Also, ventress is not near (and never will be) even close to Sidious level powerful, so Dooku really couldn't have defeated Sidious with her. Also, Dooku still needed Sidious to continue the clone war just as much as Sidious needed Dooku

It's focuses on a preteen (10-12) Ventress. We also see him train her and what values he teaches her. We notice how the jedi dont come to rescue them and see them win a couple battles against the pirates before his death. Then we notice some local gangs take her in for a bit. But these gangs defend the city against pirates and are like the swoop gang in KOTOR. Then it the next 10 minutes show her relationship with them as an older teen(17-19) and then a local aggressive faction attacks them. Which is a group of raiders who terrorize local cities and villages. They kill many people including her mentor and defeat the swoop gang. Some of the members help her escape. To make matters worse, they are led by a Fallen jedi who is a 8 ft tall muscular alien who has a long orange lightsaber and force choke. Ventress goes into exile for a bit but , also trains to sharpen her combat kills. She goes on a several missions as a bounty hunter (but we only see her go on one for like 5 minutes). About a year has passed in the story during this time and then the raiders attack again. Ventress is fed up sand decides its time to stop running. This is a smaller battle than the one she fled and she takes out several mercs with her dual green lightsabers. Then the fallen jedi leader (who is in his thirties) fights Ventress briefly before beating her in battle but, she manages to escape but losses her master's lightsaber in the process. One of Ventress's friends is also captured. Ventress meets up with the leader of a faction she knew before. She reminds the leader that he owes Ventress for a favor she once did for him. They help Ventress attack the raider outposts and Ventress uses her great piloting skills to wreck havoc on them and has teams of other pilots help her from the local faction. Ventress then raids one of the facilities and gets important info about where her friend is. Her friend is in the main base and Ventress wants to end the dispute. A tough last battle ensues. Ventress retrieves her lost lightsaber ehie infiltrating the raider base and kills one of the raider leaders who uses a bunch of gadgets in the fight and has a couple hounds help him in the fight. Then Ventress finds her other lightsaber and moves to rescue her friend. Ventress encounters the Fallen jedi and they fight again. After a brutal 8 minute fight, Ventress defeats him. Her allies destroy the base after tough losses. But they find great riches that were looted by the raiders. Ventress convinces the raiders to take the hidden mineral reserves and weapons to enrich themselves but to return the stolen credits to the villiages they raided.
The 2nd film would be during the early CW where Ventress fights classic Episode 2 style clones with episode 2 rank system. She also fights a local loyalist faction. Kills a jedi knight and his padawan in one brief battle (but she is conflicted at the time but was told to leave no survivors). Uses her piloting skills to attack Republic forces. We also see Dooku train and talk to Ventress. Then Ventress talks to a CIS admiral and they have a philosophical debate. Ventress gets lonely being around droids or alone all the time. She then gets sent on a special mission in a grassland planet. Ventress gets in a huge space battle between acclamators and droid control ships. With Repubic b wings vs droid starfighters. Ventress helps take down the Republic fleet and coordinates with the admiral. Then Ventress attacks the Republic base which is protected by a planetary shield that protects it from orbital bombaardment and has to step in as CIS general. AATs engage Republic light walkers and take them out because they are slow and easy targets. ATTEs take out the AATs who miss many shots. Ventress has a fit then kills the commander battle droid and springs a trap where hailfire droids destroy the ATTEs. Clone rocket troopers take out the hailfire droids. Clones with blaster rifles move in behind them. Ventress uses battle and super battle droids right away with sniper and dwarf spider droids to give them a kick and they initially overwhelm the clones. Many of Ventress's droids are countered by Jedi master Tholme and a squad of Alpha ARC troopers. Ventress springs a trap to counter them with droidekas and jetpack super battle droids. A couple arcs fall in battle the other 3 fight on. Then Ventress engages Tholme in an intense battle but beats him. Tholme stands down and Ventress kills him anyway. The dark side has increased her blood lust. She pushes on and finishes off the last of the ARCs who are pinned down. Then Ventress orders the droids to push forward. They breach the clone base and overwhelm them with ease. Ventress kills the clone commander. The last film will be about Dark Disciple

