That looks killer! Happy Birthday dude. Tomorrow morning I have an appointment at the local Subie dealer. Test driving a 2020 WRX Premium with a short throw shifter. It’s red. I want to put on the carbon fiber STI wing spoiler from Subiespeed. Then maybe some more carbon fiber accents like mirrors and hood scoop trim. I can’t wait!
This looks great with the paint color! Mine is on its way. I do want to comment/question something... at 7:24, I can see a pretty significant gap between the bottom of the duckbill and the trunk. Is the tape causing this? I love how easy the install is with tape, but if it creates any sort of gap, I don't want to use it and just go with mounting with screws instead. Any input is appreciated!
Was there a wait on this item? I have been trying to order the OLM A1 aggressive Carbon Fiber hood scoop since Summer 2020 and it is ALWAYS OUT OF STOCK!
That's why I drove 2 screws in along wit the tape. Some ppl say the 3m tape is enough, I'm not gonna b the one to test that theory, I wouldnt take that chance with a $400 Dbill.
I did this install with the rexpeed carbon fiber bill. I'm telling you right now the 3M tape is not going to be enough to hold that spoiler on, you only put the 3M tape on the edges you put it in the middle or anywhere else it's not going to fit right. You have to put at least two screws in the back, when you do it hold the spoiler with one hand, and screw it in with the other but do it gently, you will feel the screws going through the carbon fiber, trust me I did this install by myself, and my spoiler has been on my car now for 3 months and hasn't moved. You don't have to use a designated panel Wipe, that gtechniq..was prob $20.. go to a drug store and buy at least 70% isopropyl alchohol.$2.. clean the trunk really well, get all the dirt and debris off , wipe the spoiler itself. Obviously it's a lot easier with two people, but if you're by yourself, it won't come with directions, if you spend $400 like I did, you don't want to make any mistakes, imo thats a lot of bread, by the Unlucky chance that it flies off or you make some kind of mistake, I doubt you will get your money back or a new one , and you're going to kick yourself in the ass. I completely agree with Kevin, make sure, don't leave anything to chance, when it comes to parts that are this expensive. if anybody needs any help or tips hit me up on my Ig @steelerwave89...good shit though
@@emmvnuel1617 ..hey bro. That's a good question, only because it's been so long since I did the install, I'm pretty sure I used the factory holes, cause I didnt hav a bit to go through the metal. If u hav factory holes, I would use them. What I did is, I used a washer wit the screws for a better hold. Jus drive it through kinda slow, I wouldnt suggest powering it in cause u never know, if it cracks how far a crack would run. I jus placed my left hand on the spoiler., drove it in with my right...jus do it carefully.
Holy crap that is a lot of tape! You could hang the whole car off of that.
Been eyeing this for a while... Might have to grab one after seeing this. Looks so good on the MGM
Been watching this video continuously while waiting for my duckbill to arrive 😂

Possibly the sickest rice mod any enthusiast can do to their cars for a first to do on that list 😁
Whats that gap on the right?? 6min59.
Bad installation or 3m doesnt stick well?
Where did you buy this from !!! seen it on the blue and that’s the look I want !!! Please drop the link soon as possible bro !!
I noticed you didn't cover any of the extra oem holes. Have you had any issues with leaking inside the trunk at all?
0 leaking

Awesome vid!!
What website did you get it from
This the v 2?
How does it keep up at high speeds with just the 3m tape?

BTW, be ready to pay about $400 for a carbon fiber one , that's what mine was from Rally Sport , I don't regret spending the money at all
Did you drill new holes when you screwed it in, or you used the factory holes? I wanna use screws also for mine but avoid having to drill the trunk

What type of screws did you use? Cause im the same dont wanna try the 3m efficiency!
so you only used tape? u didn’t use screws?
Yep! Just tape.
I got no screws; mine been on over 2 1/2 years. Heavy snow and high temperatures, no worries
