Sidious and Dooku had to severely limit the fighting capabilities of the Separatists because of this. Letting intel get into enemy hands, sabotaging Separatist worlds, and especially sending Grievous out on witch hunts. Do you know what I just realized? Obiwan is one of the few Jedi who doesn’t have a named admiral aboard their flagship. Every other Jedi has an admiral except him.
Scenes like this, and several others show that Grievous is damn effective against a single jedi taskforce. People forget that whenever Grievous was being a coward, he was always against 2~3 top level jedi and basically outnumbered. On the Malevolence he was against Obiwan, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Plo Koon. On Felucia he was against Obiwan, Anakin, and Adi Galia - not to mention often being outnumbered in terms of firepower as well since, its basically 1 army vs 3.
And when the Gungans beat him, they had weapons that were able to disable his circuitry, he may be a cyborg, but he still has a mechanical body. Also, people forget that Jar Jar's traits don't represent every member of his species.
The problem that Obi had with this battle was that despite being a tactical genius in some cases of battle, he is not a fleet commander. If anything all Jedi are only ground commanders. It's weird seeing a Jedi without his assigned admiral at his side like how Anakin always had Yularen. The clones that served as deck officers could only do so much but without a proper admiral they were doomed.
That was a crushing victory for Grievous. Kenobi was forced to flee with his tail between his legs, and he barely even did any damage to Grievous outside of scuffing his armour's paint job.
2:18 you gotta respect the misplaced bravado of that one clone who, rather than try to run away from Grevious or go for the gunship turret behind him, instead attempted to jump tackle General Grevious. It ended very badly for him, but hey, points for trying.
3:28 that's the nicest yet General Grievous is to his droids without... 'parting' them aside ... I'd thought he'd be grumpy regardless and smash the droids heads whether victorious or not...
Something that I’ve considered is what if one was to make a twin linked small arm blaster that fires both barrels at the same time? That should in theory be able to take out a force user as long as they can’t do that thing where they just use the force to block the bolts.

Out of all his appearances in TCW, this is probably the closest he was to his 2003 counterpart. Not just from how efficiently and effortlessly he slaughters Clones, but him how he not only beats Obi-Wan 1v1 but straight up forces him to retreat.
He does it again in Crystal Crisis.
The clone pilots that had each others backs was pretty good to see, in my opinion.
According to Wookieepedia the one that died was named Killer and the one that crashed in the Hanger and survived is named Engle
2:52 *Evil laughter*
Grievous apparently always seems to be in a happy mood when he defeats someone XD
Cause he’s a psycho. He enjoys the slaughter and adding trophies to his collection of sabers. Classic serial killer.
3:00, Obi Wan: "Fall back! We are being overrun!" *Kenobi and Cody retreating while a couple of chad and nameless clones hold the line as best as possible*
More like 2:57 actually
RIP the clone whose throat got crushed. Didnt need to die tbh

2:12 when you forget your not legends grevious
??
Jotaro Kujo in Star Wars canon and Star Wars legends Grevious is a very different character. In legends Grevious could’ve easily taken the whole ship by himself
Actually Clone Wars is both canon and legends up to Season 5. It's only Season 6 and 7 that are strictly canon
@@maximus6844 Errr, nope. All clone wars is canon.
Juan Gracia Marques Yes, all of clone wars is canon. But Seasons 1-5 are canon & legends
Underrated part of the clone wars. It’s cool to see a smaller battle that isn’t the main focus of anything. Helps fill in the gaps and make the war seem more eventful
Damn, seeing the negotiator self-destruct is so painful yet beautifully cinematic!
3:37 Grivous turns around like saying “Not this again”
1:00 that bomber crew and that fighter pilot were very impressive. Such a shame they were outnumbered so much, otherwise they could have actually been the turning point in the battle.
That’s true
2:12 has Griveous giving off 2003 Grievous vibes, I love it
“You’ll regret r that”, just shows the friendship between the clones and Jedi
Which makes order 66 much sadder. They didn’t want to do it. They’re under mind control.
He didn’t even wait for Obi Wan’s message to finish playing. He just said “fuccck it “ 😂😂
This arc really was 'and now we interrupt this epic battle to return you to the adventures of some children'

The clone gunner died. The Y-Wing pilot named Engle survived.
1:24 There goes Killer
1:28 And there goes Engle
At least Engle was lucky enough to be one of the few Clone Pilots to survive a crash as you can see in 1:54
Wait how did he survive? And is he the dead guy on the ground next to a clone trooper operating a mini gun?
@@farahahmedkarim377 no that’s trooper also the canopy probably automatically blew of the viewport for him to crawl out

2:11 actually felt 2003 grevious in that attack
2:31 damn man, that was rude
Kenobi will remember that
2:53 They can shoot too?? I didnt know that...
Well they do what the Officers tell them to do
And in this situation it was shoot or die honestly they didnt have much choice
They just picked up a gun from one of their brothers
I mean, clone technicians aren't TRAINED for fighting but they still can lol. They probably had orders to stay and fight even though that's literally suicide since the ship explodes less then 2 minutes later ;-;
@@farahahmedkarim377 technically all clones are trained in combat it’s just the final test which determines which branch they go to so realistically every clone can fight
They shoot now ?