He also speaks with her on occasion. Over time he calmed her down. Final straw was Anakin beating her hard. Then gave her a serious talk ultimately getting across she simply is a pawn and needs to stop.
I love how you can hear the regret in Dooku’s voice when he told Asajj Ventress that she’ll die. He seemed to actually care for her as a pupil but his immense fear of Sidious overlapped it.
Darth sidious is nothing but a coward and idiot. And you know what Luke was right he did failed he failed to take loyalty for his allies more carefully.
This seems like one of the few mistakes Palpatine made. He sacrificed a really good asset for an apprentice he would just kill anyway. Not to mention Ventress caused them a lot of trouble later.
Not really due to him making Dooku dump Ventress, Palpatine was able to discover where the Nightsisters were and destroy them along with Mother Talzin, and he weakened all of Mandolore because Talzin had Savage ressurrect Maul who then took over Mandolore which gave Sidious an excuse to have the entire Mandolore system under Imperial control. He took out two boss factions in the Nightsisters and Mandolorians by having Dooku dump Ventress.
Sidious is truly brilliant. As the previous comment mentioned, Sidious ended up taking down 3 major factions: The Mandalorians, the Night Sisters, and the Hutt Clan. He sent the Republic after the Mandalorians, the CIS after the Nightsisters, and the later Galactic Empire after the Hutts.
No he knew Ventress was a potential threat to his standing as Sith Master He only allowed Ventress to be trained by Dooku as an assassin. But Dooku trained her too well, she’s powerful enough to take on Jedi Knights and Masters In Rebels, outside the Grand Inquisitor, fans complain the other Inquisitors to be weak. It’s because they’re supposed to be. They’re not meant to be powerful, merely assassins and trackers to do tasks for the Sith Ventress being able to take on the likes of Anakin as a Jedi Knight, is sign she’s getting too powerful and a threat to Sidious as Dooku has the apparent ambition to overthrow him So Sidious gave Dooku a choice to either remain loyal to him or die with Ventress As for the War, remember the Clone Wars is a sham war to help Palpatine become Emperor legally. It’s easier to have Dooku and Grevious eliminated at the end of the War, than Ventress would be anyway If she gotten More powerful. So it really doesn’t matter how successful the CIS would be anyway as they’re meant to be destroyed anyway, and any remaining Jedi would be killed off in Order 66 and the Jedi Purge anyway. And Palpatine sought Anakin as his ultimate servant anyway, as the War was also meant to draw Anakin to the Dark Side anyway.
Dooku didn't want to betray Ventress. If she were anyone else, he would have done so without hesitation but he protested when Darth Sidious ordered him to kill her and even stated "She is quite important to me". Also have you guys noticed that he looked away from her at 1.30 as if he's ashamed of himself? The nickname "Child" implies that he sees her as a kind of surrogate daughter. No matter how bad a father figure he is, it clearly wasn't easy for him to betray her. What I like about Dooku is that, even though he's a Sith, you still get glimpses of the Jedi he once was. He's much more human than Darth Sidious or Darth Vader, who are both little more than monsters. Dooku doesn't have the yellow eyes that most other Sith have and his reaction to Jango Fett's death and his respect for Obi-Wan, whom he has described as "practically my grandson" (read the Revenge of the Sith novel to find that quote) are other implications that he's not entirely evil. Darth Vader wasn't entirely evil either but honestly I think Dooku deserved redemption more than Vader did. At least Dooku didn't go around murdering children, killing people just because he was annoyed and blowing up planets. In Dooku's last moments I can even feel sorry for him whereas I wish Vader had gone to hell when he died.
I wouldn't say he wouldn't hesitate on anyone else. If it was General Grievous he was trying to get rid of, Dooku probably wouldn't do it, because Grievous has gave the Separatist many wins and many dead Jedi.

