the clone wars was basically the star wars equivalent of World War I. New technology meets old, traditional battle techniques and formations. the clones don't take cover very often, and frequent attack charges
That explains the iffy tactics and strategies of both sides. No one had fought in a galactic scale war in 1000 years so naturally, everyone will be rusty in how to properly fight in a full scale war. Even the Jedi were massively out of practice and struggled to adapt to their new environment. +XDJoker Ha Ha If Lucas told the creators of the show there was going to be a theatrical film and gave the them the proper resources. They could have created something spectacular. Instead converting a bunch of episodes meant for tv into a theatrical film at the last second. Oddly enough, those episodes are also some of the weakest for the entire show. I think lot of the money that the movie made in the box office went later towards producing the show. Which was really expensive. So it isn't all bad.
I know this is a 5+ year movie, but I just noticed the sound effect in 0:42 gives a pretty outstanding perspective at how immediate and coordinated the Clones and Jedi are to each other when adhering to combat commands.

God this brings back so many memories. I was 8 when this movie first aired, and all I wondered what is what happened during the clone wars after watching the movies when I was 6. Needless to say, this was the most perfect introduction.
And something to remember. Clones were apparently “A LITTLE TOO VICIOUS” for storm troopers so they had to be replaced because they were too OP. Plus the Chip kind of dumbed them down after it was used to execute Order 66. The chip not only mind controlled them, but it also kind of made them dumber like livening droids. BUT EVEN THEN they were still too malicious for the empire or at least for storm troopers. Up to the point where other storm troopers WERE TERRIFIED of the clone troopers in the storm trooper ranks. So that’s also a pretty cool fact.

Just realize how stupid the separatist general is portrayed to be: "Cannons?! This will never do." So his tanks and infantry were being continuously destroyed by huge explosions and he didn't know those were cannons until a droid told him.

If you boys didn't know, the Jet Troopers with Rex are actually Denal, Hardcase, Kix and Jesse. The two clones with 212th Markings at 2:53 are actually Waxer and Boil.
Wait... did you see that !!!! How at 2:23 did Cody move so quickly back to the defensive line when he was literally in the middle of the second wave of droids alongside Obi-Wan and the other clones ???!!!
1:55 anyone notice that clonetrooper actually almost replicate Wilhelm scream perfectly and his deed during the clone wars should be learned in the galaxy school textbook
and full frontal assault against AV-7 cannon operators who can aim (this sounds weird since this is star wars where nearly all cannon operators cant aim for shit) is suicidal.
To have destroyed those Separatist troops, surely it would have made sense to make such a debris field they can't get through, then shell them all when they're stuck.
Can we take a moment to talk about the storytelling in this scene alone. Bad army comes in full force. Our heroes rush into action making a quick plan. Our big hero The chosen one gathers one team to ambush the bad army while the rest of the army prepares for battle. The bad army closes in with their giant weaponized tanks and the hero’s army takes heavy loses in bad cover. The chosen one comes to the rescue finally to distract the giant enemy tanks just as they were about to overwhelm the hero’s army. With the enemy’s army’s giant tanks distracted, loyal hero’s army charges head first into into enemy fire to battle the enemy army on even footing now. Destruction and blood on both sides as both the enemy army and the hero’s army both suffer great loses until the chosen one destroys one of the enemies giant tank. All of the sudden the enemy army is disorganized as their prized giant tanks goes down like dominos. The chosen one then destroys the last of the enemy’s giant tanks allowing his loyal army to push into the enemy lines, causing the bad army to retreat and the battle is won by the hero’s.
Watching this as well as the First battle of Geonosis, it feels like the Clone Wars has many similarities to World War 1, especially how widescale the war was, the way the troops were fighting in the open with little cover, and the whole mechanization of a modern war. Not to mention running straight into enemy fire despite the overwhelming firepower being thrown at you. That's just how it looks to me.
i think the reason were the tri droids in the back, they weapon is strong enough to ignore cover and deal aoe damage, so by charging they can avoid being massacred by the tri droids I think this was the case of "which is the least worst choice of action"
*@ TCS SQUEAK* So basically, to the untrained eye, they would think the show got away with decapitation. And to much more scrutinizing viewers, they can take a good laugh at the animators' neat little trick there.
Great battle scene! I couldn't help noticing the clone at 3:02. It's as if he is just really bored and just wants something to do so he just gestures for the canons to fire although they were already firing
2:01 just look at obi wan during this whole scene, cody becomes the center of attention of the scene but god obi wan is giving it his all in the background
The clones here are maximum 10 years old while Anakin himself here is a venerated war hero at the age of 19. A lot of people thought that it was unrealistic, but I thought it was perfect. It showed just what a talented and amazing man Anakin was at such an early age. It really sells the tragedy of him falling to the dark side. It's almost Luciferian. The greatest and most wondrous of the Jedi fell from grace and into the depths of Hell he went. No one cares if Billy from down the street falls to the dark side. It isn't interesting or tragic. Of course some normie would. But this was *Anakin.* Hero of the Clone Wars. Inspiration to those around him and even us the viewers. Just his presence could give you a sense of hope and conviction that the battle wasn't lost. To see him and all his talent and soul twisted into the demonic Sith that he became is like a gut punch.

