Would be cool if Angelina was surprise singer at the Grammys and could sing this or one of her own. We could all watch it live as we saw thousands of jaws hit the floor then get the standing ovation that she deserves and would instantly send her career into the stratosphere.

There is lot of misinformation about this song that is floating around.
What we know for sure is that Brandon Lowry (Baby FuZZ) wrote this song with Frida Amundsen, Aksel Carlson,and Ronny Janssen. A demo was produced but not released by Baby FuZZ. The song was shopped around to different artists for possible recording. Angelina recorded a demo but also did not release it. It was leaked by someone who managed to access the computer file where it was stored. Baby FuZZ heard Angelina's demo only after it was leaked. All the talk about the suicide lyrics is nothing but speculation. Neither Angelina or anyone associated with her indicated that. Baby FuZZ in an interview said that there were no discussions about the song between him and Angelina's team. He was getting lots of abuse on TH-cam for the mistaken belief that he prevented her from changing the lyrics. He was very impressed by her performance but threatened to block the song if the online abuse continued which he really didn't want to do that because he supports young and upcoming artists. When no real interest was shown by any artist to record this song, he recorded it himself and released it. We probably can say that he covered his own song. LOL.
We are grateful to him for not blocking Angelina's demo.
What is the reason that Angelina didn't release this song? We will never know unless she or her manager say why.

I did take a screenshot of one of his replies;
"I'm sorry, but you are mistaken. The song was written by myself and 3 others in Norway and we made all the parts and sounds from scratch.
Anything on the Angelina demo other than her vocal was taken from our original demo and leaked onto the internet without permission by a third party. I'm definitely a fan of hers after hearing it, and have chosen not to copyright strike the video because I support young artists. Although if I keep getting hateful messages from misinformed people every day, I will have no choice but to remove her versions from online. I hope you can understand and relax. Thanks"
Also in an interview he said that were no discussion between him and Angelina's team about releasing the song.
Hope this puts to rest that the "suicidal lyrics" and Baby FuzZ refusal to let her change the lyrics were the reasons for her not releasing the song.

Superb, and rings true. Thanks. My guess is that not releasing this was a combination of a) not fitting into her parents vision of her career development ("holding the brakes" in her mother's words) and b) perhaps not fitting grandma Mery's vision of her vocal development(??).

I totally understand her family not releasing this because socially 10 is such a youngster. And this song while insanely great oh my goshhhh phew… she is musically far beyond her years. Personally I think it is vital not to expose her to too much. And as a result she remains unspoiled and instead of too much she has enough space to mature as she needs to. In her own time. ANGELINAS performance was leaked around a month before baby fuzz releasd his , credit to him and others for writing this but ANGELINAS version is on another leval.

There are a lot of rumors about this song going around. Wanting to know facts from fictions, I did some research. Below is factual information with a little bit of speculation:
- Baby Fuzz wrote this song with the help of others during a master class camp on song writing
- Those others worked with Angelina on her original Shield
- Baby Fuzz decided he wanted to sell it for someone else to use it
- For that purpose he decided to make a demo
- That demo was distributed but didn’t lead to a sale
- Baby Fuzz decided to release it himself anyway
Here comes the speculation part:
- the people Angelina worked on Shield with, brought the demo Baby Fuzz made with them to Angelina
- Angelina gave it a spin, this recording, and decided not pursue it any further
- Angelina’s version was leaked
For the timelines, Angelina’s cover was leaked a few months before Baby Fuzz released his original. That is of course curious that the cover was released before the original, but the above makes clear how that happened.
Regardless, it is an amazing song and I agree she absolutely killed it and the recording is technically of high quality as well. That is what is all about :-)
I've seen many reactions to this video, but this one really made me aware of the very high quality of the audio recording. I would point out that others have noticed something special in that background during the quiet parts, which was also deliberate. (I'm far from being a recording expert.)
Taken together with that, I'm certain the pictures and especially the video clips towards the end must be copyright Angelina's. I don't know what to believe about the "leaked" history. There must have been super-high effort put into this video and the overall quality shines through. If any one of the parties involved had invoked copyright, there would have been hell to pay from the fans. It is that good. Could "leaking" have been some sort of business tactic? I think there is some sort of liar's standoff going on here.
Notice also, that there are 10x the viewers of the video than the Baby FuzZ version.
Great reaction dude. Been revisiting this song often. Her timing and placement are her own. Its a cover but im not sure she even heard the original. I think she got handed the song new. Her whole year at ten was a defining year for her, she really got a handle on her power. Go find the rooftop live version of Everytime We Say Goodbye and its the patient intentional placement of every syllable that makes her stand right next to Ella Fitzgerald- at frickin 10