Sidious was right. Ventress really HAS grown in power if she is able to DOUBLE force choke Anakin and Obi-Wan at the same time. People do not give her enough credit.
Keep in mind she also helped train savage . She also stood her ground against Grevious. She is insanely powerful and is almost equal if not better than maul in his prime

3:19 The fight choreography here is AMAZING at showing the differences between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Anakin is rash and doesn’t stop charging and swinging at Ventress, while Obi Wan takes his time and plans out each of his moves. So while Anakin swings more frequently, all of Obi Wan’s moves count for a lot more than his.
Anakin is a form V user and Obi wan is a form 3 so it makes sense. Form three is more about defense and holding out until you find an opening. Form five is about overwhelming and dominating your opponent.
LOL why would it have changed at all? ALOT of the aspects of 2008 Clone Wars is BASED on 2003 clone wars as the Artstyle for 2008's is a 3D animated version of the Genndy's 2D artstyle.
You can see her power double when Dooku dumps her. Another huge disappointment in a life of disappointment and abandonment. She broke through both of their shields and had them. All the rage of a lifetime focused into two speartips. She wouldn't have remained that powerful as her emotions cooled but in the moment she was STRONG with the dark side. She was always an easy character to have sympathy for, way back to the SJ clone wars.
I call that part bad writing tbh. Dooku is more powerful than ventress and he couldn’t even choke them like that. In ROTS he had help from palpatine when he broke obi wans shield and threw him at the railing
Cornered and injured, she rallied her anger and outrage at being abandoned by her master.. Cornered enemies can be the most dangerous after all. Still, she was unable to maintain the hold over both of them for more than a couple seconds. Ventress was an interesting case to me. I wonder if she had been Sidious' apprentice, how far would she have progressed? But I imagine Sidious likely didn't want to elevate anyone associated with the night sisters after Darth Maul's failure on Naboo.
One of the best scenes of Season 3. One of the best space battles starting from this episode ! The tipping destiny when Ventress Dooku, his Master betrays her. She is no longer an Separatist. This is nonetheless ignoble, on behalf Dooku, betraying her well, after everything she has done for him.

2:50 no one actually sees the pain Ventress is going through. She probably had a few ribs shattered from the crash as well as the psychological trauma of being dejected from the sith.

Dooku has had always plans of overthrowing his master in mind, cause Dooku understands the dark side unlike Ventress or Maul which brings me to the next point; Ventress was very strong with the force but lacked knowledge of the dark side, therefore she was loyal to Dooku, that make her a perfekt tool for Dooku to use against Sidious and overthrow him, Sidious was aware of it, that's imo why he demanded her extermination.
No wonder she was able to choke both Anakin and Obi Wan at once. Imagine the whirlwind of rage and other emotions running through her head after getting abandoned and left for dead

That Hyena Bomber lets Ventress alive. Warning: Spoiler! She desides to attack Dooku, but she failed. She finds Savage Opress. Then Savage finds Darth Maul. Then Rebels comes up, and Maul makes Kanan blind. So, because of the Hyena Bomber, Kanan is blind now.
This is what I love about the expression on the dominos effect Dooku basnishes Ventress, Ventress then join the night sister, then Ventress and the Night sisters make Savage Oppress, Savage temporarily becomes Dooku's apprentice, Savage fails, Savage finds Maul, Maul is back for revenge, Maul teams up with Death Watch, They become crimson Dawn, Maul takes over Mandalore, Savage dies to Sideous and Maul battles Ahsoka for Mandalore Not that's what I call a domino effect!!

I always thought that if Ventress would have surrendered and explained the situation there, she could have hurt Count Dooku and the separatists quite a lot by just revealing critical informations to the jedi. But of course in that case Sidious would have had her finished off very quickly.
I wish that instead of Sidious telling Dooku to kill Ventress because she was “too powerful,” Dooku actually wanted her offed because of her failures. All we saw on-screen was Ventress fail time and again.
You almost forget just how formidable Ventress was... holding her own against two of the eras greatest Jedi Knights. Kinda explains why she had to die, there can only be two, and there is no place for one as powerful as she among the Inquisitors.

I felt really bad for Ventress her entire life has been one big tragedy and betrayal after the other. I was honestly rooting for her in this fight even though I knew the heroes would win she was a wounded animal, cornered fighting for survival.
It also shows how the Jedi place more value on fighting and less on helping, if Anakin kept his mouth shut, Kenobi could have negotiated something, perhaps helped her turn away from the Sith, perhaps got some useful information, I honestly think she suffered more than Anakin if they weren't enemies they could have related to each other a lot, perhaps been friends.

