I had some of that 3M VHB tape at work and decided to play a prank on my friend, so I used it to tape his computer mouse onto his desk. Everyone knew I had done it, and we were all waiting for him to try to move the mouse. Finally, around 11AM, he finally tried to move it and of course it went nowhere. We all had a good laugh as we watched him try to pry it from the desk. It really took a lot of work to get it off. Better living through chemistry!

Fast forward a few months and I am the proud owner of 15 wrx 6 speed. I subscribed and plan on using this video to install that exact spoiler. Thanks, Eric

Hey man! No, I never had any issues with leaks. The car was garaged though. I took a hose to the trunk and ran water over it for a few minutes and I didn’t see any leaks.
It held up pretty well! I didn’t bother removing it when I sold the car since it was pretty much bonded on there. The fact that this spoiler uses nuts/bolts makes it even better.
Hey! Love your install. i noticed you didn't do anything extra to cover the outermost holes on the edges. I kinda missed that step too. Are you able to tell if water found its way inside? I know the 3M tape isn't completely waterproof so.
Since I followed the proper procedure of applying the 3M tape, I’m pretty confident that it will hold up against the elements. It was a concern though! I usually check the trunk after heavy rain and there seems to be no seepage. Thanks so much for watching!
Have you had any problems with the glue from the tape coming off with water and streaking on the car? Ever since time I wash my car and it dries it leaves streaks and I have to remove it with alcohol
Hey I just put mine in today and it looks good but, I noticed it’s not perfectly flush with the trunk, I kinda feel it may be because of the tape but it just makes it look like it has a tiny gap.
Dang, sorry to hear that. I think the 2020 WRX’s are magnetite gray (mgm) as opposed to the previous years’ gray so I wouldn’t be surprised if the duckbill’s paint was off.

That’s awesome! This spoiler is still solid. No cracks, paint is still fresh, and no leaks. Absolutely no issues.

Your engine sounds kinda funny. Check your TGVs.

Glue from the old spoiler? No issues with mine. I cleaned it when I removed it the first time.
Did you drill out your tow hook cover for a cleaner look? Is there a template or measurement for the hole?
Nope, I just removed the bumper hole cover.
Damn what the hell. When trying to getthe OEM spoilerbolts out, one of them seems to have be spinning but not coming out :(
Ah, it’s probably spinning from the spoiler side. Maybe push a bit on the spoiler and then try to remove the bolt?

Mine is the same exact way. I literally hosed the trunk down with water to check for any leaks but there weren’t any.

In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with gray or black since your car is gray. Me personally I would get the gray one to match the car entirely.
