Too funny. That load of cars by the gate while they were sitting on the loader. The truck/trailer backed up then IMMEDIATELY the loader started doing it's thing. Had to watch that part twice. Didn't see the edit in between. I was like, "How'd he do that? Is someone else driving or something?" HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤣😂🙃😁🤪🤭😏😛😊😝
That train. The engine in the middle is called a "DPU". Short fot "Distributed Power Unit". They stick 'em in the middle to assist with longer/heavier trains. They can push/pull the extra weight, reduce coupler breakage and improve fuel economy and/or all of the above. They can also help to prevent locomotive stalls on hills. A DPU is controlled by the lead locomotive via remote control. At the front, there may be more than one engine. DPUs as well. Controlled the same way. They all act in sync (usually). Sometimes on hills the leads will pull the weight before the DPU up and the DPU will "run a little faster" so as to help pull the rest up. Sometimes there's a DPU at the end of a train. Same principles. Those can sometimes be referred to as "pushers" because that's their main function:
They help push the train which the loco(s) are pulling. If one at the end, odds are there won't be one in the middle. Placement's all pre-calculated based on total weight and leading grade (if any - leading=steepest) on hill(s).

Jumping like a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs! The heat saps even more energy. I remember working outside, hot, cold, rain, snow. Some days were just miserable. Even if you don't eat at least stay hydrated. Your mind and body start crashing when you're dehydrated. I really hate to hear the prices going down. I know other folks that work hard scrapping to make ends meet. I know you and your dad aren't doing it for exercise either. Always enjoy your videos dear, I'm always happy to see a new one up. Stay safe and GOD bless

Silas, you know if you'll put your pin in the hook in the opposite direction from the way that you put this one in, so as until the head of the pin is on the side of the point of the hook, you won't have hardly as much trouble with the pin trying to come out, it really does make a difference if the load isn't pushing against the cotter key end. Love ya junkyard! To prowl a good junkyard for a day is like Christmas and a vacation day all in one, not much can beat it!

Man that Olds Ciera looked very clean. I wish could come across one of those that clean here even if it needed work . Most of those here in the rust belt are pretty much gone. I had a 93 Buick Century(same car) which i drove for 15 years until the rear undercarriage rusted out which is the death knell for those cars. I miss that car.

I remember when they just crush it with transmissions still intact with fluids.
Edited : those converters years ago were popular for cash in. 2010 I got 65.00 a pc's. No man I never stole.
I bought estates and scrap it.

You put that pin in the hook backwards!!!!!! If you put it in the other way it will stay in longer without breaking it cotter pin !!!
Silas you know that bus you got with the 7.3 in it !!! It would be cool if you that engine and chassis and put one of the old dodge trucks cabs on it for a trailer pulling truck so you could haul three times as much at a time !!!!!!!

Hello. I enjoy your videos. Just asking, you buy junk cars and scrap. Then you crush most of the time and then load up on your trailer. You then most of the time go several blocks down the road and they unload your trailer. You are selling to them and making some money. Why don't other people just go to where you go and sell their scrap cars etc and I would think get more money for their scrap cars etc and skip you "The Middle Man".

    • @AdventuresMadeFromScratch