Look. She is a musical prodigy, but she worked with 2 of the songwriters on this demo. They produced it. They knew what they wanted it to sound like. Fuzz at the very least had laid down a basic demo of the phrasing of the lyrics that I’m sure she listened to and then interpreted in her own way. It’s what she does so well. That’s what demos are. Songwriters that aren’t singers write a song. Sing it. Then find a real singer to do a demo

---- Baby FuzZ says: The bulk of “I’m Still Holding Out For You” was done at a songwriting camp in Oslo, Norway. I wrote the song with some super talented cowriters Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen. I was there for the world class by:Larm music festival in 2016. Mostly I was just writing for other artists, and unfortunately found myself writing some tunes that fell a bit short. By the end of the week, I was growing frustrated with my effort, but luckily the frustration kind of bubbled up and resulted in this song on the last day of writing.
- During an off day, I was able to go to the Oslo Viking Ship Museum. It houses an amazing set of original fully assembled Viking boats from 900 AD. They have these kind of Nightmare Before Christmas looking adornments on the bows that are incredible. I was really inspired by the beauty and the curves on these boats. I honestly believe the ships inspired some of the writing on “I’m Still Holding Out For You”. The song is simple and stark, yet has a few ornate, artistic moments that remind me of those ships.
- So yeah, this song had been completed in 2016 and the idea was to try to give it to a big artist. I had sent it to a myriad of people over the last few years, with no luck. I think it was the music industry’s way of telling me I need to start putting out my own songs. Finally, early in 2018, I kind of came to the realization that the demo was pretty strong with my vocal. At the point, I went back in on the production and kind of took it over the finish line. Now I’m super happy nobody else took it, because it feels 100% honest to what I was feeling at that time.
- A fun line in the second verse deals with impulsive swiping of potential Tinder matches. It’s not even to find someone to match with. It’s just a cyclical behavior of rejecting others in an attempt to affirm an old flame that will never work. It’s actually the whole idea of the song… I’m just delusionally holding out in some monk-like vow of abstinence and loyalty that is incredibly self-destructive.
---- People ask who "leaked" Angelina Jordan demo of “I'm Still Holding Out For You”. It is not officially known although either Ronny Janssen, Aksel Carlson and/or Frida Amundsen, the co-writers of the song, could arguably be prime candidates. Here is why.
- Does Angelina have any connection with the co-writers of the song? She sure does! Great song by Angelina is “Shield” that she co-wrote. And whom did Angelina co-write “Shield” with? No other than Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen and Frida Amundsen! Hmmm.
- Angelina is from Oslo, as is three Norwegian songwriters. They had to have met somewhere for “Shield” to be written and produced. It appears, “Shield” was produced at Ronny Janssen's recording studio in Oslo as he has a production credit.
- At minimum, one could also presume that at least one meeting had to have occurred when Angelina did demo of “I'm Still Holding Out For You”, probably also at Ronny Janssen's recording studio in Oslo which would seem to be likely place Angelina would have sung to backing track. So, it is probable that Ronny Janssen had master recording of Angelina's demo and probably made multiple samples for Angelina, and the other two songwriters.
- Additionally, Ronny Janssen is listed with production credits for three versions of “I'm Still Holding Out For You” by Baby FuzZ in 2018 and 2019. Thus, one can presume it was probably Ronny Janssen who played Angelina's demo version to Baby FuzZ in 2018. Baby FuzZ was said to like it, and it was OK to leave "leaked" demo on TH-cam.
---- NOTE: “Shield” was self-released when Angelina was 12-years old, or in 2018, roughly in same timeframe that Baby FuzZ released his version of “I'm Still Holding Out For You” in 2018. I thought the demo done by Angelina was for Baby Fuzz. Either way the Song was never released commercially by either artist and Angelina's version was a leak by someone. Many think Angelina/Republic should license/buy the song and have her perform it again (of course her performance at 10 was pretty amazing).

