I like this. we could then explain his copy power with platonic theology as the providential will of The Good reaching out into the world, cleaving corrupted matter to it in order to use it as an instrument for manifesting The Good here on Earth. In fact, Kirby is very much like Christ in this framework, an incarnation of The Good (perhaps a more concentrated version than Jesus), meant to drive historical process towards the achievement of a heavenly state of being called the kingdom of God.
If Kirby does indeed inhabit our own universe in the distant future, then it only makes sense that as we reach the end of history (the final judgement), the incarnation of The Good becomes more concentrated, and perhaps more combative if others have fallen too far from The Good to be saved.
I think it's both. Imagine studying dark magic and dark matter for hundreds of years only to make a giant cell lol

Huh. I love how Matt Patt does fantastic research on both game lore AND scientific facts/theories. I always just kind of assumed Kirby was a cute alien but the argument for him being some kind of sentient amoeba is fairly convincing. Informative and creative episode!!!

The point of a theory is to overthink something to try and explain it. So congratulations, you just defined what a theory is.
Lets "over think" this even further. If Nintendo didn't intend for kirby to be an amoeba, could this support correspondence theory? Or can human ideas go through a sort of "convergent evolution" to align with that of actual living organisms?
I know ideas go through trials, but not necessarily the same way living organisms do. Trial and error or survival doesn't apply the same to ideas, except for memetics. If I think of a flying turtle, there is nothing crippling that flying turtle to exist in my mind other than me discontinuing thinking about such.
But what environment, in my mind, would allow the flying turtle to go through a "trial"? There isn't anything preventing the turtle in my mind from flying.
So why do I say this? Well...how could all of these features correlate between the mind and the physical world if the mind isn't restricted by a physical environment? How can Kirby's features resemble that of a amoeba if Kirby is imaginary and the amoeba is real? Did the creator study amoeba in the past and subconsciously injected his past knowledge of one in his character? Or is it some weird universal truth that "survival" means harboring these common features.
I always think of Absorbent man from Marvel, Tetsuo from Akira, Amazo from the DC universe, and that Robotic cat from Jimmy Neutron. Hell any being that copies.

This channel is just bringing all the science that I WAS taught but was never taught again so I ended up forgetting it.
I feel like schools should have a system, that whatever you learn one year you should begin learning once you go into the next year of school. And from that year you can continue learning. And the cycle continues. That way you actually can retain the knowledge you spent a year or so learning and you can actually use it.

But kirby has eyes.that means he probably has a nervous system.nervous systems are made out from a lot of cells and has nervous tissues .which in turn makes kirby a multi cellular organism.but it could mean kirby is an evolved amoeba

9:45 Ik this video is like 5 years old, but I have to point out a flaw with the split argument in regards to Mass Attack.
In Mass Attack, there are multiple Kirby’s because the main antagonist of the game, Necrodeus, split Kirby into 10 copies, then killed 9 of them
So it’s not really him splitting into more, its moreso him getting one back
As a bio major I already knew all of this, but the video is still fun to watch. You definitely taught my little brother something though.
Also, if Kirby is an 8 in wide amoeba, he should have a very wrinkly surface. Diffusion (how cells exchange many items with their environment) doesn't work well over long distances. Although he has a mouth and poops stars...

I am currently in environmental science and my teacher is kind of a bit of like alien kind of theorist so these videos are the only thing saving my grade because I have tried everything from trying to study to try and get extra help.