These 3 minutes and 48 seconds show more of what a war looks like than the entire sequel trilogy
Cringe.
Except the sequel trilogy is actually good. Unlike this movie.

Indeed
If you boys didn't know, the Jet Troopers with Rex are actually Denal, Hardcase, Kix and Jesse. The two clones with 212th Markings at 2:53 are actually Waxer and Boil.
0:38 and we never see those AT RTs or ARF troopers ever again...
Thx for uploading this, finally it can be watched in 1080p. :)
God this scene is so fucking awesome
Imagine being a clone trooper, and just hearing the sound of the droids marching towards you getting louder and louder
Wait... did you see that !!!! How at 2:23 did Cody move so quickly back to the defensive line
when he was literally in the middle of the second wave of droids alongside Obi-Wan and the other clones ???!!!
Rebels would never show a battle this crazy and brutal. This was amazing! RIP Clone Wars 2008-2014
Spartan Aviation ikr, because Disney own star wars
Spartan Aviation Good news man. The Clone Wars is back for one more season in 2019.
2008-2020
is this the only time Rex has ever used a DC-15? I'm so used to his dual pistols that I paused the vid to make sure it was him lol
I remember he also used one in The Hidden Enemy, which is a prequel to this movie.
Dude, I’m one of those people who can say I saw THIS movie in the theater.
Brings back memories
1:55 anyone notice that clonetrooper actually almost replicate Wilhelm scream perfectly and his deed during the clone wars should be learned in the galaxy school textbook
the full frontal assault reminds of pizzamovies lego star wars video.
and full frontal assault against AV-7 cannon operators who can aim (this sounds weird since this is star wars where nearly all cannon operators cant aim for shit) is suicidal.
I’ll always remember my dad taking myself and my brother to this as kids. Core memory..
Damn, Cody's a beast
And that plot Armour when he's in the open- damn
Christopher Weaver well he kinda needs it
2:01 - Commander Cody taking a page out of Captain Fordo's book.
Yes, I know Tartakovsky's Clone Wars aren't canon anymore, but I don't care.
Scenes like this just reminds me how much better the Clone Wars were as the setting for the new Battlefront game.....
Being in the infantry during a fight like this would be such a nightmare.
"Hello, master. Its been a while..."
That's just how it looks to me.
i think the reason were the tri droids in the back, they weapon is strong enough to ignore cover and deal aoe damage, so by charging they can avoid being massacred by the tri droids
I think this was the case of "which is the least worst choice of action"
2:01 Commander Cody goes straight up Savage mode, he’s like, “You killed my brothers, I’ll KILL YOU!”
BADASS 🔥🔥🔥
this battle was just griddy and i love it. That scene when that clone gets up and he get killed and his helmet fells off. just Damn.
1:40 wtf happened his head got shot off or just the helmet?
It was the head, surprisingly!
+KousakaDystopic He got shot at the body and the helmet fall of :)
*@ TCS SQUEAK*
So basically, to the untrained eye, they would think the show got away with decapitation.
And to much more scrutinizing viewers, they can take a good laugh at the animators' neat little trick there.
He got shot in the face and his helmet flew off.
helmet was blown off by the impact but that clone is still dead
Great battle scene! I couldn't help noticing the clone at 3:02. It's as if he is just really bored and just wants something to do so he just gestures for the canons to fire although they were already firing
Honestly I would’ve done that, probably made him feel badass.
0:20 Cody: Optimus Prime
He actually said up to the front but as a kid I also thought he said Optimus Prime. Lol
2:01 just look at obi wan during this whole scene, cody becomes the center of attention of the scene but god obi wan is giving it his all in the background
Those 3 on 0:37 just Charged like they're indestructible. The 2 blew up but what happened to the last one?
*ded* offscreen
Lúcifer has never the best
