Fix, Razor scooter clicks but doesn't move part 1

  • This is a Razor scooter I just bought a few days ago. I was going to use the motor for something else but I got curious why it clicks but doesn't move. The problem is the relay is not activating due to a bad circuit. I will show you how to jump the relay coil to make it work. This may or may not be dangerous due to the fact that it may disable the emergency braking. I'll make another small video showing you that the two relays now work after soldering a wire. You do not have to crack open the relays like I did.

Finally a video that'll just tell me how to get it working without telling me to buy all these parts and do all this testing. Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!

100% right. I love when people take there time to explain what they think, according to many years experience and skills, how to fix a problem. Yes let us get more like that. George C videos are great:-) Every boddy can buy a new one - but that is not fun. Thank you George C:-)

Thank you so much for sharing this helpful vid. My neighbor put a razor moped to scrap pile and I decided to attempt to salvage it. I bridged the relay as you demonstrated and wowla

the relays went bad, you can remove them and put new ones in. bypassing them will burn the battery and motor up quick

I bought a new controller but the motor still not working, I test the cable going to motor and it is zero reading, battery is fully charged 25.6V, there's click when I turn on the throttle but no power going to motor, I also checked the brake and it's fine, I already feed up, why there's no power going to motor?

Hi, you probably have to kick-start it or you can jump the relay like in the video. In other words, you have to kick-start it like a skateboard and then turn the throttle as it's moving

@@georgec7798 I heard about that. I actually replaced the controller with a new one and it still gave me that clicking noise. I got fed up lol

When your at a stand still & twist the throttle and hear a click its supposed to do that, no ride the scooter give a couple push steps and twist the throttle it will engage the motor!

Safety feature you have to kick off the wheel to get it going

I have a different name and mines doing the same thing all because I let 15 ppl at the skate park use it😭(with out my permission).

your only supposed to hear one click at first, that's the first relay starting the motor. as a safety feature the motor doesn't start without you pushing the scooter first. he didn't repair anything he bypassed a safety feature

@@mgnoodle2589 all 👍 glad it's working. I did however find documentation on some scooters like the e300 model 20 thru like 45 that said it doesn't require the push start. I guess they don't all have that feature 👌

Yep these are kick to start. But if you have little kids you can convert these to variable speed throttle and even add a speed reducing rheostat

this is not the safe way, this is the best way to teach someone how to start a fire. most people don't understand what gauge wire to use. bypassing the relay will and is giving more amperage to the motor and straining the batteries, causing them both to fail quickly if the wire doesn't melt itself thru the plastic. the SAFE ways are to either by the 10$ speed controller new or desolder the relays and put new ones in. they cost 5$ if you use the pins this guy shows you to solder a wire in and bypass them, your soldering the wrong pins and also taking the long way around a simple fix. so much fail in one video but at least you were trying to help people
