I started following Angelina after I saw her audition for Norway's Got Talent. This particular song should go #1 in my opinion. I love her covers of classic Jazz, her originals... Oh let's face it, I love them all but this one is perfection.
I don't know if you've done this, Harri .. but watch it once all the way through .. literally all the way .. listening with care to every word .. every word ..without opening eyes until there is no more sound. It is an experience you won't expect. She is insanely brilliant how Angelina truly embodied this song. Hearing it this way is an experience nobody should miss. It truly helped me understand why her mother put a stop or a hold on her singing it. .. although now that it's been out and we've all loved it it might happen that she'll get to do it again .. it's not only a gift to have such a fantastic voice. the gift is that a girl like her are going puplic at the age of 7 the next gift is that she is very protected and supported by her fam. at her performence - the norway got talent auditution - back stage you can see the wake up call for her mom. but the truly gift is her grandma because she has seen her talent at a very young age. the video of her first visit in a music recording studio at the age of 6 shows the little pearl in this shell she has... i hope you can understand my bad english comment.

She is extremely quick at changing pitch at full volume, almost no gap between notes. Where other average singers might need 100 microseconds to change from an A3 to a C3 at full volume perfect pitch, and well trained and practiced singers can do it in 10 microseconds, which is noticeable even for amateur listeners, Angelina can do it in 2 or 3 microseconds, and it is noticeable even to my largely untrained musical sense. One of the abilities Angelina perfected while her brain was still at the malleable rapid-development stage re how tight to run the muscles holding the vocal chords to produce a specific note.

I only discovered Angelina very recently,she moved me like never before,a special person/talent.only aged 10 when recorded this amazing, my no 1 so far,she is now aged 16 and her family are keeping a lid on things,there are many artists with good voices who don't make it ,it would be a disaster if Angelina also failed ,it all depends on the songs ,for me this is the type of material she should be recording I'm sure there is even better to come ,but I have to be patient, her record company and family are correct in not doing things to quickly.

Brandon Lowery, aka Sterling Fox, aka Baby Fuzz, was the primary writer of this song when he was attending a songwriting camp in Oslo. He tried, unsuccessfully to get someone to record it before finally decided to record it himself. At some point, while he was trying to get it recorded, someone got Angelina to record this as a demo. A lot of people seem to believe Angelina's family didn't like the lyrics, believing they referred to suicide. They really don't. And she did change the lyrics to eliminate the F-word, so she could have made other changes if they felt that was necessary. It's more likely a rights issue. Nice reaction, Harri. Yes, her eleventh year (when she was 10) was a watershed year for her. I think it was her confidence that emerged fully. She has never been nervous performing, but was not always sure she could produce what she wanted to. Being 10 somehow changed that, and this song is a great example.

As you said, Angelina destroys this one (especially the bridge)!... but I think she likewise excels in the bridge of "Shield", "Million Miles", and a few others also. Part of the surprise that she nearly always brings one way or another! Makes us always want more!

You can't really call this a cover of the Baby Fuzz version, since Angelina recorded this about a year before Baby Fuzz. The urban myth surrounding this song is crazy! Brandon Lowery, aka Sterling Fox, aka Baby Fuzz, was the primary writer of this song when he was attending a songwriting camp in Oslo. He tried, unsuccessfully to get someone to record it before finally decided to record it himself. At some point, while he was trying to get it recorded, someone got Angelina to record this as a demo.
A lot of people seem to believe Angelina's family didn't like the lyrics, believing they referred to suicide. They really don't. And she did change the lyrics to eliminate the F-word, so she could have made other changes if they felt that was necessary. It's more likely a rights issue.

1 - The owner of this song is the lyric writer, Brandon Lowery, also known as Sterling Fox, also known as Baby Fuzz
2 - The demo was made right after the songwriting session, Brandon Lowery met Angelina at the house of one of the song's co-writers.
3 - The demo leaked just before Brandon Lowery released the song with another arrangement himself, revealing the other co-writers' contrary opinion, hoping to release it with Angelina, and changing the lyrics on the problematic part was the right thing to do. .
4 - The last part of the song promotes suicide, in the mold of John's baptism, by drowning in a river, a really problematic lyric that does not add support from any record company or singer.

I almost feel a little sad that I like this so much, as jazz is her wheelhouse, and she has so many incredible performances in that genre. But truth be told, every time she takes a step outside that circle, it ends up jawdroppingly good. She's even ventured into EDM at one stage, and THAT performance, too, is something to behold. Like so many comment here, the song you just reacted to is shrouded in mystery, and I have heard several claims of holding the truth over the years. All that aside, the performance stands. And it stands rock solid.

Yes, her eleventh year (when she was 10) was a watershed year for her. I think it was her confidence that emerged fully. She has never been nervous performing, but was not always sure she could produce what she wanted to. Being 10 somehow changed that, and this song is a great example.
Excellent reaction and in a way you can say it is an Angelina original, It was leaked before the writer of the song released his recording of it. Purely perfection on the Mastery Level of singing maybe only about 20 singers ever had existed or exists and she was 10! God Bless
Her vocals are amazing. Lacking in emotional depth because she's just 10! I can't imagine what she's going to sound like when she hits her twenties!
