 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Anthony Clauser you do realize what recently happened to GM and how they showed the world how pathetic of a company they are, there are estimates that hundreds of people have died as a result of malfunctions of GM assembled cars, of coarse GM only admitted to being responsible for 13 of those deaths, and here you are glorifying them. They cannot even assemble a Cobalt like its supposed to, yet you want them to tackle the $200,000 price point, are you out of your freaking mind. American car companies went under in the 70's and 80's and were "known worldwide" for their terrible quality during these years, until recently they were using almost 30 year old technology within their vehicles, no one seems to remember this? I understand that you should be proud of what your country makes, but even I am an American and realize that American cars are leaps and bounds behind the japanese, germans, and english in every aspect. Foreign car makers always had finesse and their cars all had pedigrees and all sort of seemed like the last. American cars completely differ from one generation to the next, you can hardly recognize them and thats because Americans dont build cars with honor like the japanese, they simply try to sell the most..Nothing matches up, everything rattles, no fine tuned engine sounds just brutal Harley Davidson exhaust notes...I like to think that I know more then the average person about cars and cannot concede why anyone in their rightful mind would take their hard earned money and spend it on an American brand of car, yea you can buy a giant sail boat suburban or even a 350 dually but when are you seriously going to be using it for its purpose. Everytime i see one and look over, all I see is a single person inside one of those warehouses. Such pointless, useless, wasteful material, just how us Americans love them, the bigger the better...

      joe C You are a moron. Just because you see a single person driving an SUV or truck at one point in time you just assume they have it for no legitimate purpose? I drive an extended GM suv and oftentimes I'm the only one inside it, but I use it 5 days out of the week for my business, hauling tons of merchandise and equipment around. You don't know what someone is using their vehicle for in the full scope of their ownership - only the split second you see them and you judge off that? On top of that everything you've said is presumptive, oversimplified and generalized nonsense, much like your sweeping judgment of truck owners. Like Anthony said, you have no clue what you're talking about.

    GM doesn't need to be compared to European cars, in fact its kind of an insult. It's like saying the older brother looks like the younger brother. It's the other way around. GM isn't like the European cars, the European cars are like GM. Just like Android isn't like an Apple, Apple copies Android.

      ***** I will admit the time from about the 80's to the late 2000's was not great for GM, but they are back way better. Well, GM is right up there in engineering, design, materials used, its just done in a different way. Ride quality? Several European manufactures have started using GM's magnetic ride because it is so much more advanced than anything they have. In my opinion, European cars are more at the extremes, you can buy an extremely great car, or something that is a flop. In America, I see the cars as being much more consistent, that you may not always get something spectacular, but you will always get something good/satisfactory, and never something that is total garbage. There are always exceptions.

    lol, All these people going "Oh this is such a scam this is that that is this what a waste 20k for an upgrade and a pully!" Lol, Bud, Hennessey makes the worlds fastest car, They know how to properly supply a car with power. Normal people don't go to Hennessey for a slight upgrade like this. But if you want a seriously upgraded car by people that know what they are doing and do it well, you go to these guys. Come on, use your brain.

    • @MrGaryGG48
      @MrGaryGG48 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What a lot of the critics don't acknowledge is that there is a very significant cost for the engineering to make all those upgrades work smoothly together. Theoretically, any kid with a pocket full of green backs can slap on a huge blower and get just as much power... for a short while! If you want reliability and a factory warranty, you certainly won't find it in your garage. If the peace of mind that usually goes with a valid warranty and a well engineered product don't matter, the $5K "in-the-garage-job" is definitely the way to go.

    • @TheDudeAr
      @TheDudeAr 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      No no, i'm just saying that for any job to be done by a shop, expect a much higher price than the parts themselves. Think of a head gasket job, A head gasket is 40 bucks, when in the end the cost would be around 2 grand, because of the time it takes to do such a job. Sometimes around 10 hours. What I am NOT saying is it is worth it, what I am saying is if you want a good price you have to do it yourself.