Hold up. Ventress had 1 Province, about 2 Recuscants, and about 6 Munificent warships on her side. Versus about 3 to 5 Venators. How did she lose? And the worse part is, Dooku decides to sacrifice the Providence warship, one of their stronger warships, just to kill some idiots.
you miss the part at 3:04, that's friendly fire. obviously dooku wanted to make sure ventress didn't survive, even though she definitely would've lost on a completely level field.
Ventress was easily second favorite character from the non-OT after Ahoska. She could've always stood on her own, and that was proven when she lost everything after the massacre on Dathomir. And that newer side of her, leading up to the DD novel, gave her character a more fluid disposition. It's not just going from dark to light like Anakin Skywalker's redemption in ROTJ; she's not really a "hero". But she's not a one-dimensional evil villain anymore either.

He hinted at it to Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones, and even said it again in their final encounter in this series.
If Dooku wanted to beat Sidious, he would never have become a Sith in the first place. Once he did everything had fallen into place.

Then Ventress finds her other lightsaber and moves to rescue her friend.
Ventress encounters the Fallen jedi and they fight again. After a brutal 8 minute fight, Ventress defeats him. Her allies destroy the base after tough losses. But they find great riches that were looted by the raiders. Ventress convinces the raiders to take the hidden mineral reserves and weapons to enrich themselves but to return the stolen credits to the villiages they raided.

The 2nd film would be during the early CW where Ventress fights classic Episode 2 style clones with episode 2 rank system. She also fights a local loyalist faction. Kills a jedi knight and his padawan in one brief battle (but she is conflicted at the time but was told to leave no survivors). Uses her piloting skills to attack Republic forces.
We also see Dooku train and talk to Ventress. Then Ventress talks to a CIS admiral and they have a philosophical debate. Ventress gets lonely being around droids or alone all the time. She then gets sent on a special mission in a grassland planet.
Ventress gets in a huge space battle between acclamators and droid control ships. With Repubic b wings vs droid starfighters. Ventress helps take down the Republic fleet and coordinates with the admiral.
Then Ventress attacks the Republic base which is protected by a planetary shield that protects it from orbital bombaardment and has to step in as CIS general. AATs engage Republic light walkers and take them out because they are slow and easy targets. ATTEs take out the AATs who miss many shots. Ventress has a fit then kills the commander battle droid and springs a trap where hailfire droids destroy the ATTEs. Clone rocket troopers take out the hailfire droids. Clones with blaster rifles move in behind them.
Ventress uses battle and super battle droids right away with sniper and dwarf spider droids to give them a kick and they initially overwhelm the clones. Many of Ventress's droids are countered by Jedi master Tholme and a squad of Alpha ARC troopers.
Ventress springs a trap to counter them with droidekas and jetpack super battle droids. A couple arcs fall in battle the other 3 fight on. Then Ventress engages Tholme in an intense battle but beats him.
Tholme stands down and Ventress kills him anyway. The dark side has increased her blood lust. She pushes on and finishes off the last of the ARCs who are pinned down.
Then Ventress orders the droids to push forward. They breach the clone base and overwhelm them with ease. Ventress kills the clone commander.
The last film will be about Dark Disciple

I love how you can hear the regret in Dooku’s voice when he told Asajj Ventress that she’ll die. He seemed to actually care for her as a pupil but his immense fear of Sidious overlapped it.

This seems like one of the few mistakes Palpatine made. He sacrificed a really good asset for an apprentice he would just kill anyway. Not to mention Ventress caused them a lot of trouble later.
Not really due to him making Dooku dump Ventress, Palpatine was able to discover where the Nightsisters were and destroy them along with Mother Talzin, and he weakened all of Mandolore because Talzin had Savage ressurrect Maul who then took over Mandolore which gave Sidious an excuse to have the entire Mandolore system under Imperial control.
He took out two boss factions in the Nightsisters and Mandolorians by having Dooku dump Ventress.
Sidious is truly brilliant. As the previous comment mentioned, Sidious ended up taking down 3 major factions: The Mandalorians, the Night Sisters, and the Hutt Clan. He sent the Republic after the Mandalorians, the CIS after the Nightsisters, and the later Galactic Empire after the Hutts.