One her most surprising recording. I mean at 10! How is this possible. Not only his she gifted, she is well surrounded. As you said, it is amazingly well produce and arranged. It deserves to be release as a single. Actually I would like to hear her sing this now with her more powerful voice.

I’m pretty sure Baby Fuzz put the song out after Angelina cut this demo. His version has much more “Studio Magic” on the vocals.
You are exactly right Angelina made the demo at the request of Baby Fuzz and his team. His team worked with Angelina to make the demo. But after not hearing back from Angelina’s family for some time Baby Fuzz made the demo and released it. Baby Fuzz claims not to have listened to it before he did it. But his team certainly did. I was lucky enough to be saving everything Angelina since 2017 to my playlist and saved it the first time I heard and have had it since 2017

Nice work pulling out so many of the production details. Most don't. There are so many. IMHO this is easily the best produced of Angelina's works. That with her interpretation of the lyrics without a reference beggars belief at 10. I remain convinced this would be a huge hit if it was ever mainstreamed.

This could have been a big hit for Angelina if she had officially recorded it. I have read in comments, that this demo was recorded in a studio in London on January 3rd, exactly 1 week before her 11th Birthday. Supposedly, she did 2 earlier versions in late Dec, but this was the best version. I've never heard any other versions & don't know if its true. The commenter claimed to know the co-writers of this song which are the same co-writers of Angelina's original, Shield & he/she sounded knowledgeable providing dates & other inside info. I wish I had saved the comment.

Angelina at age 9 “I Put A Spell On You” and a year later now this one at age 10. They say that she channel’s the great performers from the past? Do you hear the similarities of this eerily sounding voice on both songs which are separated by only one year? I’m thinking that they are the same channeled performer, and I don’t think you will hear this particular channeling performer again coming outta Angelina. You wouldn’t suppose that this particular channeling was Screaming Jay Hawkins himself? Spooky or not, it’s happening.

I think that the fact of english isn't her first language allows her to make diferent and beautifull changes with the words. She is unique.
pedro I have to disagree. It's the opposite. Someone who has known her since she was 2 commented that she started speaking English so early and with such proficiency that it's practically her native tongue. I believe it's her familiarity with the language that facillitates her ease and ability to play with the words.
Great reaction. This is an amazing song and stellar performance. Whatever the backstory is, I truly hope things get worked out between everyone involved. I would love to see this released today! I think it would be a major hit. And I would love to see Angelina perform it now to see what her more mature vocals can do with it. I agree with some other comments here. This is one of my top five of Angelina's songs. It's phenomenal -- and at age 10!! However, I have to disagree with you about having her sound like this ALL the time in ALL her recordings! Angelina Jordan CANNOT and WILL NOT be put into a box! She has so many stylistic choices, timbres, genres, voices, etc., that to squeeze her into one mold of one style would make her CEASE to be ANGELINA JORDAN! I'm glad that, even being with Republic Records, she is a free agent, free spirit, genius-level creator & innovator whose governor is her own inner gut instincts.

Close your eyes and listen to her version of 2022 My Funny Valentine and you’ll hear a very sensual song sung by a very sensual young lady of about thirty. In the latter case we don’t see Angelina singing this song because her mother realized the connection between this sensuality and her young daughter. I believe this was also the case in I’m Still Holding Out For You and is the reason it wasn’t released. I heard one reactor go so far as to say she thought the song was very sexual in nature and totally inappropriate for a 10 year old to be singing. Close your eyes and listen to both songs with no prejudice and see what you think. Maybe mom was onto something both times. Angelina is a genius and has innate capabilities beyond which I don’t think even she has fully begun to grasp yet. No matter what we think, she has always lived at home under the protection of her loving family and,therefore, has many life lessons to learn on her way to maturing into a healthy adult. Unfortunately, a lot of her fans want to keep her as that little girl they fell in love with all those years ago. Let’s face it, that’s not only unrealistic but also psychologically dangerous for people to have an attitude like that when someone doesn’t live up to their expectations!

