Some people say Masterson got too big of a sentence. Personally I think he got what he deserved. Doing things like that to other people is something that I would never do. Being a good person is really not that hard - just don't do bad things to other people. Raping another person is beyond any excuse and people like him shouldn't be in society, period. Good riddance and shame on anyone who defended him.

Sentences for murder are way lower. Do you argue that the sentences are comparably justified then? Yes, he raped someone and that is nasty thing to do but if he killed the victim he would get lower sentence given how messed up justice system is.

It was serial rape - not one rape. He got 15 years per victim which was max under the law. There were further charges because he drugged the victims before brutally raping them ( physical abuse). They asked him only for an apology in 2016 or so (not sure) and he laughed and mocked them. So they brought charges. A simple apology would have ended it. He’s right where he belongs

There have been many cases that you can look up. Where women have lied and did not have a care in the world that the innocent man they accused is rotting in prison. Only for the police to release the man after losing 10-30 years in prison. Not to mention all of the other false allegations in the US, that don't go to court, I find it strange that they did not go to the police for 20 years. . The evil women that do lie are truly degusting and hurts the women that are real victims. Sadly in the US it is common for these false allegations, this is one of the many reasons the west is dying a slow and painful death. I hope we get a law in motion stating that if the accuser is caught lying or making up an allegation, then they will serve the amount of time the accused was going to spend, or has already spent in prison. I am sick of these animals getting away with no consequences and leaving the accused man with his life ruined by this awful accusation.
If he did this, then he can rot and he got what he deserves. But if for the small chance he is innocent, we will see a lot later down the line.

I am a woman who was sexually assaulted ( not raped) but I think this is an absurd amount of time for rape. Besides there should be different levels of rapes… a celebrity “raping” a young woman is not the same as a home intruder raping a 70 year old who hasn’t had sex in years. The type of sexual acts performed should also be considered and the penalty should be proportionate to the physical pain and damage inflicted . Psychological damage is in my opinion largely exaggerated by victims who could have had other reasons for their mental issues to begin with and blame the rape for all of it. People are being jailed for way too long in this country, almost as if some private parties were profiting from keeping the jails full.

I hear what you're saying about levels of rape, just like murder is classified 1st degree, 2nd degree, etc.
Murder is a violation of someone's life.
Rape is a violation of someone's soul and dignity. Rape is forced sexual assault.
The level of it and details involved in cases should be considered.
I didn't follow the trial from start to finish but I'm aware of the details.
Masterson used violence, manipulation and drugs to rape his victims.
The fact alone that he hid behind Scientology cult is pathetic and sickening.
I think 15 years with no parole for each offense is fair, the life sentence is a bit much, given that parole isn't a guarantee.
I have a relative that was brutally raped and beaten by several men at knife point back when she was in her 20s. She is in her early 70s now and still is psychologically affected by it. It's something that damaged her for life.
She ended up divorced and her only child was a teenager when he left home because of her state of mind. He has issues himself because of the way he was raised.
No one talks about it in my family.
I'm actually not sure what happened to the men that were involved.

Sorry but this Franz Borhardt during the Masterson discussion says some really questionable stuff about rape. Like, "when you allege a hollywood actor raped some individual, its another ball park when you introduce drugging and preying on somebody...the truth is, the "baseline rape", which is a horrible crime, its just generally not as bad as the more aggravated which is the drugging part, or using force or using some kind of you know, you know, violence." What does he thinks a rape looks like? It is violent, and it is by definition, forced. His comments about how a woman wouldn't know she was more intoxicated than usual, because you can't assess that when you are intoxicated makes it clear he has never been drugged. You KNOW it is not the same as when you drink. Its sort of like if you are drinking, and you start getting a marajuana high, cocaine high, or acid trip, you would know it wasn't from what you are drinking. Just some really strange beliefs and opinions.

Were the jurors afraid to speak to the judge? Were the jurors unsure if they were influenced until after the verdict and realized afterward that they were influenced?

Maybe the clerk did make these extremely careless remarks. But, maybe the jurors who made these allegations were paid to make these claims by a very wealthy and powerful family, so that AM could get a new trial.

Did any of them go to the hospital after this happened? Did any of them go to the hospital even within a week of this happening because if they did at least they could all be drug tested and in court they could find that the same drug used on one was used on all of them. Did any of them file a complaint with the police department within the first week or so? I mean it's still better if they do it within 24 hours but 20 years later I know one of them said they went a year later but that's still too long. What was the evidence that they really had in this case? Because I know they all talk to one another and it's very easy for them to mix it up and have it all down where it's believable because they all talk to one another. I've been where these girls were supposedly at and I know that a cop would look at me like I was crazy if I went there and told them that some average guy R'ed me 5 years ago. You get less time for killing someone. I would believe them a lot more of they weren't looking to get money out of this. They are suing scientistology and the Mathewson est.

This 🙌 why wait 20 years? Why not go to the hospital after it happened? So because the church tells you not to you don’t I’m guessing if the church told them to jump off a bridge they wouldn’t do that so how’s this any different, seems like this is all for money imo

If this AM dude is out raping women he needs to be in prison. It sounds like hes had a pretty good life and made money from the tv show etc.. So in my opinion the guy shouldn't have had to rape women to get a piece. He sounds like a deranged creep that needs to be behind bars. The fact that he had done it multiple times shows the guy is a serial rapist. I don't know why people get involved in these weird cults like Scientology.

What's neing done to Marilyn Manson is a group of women that did have meetings to make up their stories, hacked his social media, sent out letters pretending to be an FBI agent and a lot more illegal and evil things. Every. Every case is individual. As for the clerk on the Murdoch case, he deserves a new trial. It's not about not liking the verdict, it's about her tainting the process. She caused all of this. I believe the jurors and they have given affidavits stating what all she did. No matter who the defendent is, what the crime is, ect. It's our Democracy and the process and a fair trial. I think she did it and to line her own pockets and she pressured the jury.