In Rebels, outside the Grand Inquisitor, fans complain the other Inquisitors to be weak. It’s because they’re supposed to be. They’re not meant to be powerful, merely assassins and trackers to do tasks for the Sith
Ventress being able to take on the likes of Anakin as a Jedi Knight, is sign she’s getting too powerful and a threat to Sidious as Dooku has the apparent ambition to overthrow him
So Sidious gave Dooku a choice to either remain loyal to him or die with Ventress
As for the War, remember the Clone Wars is a sham war to help Palpatine become Emperor legally. It’s easier to have Dooku and Grevious eliminated at the end of the War, than Ventress would be anyway If she gotten More powerful.
So it really doesn’t matter how successful the CIS would be anyway as they’re meant to be destroyed anyway, and any remaining Jedi would be killed off in Order 66 and the Jedi Purge anyway. And Palpatine sought Anakin as his ultimate servant anyway, as the War was also meant to draw Anakin to the Dark Side anyway.
Dooku didn't want to betray Ventress. If she were anyone else, he would have done so without hesitation but he protested when Darth Sidious ordered him to kill her and even stated "She is quite important to me". Also have you guys noticed that he looked away from her at 1.30 as if he's ashamed of himself? The nickname "Child" implies that he sees her as a kind of surrogate daughter. No matter how bad a father figure he is, it clearly wasn't easy for him to betray her. What I like about Dooku is that, even though he's a Sith, you still get glimpses of the Jedi he once was. He's much more human than Darth Sidious or Darth Vader, who are both little more than monsters. Dooku doesn't have the yellow eyes that most other Sith have and his reaction to Jango Fett's death and his respect for Obi-Wan, whom he has described as "practically my grandson" (read the Revenge of the Sith novel to find that quote) are other implications that he's not entirely evil. Darth Vader wasn't entirely evil either but honestly I think Dooku deserved redemption more than Vader did. At least Dooku didn't go around murdering children, killing people just because he was annoyed and blowing up planets. In Dooku's last moments I can even feel sorry for him whereas I wish Vader had gone to hell when he died.

Anakin is rash and doesn’t stop charging and swinging at Ventress, while Obi Wan takes his time and plans out each of his moves. So while Anakin swings more frequently, all of Obi Wan’s moves count for a lot more than his.
Anakin is a form V user and Obi wan is a form 3 so it makes sense. Form three is more about defense and holding out until you find an opening. Form five is about overwhelming and dominating your opponent.

You can see her power double when Dooku dumps her. Another huge disappointment in a life of disappointment and abandonment. She broke through both of their shields and had them. All the rage of a lifetime focused into two speartips. She wouldn't have remained that powerful as her emotions cooled but in the moment she was STRONG with the dark side. She was always an easy character to have sympathy for, way back to the SJ clone wars.

I always thought that if Ventress would have surrendered and explained the situation there, she could have hurt Count Dooku and the separatists quite a lot by just revealing critical informations to the jedi. But of course in that case Sidious would have had her finished off very quickly.
I wish that instead of Sidious telling Dooku to kill Ventress because she was “too powerful,” Dooku actually wanted her offed because of her failures. All we saw on-screen was Ventress fail time and again.

I felt really bad for Ventress her entire life has been one big tragedy and betrayal after the other. I was honestly rooting for her in this fight even though I knew the heroes would win she was a wounded animal, cornered fighting for survival.
It also shows how the Jedi place more value on fighting and less on helping, if Anakin kept his mouth shut, Kenobi could have negotiated something, perhaps helped her turn away from the Sith, perhaps got some useful information, I honestly think she suffered more than Anakin if they weren't enemies they could have related to each other a lot, perhaps been friends.

Hold up. Ventress had 1 Province, about 2 Recuscants, and about 6 Munificent warships on her side. Versus about 3 to 5 Venators. How did she lose? And the worse part is, Dooku decides to sacrifice the Providence warship, one of their stronger warships, just to kill some idiots.
you miss the part at 3:04, that's friendly fire. obviously dooku wanted to make sure ventress didn't survive, even though she definitely would've lost on a completely level field.
Ventress was easily second favorite character from the non-OT after Ahoska. She could've always stood on her own, and that was proven when she lost everything after the massacre on Dathomir. And that newer side of her, leading up to the DD novel, gave her character a more fluid disposition. It's not just going from dark to light like Anakin Skywalker's redemption in ROTJ; she's not really a "hero". But she's not a one-dimensional evil villain anymore either.