Nice analysis again. In my experience i always prefered using a fast delay on vocals instead of reverb, it easier to keep the vocal in front of the natural reverb of the room or lack of.

Agreed - I’m much more a delay fan as a regular tool than reverb. I also come from a time where if you wanted to have 2 channels of something (wet and dry for instance) you had to use cheap splitters and they were never quite right, and the reverb would push the vocal so far back in the mix. Avicii was a friend of Angelina and her family and he committed suicide. So Angelina’s family didn’t like the suicide inference in the song. This is one of my favorite songs by AJ. Super happy it got leaked, it really demonstrated her jazz vocals.
Once again that is an unconfirmed rumor that is repeated over and over again. Her management has never commented in any way about this song.

The audio track was recorded at the _SnakeHips_ studio in Oslo, produced by Aksel "Axxe" Carlson and Ronny Janssen. The same duo also produced and co-wrote Angelina's song _Shield._ Also involved in creating both songs was Frida Amundsen.

This was recorded when Angie was 10 almost 11 (it was used as a demo).The "rumor" was her mom (Sara) didn't like the suicide content references in the song so it was never released. This song is by Brandon Lowry better known as Sterling Fox & aka Baby Fuzz & co-writers Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen (& they have worked with Angie before). Baby fuzz did this during a music workshop back in 2016 in Norway, (for Angie is kind of like friends with Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen & they all know each other. For like I said they have worked together before, this is how Angie might of got the song for they were all at said work shop at different times)
Here’s a little bit of what BF said about the song: “Now I’m super happy nobody else took it, because it feels 100% honest to what I was feeling at that time. A fun line in the second verse deals with impulsive swiping of potential Tinder matches. It’s not even to find someone to match with. It’s just a cyclical behavior of rejecting others in an attempt to affirm an old flame that will never work. It’s actually the whole idea of the song… I’m just delusionally holding out in some monk-like vow of abstinence and loyalty that is incredibly self-destructive”-BF (No one was interested at the time)
then Angie did the demo of it in 2016 & it was leaked 2 years later in Nov 2018. (He wont change the lyrics to the song or let others do so). It's funny he released it as an original in Dec 2018 a month after Angie's was leaked (Even though he never knew about it yet).
When so many listen to this & Baby Fuzz's version (here’s the link) th-cam.com/video/q5HsABS4OXQ/w-d-xo.html (Even BF really liked Angie's version of it when he saw it later in 2020.) but some fans still all think this should be her's for it sound much better & convey's the story better. Brandon Lowery is a good writer & it shows in this song. His version is also good. (This is an amazing song that Angie sang & Brandon Lowery wrote)

I believe it was recorded to this level at Stargate... But it could have been a smaller studio in one which some of the co-writers of this song are Involved with.............
Stargate is a different Norwegian production duo (Mikkel S. Eriksen; Tor E. Hermansen). They only contacted Angelina in 2020 after AG, then did Million Miles, 7th Heaven and reportedly a few other songs not yet released with her. Here instead the same group as for her song Shield was involved: Aksel Carlson, Frida Amundsen, Ronny Janssen

These four women have amazing vocals/harmonies! Guitarist on the left is married to the fiddle player, the bass player and other guitarist are twins and play with Brandi Carlisle. The sound is always amazing in this studio. There’s multiple microphones, amps and an interesting device under the bass player’s foot? All “stuff “ that is right up your alley. I don’t think they were that concerned about the production because she was recording this for a demo of the song. The writer hadn’t even sung it yet, and he ended up listening to her version before he made his own track. Check his version out as well: Baby Fuzz.

Like many of her songs, this one has been underrated. It is easily in her top 10, likely top 5. Impossibly at 10 years old. You should also listen to the Baby Fuzz version of this reverse cover. Great reaction.

Yes, euphoric about how good it sounds but sadly, this big RnB hit was never released. Shoutout to Baby Fuzz for this great song that works with his own funky version too. I think he borrowed how the chorus takes off and flies over a canyon in Angelinas version.
You need subwoofers to get the full experience of this song. Something nobody talks about too is English is not her language.
donald A family friend who has known her since she was 2 commented that she started speaking English so early and with such proficiency that it might as well be her native tongue.