Even if Grievous didn't know
he would still survive the explosion somehow...he did survive before as an alien
And survived in space in episode 3

This is probably grievous’ best combat showing in this show

Rare moment where grevious actually feels intimidating in this show
Grevious: burity kills a clone
Obi wan: you'll regret that
+50 respect from the clones
fr
When you realise this is the one time Obi Wan has been visibly angry it just shows how much he cares for his clones
Do you know what I just realized?
Obiwan is one of the few Jedi who doesn’t have a named admiral aboard their flagship. Every other Jedi has an admiral except him.
Seeing how Obi-Wan caring for his troops adds even more insult to injury when you think about Order 66 and season 7 in general. 😭😭
Best episode ever
Damn I forgot how good this show is. That last 30 seconds is so fucking suspenseful and climax
Obi-Wan: "You'll regret that"
Me: *giggling intensely remembering Grievous burning from the inside out in ROTS*
2:28 look carefully at the clone standing to the right of Cody. Dude is equipped with the DC 17 ICWS blaster
Oh crap he is
Oh damn he is I thought only commandos have those
This short scene is quite entertaining and surprisingly layered. Such an incredible show.
I like that they went through to show every type of clone that was on the ship
2:55 always like seeing the ship crew being useful in the case of being boarded

I like playing that, easy XP. Unfortunately, it takes an hour to play a single round.
4:05 i feel bad for them tbh 😂
Well, that's the reason why they were wearing helmet.
Droids suffer too much in this show, it's hilarious and stupid at the same time.
2:23
i like how kenobi was focused on the clown under grevious's claw, really shows he cares about the clones under his command.
4:07 grievous: get out of my f***ing way

1:59 love that callback to phantom menace
3:28 that's the nicest yet General Grievous is to his droids without... 'parting' them aside ... I'd thought he'd be grumpy regardless and smash the droids heads whether victorious or not...
Something that I’ve considered is what if one was to make a twin linked small arm blaster that fires both barrels at the same time? That should in theory be able to take out a force user as long as they can’t do that thing where they just use the force to block the bolts.
I just love how Grievous doesn't give a shit about the droids in "his" droid army
Why would he, they're droids and not particularly unique ones either?
In a parallel universe:
*Obi Wan doesn't tell Grievous that the ship's about to blow up*
*Grievous blows up*
*"Directed by George Lucas"*
Grievous' armor resists starfighter volleys and even survived a planet's crust melting and collapsing
a starship blowing up around him won't kill him, and he doesn't need to breathe so he'd just float around in space until Separatist forces collected him
@@murderousintent7838 dunno man, I know grievous is badass but NOT THAT level of badass- im 70% sure a straight up starship blowing up on him while he's inside would turn him into a beans pasta
@@darky5335 I mean, we have direct evidence to what I said. An explosion that made a planet's crust melt and then surviving the subsequent collapse is way worse than a ship exploding
@@murderousintent7838 may you at least pass the source of this info- because even if this true, I no longer believe grievous would have lost to obi wan with that sheer amount of armor even considering he had organs exposed inside
@@darky5335 its two things, the comic Star Wars: General Grievous (happens at the end of the comic) and The Revenge Of The Sith novelization's description of the character

I feel so bad for those battle droids that we’re so close to safety
1:27 - 1:53 Now that’s how you make an entrance. One of my favorite Grevious moments
Honestly this whole sequence was very cool with Grievous the droids boarding Obi Wan’s venator. I just wish we would’ve had more scenes like it, or it could’ve been longer, maybe even a full episode dedicated to something like this

After watching the bad batch and listening to Commander Mayday, it makes me think that the clones are filled with regret.
lel: "we're being overrun! PUSH FORWARD!"
I like to think kenobi had that message prepared several months in advance just in case something like this happened
Did you notice, over the series, every time they fought, Grievous has gotten better against Kenobi? Getting more hits in with each battle, forcing him to retreat here and even defeating him in the comics as well as the unfinished crystal arch. If Windu hadn't crushed his chest, their final battle may have gone much differently.
Yes
I absolutely adore that one cut scene where Grievous defeats Kenobi in seconds flat, it was from that final utapau arc that was unfortunately cut
