What do I make of the Danny Masterson scandal? I’m only have two questions; Harvey Weinstein got away with this numerous times before his actions finally caught up to him and he was sentenced. And Danny Masterson only did this three times before his actions finally caught up to him. First question: Is there a reason why no one is investigating those responsible in sending the fixers into covering up the crimes? Perhaps justice was served, or those that sent fixers to covered up those crimes figured it was time to let them go because they weren’t worth the trouble anymore. Second question: The point; is that this is probably still continuing right now, so what’s being done to stop the continuation?
I don't know, I wasn't there, but how do you convict a person on sonething they are accused of doing 20 years ago? What evidence did they have to prove he actually did this?
@@McMahonHater maybe he is innocent, and he has been set to take the fall by Scientology itself. As far as I know, the justice system convicted more innocent than guilty. Because it is not really “All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law” as said at the end of COPS opening theme. It’s your guilty until proven innocent. And if you want to answer your own question, be an investigator. Whether it’s a journalist or Private investigator.
Mcmahon, well really, it's Master sent admits to having relations with these people, he would need to prove the presence of consent. Not the absence of a no. Logically speaking.
Yeah damn him for wanting to have a career outside of a TV show that was about to end that he was forced to not take other roles for cuz they wouldn't accommodate him filming other acting roles
@@ChloeFletcher-gk1fo I can relate to Topher Grace. I had these three classmates/teammates in high school who I was mostly uncomfortable around. I am an introvert as well and didn't like the way they would talk about girls. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them ended up in prison like Masterson.
I saw that episode. Thought he was just joking. He could clearly see him. I loved that seventies show but Masterson seems to have fucked it. Up the arse with no lube. He has disappointed me and many others.
One of the biggest problems with combatting sex crimes; no one ever wants to believe it when they are told someone they care about is a rapist or a child molester. Whether it’s a close trusted friend or family member a celebrity they look up to and idolize.
Yeah i have a second cousin that molested his girlfriends preteen daughter. He was caught after the girl spoke up to one of her teachers and they called the police. He is now on the sex offenders list and I've disowned him,
@@liampatrick3110yeah but he was never convicted and two of the so-called victims recanted in court only to years later after he's dead and gone file a suit against his estate, they also made a documentary called leaving Neverland
He was the hottest guy on the show imo. I can only stand those pretty boys for so long. He was rugged and rough around the edges with a bad boy streak. That's my kind of dude.
I wish they would be this hard on all convicted rapist and sexual predators, instead of just the ones they are trying to make an example of because they are famous. But I’ve seen cases where someone is proven by dna and forensic evidence to have committed a crime like this against and child and only get 5 years and still be able to have contact with the child afterwards. It’s ridiculous.
If each victim would have gone to trial alone then he would have gotten less years. However, since they filled together, it was possible to get this kind of sentence.
@@TheGhostofMrArthurs proven cases? you need the proof of a yes, not the absence of a no. now is the masterson case real? or just another fake trial to get us to consent to some violation of our rights, as is often the case?

Yeah. The people in Hollywood, especially those in “casting” know what they’re doing. Even when it’s tongue in cheek like Cosby being “America’s dad”… They’re casting spells, and may not even know it! The spirit world is strange, beautiful, powerful and cannot be lied to….
Hyde used to be one of my favourite characters, but after Masterson's shady activities, I can't see him in the same way again. He'll likely never be referenced in the spinoff.
Oh yeah he was in a way called Face/Off, small scene but he played a weird boyfriend who tried to r**e the daughter of an FBI agent who switched faces with a terrorist
remember when Eric has that guardian angel show him what life would be like if he didn’t stay the day Donna kissed him, and she winds up married to Hyde and when her and Eric kinda reconnect later on, she mentions how he’s in prison or jail, many foreshadowing events hidden in subtlety of you ask me
Yep that's what shows do, once a celebrity does something really bad and they play a character on their TV show, they either phase them out of relevancy or kill their characters off. Look at Roseanne and Kevin Spacey.
I'm glad to see Scientology is being challenged! Surely someone can take all of their crimes and make something stick, but until then it's great that they are being put on the stand along with their criminal members.

I'm still wondering what exactly did he do to get 30 years. This whole story is really lacking in detail. 30 years is a long time to get considering murder is usually only 25 years.
Accusers were able to meet up and change their stories for better effect. The trial that convicted was the 3rd trial, I believe, with the first two resulting in mistrials. If you can’t get a verdict from first two, just change the rules, that about sums this all up. Accusers changed statements corrupting the evidence. No physical evidence or real history? Accusations purport one signing a NDA and received a hefty payment via a supposed lawyer but said lawyer was never involved, to my knowledge l, in the case? They made Scientology take center stage to shade opinion on everything. I’m no fan of the church but I doubt they espouse rape as part of their beliefs?
Nobody knows or will ever know if he is truly guilty. I am wary and suspicious of anyone involved in Scientology and don’t trust any cult of course. It still seems like you should have at least a single piece of physical evidence before essentially taking a man’s life from him though.
He did confess in the church, the scientology celebrity center. He was tried on three charges, convicted on 2 charges. But there were at least 8 rapes testified to in court. And in my opinion, the drugging of all these victims is a pretty serious crime by itself, even if he hadn't raped them. The thing I'd like to understand is, how did he convince himself it was ok to do this the first time? How did he think, "this will be ok if I drug these women and rape them"? Did he worry about maybe just accidentally killing them with drug overdoses? It wasn't just a crime of the moment. He must have planned these crimes out in order to have the drugs ready.
I agree, the thing that sticks in my head is how the first judge found the witnesses creditable to bring him to trial but those same witnesses where found to have inconsistent stories in the first trial
He needs to be made to tell how he went from sweet little kid to rapist... however... I highly suspect Scientology had a larger factor in his behavior than we yet know. Scientology is everything certain people claim Christianity is.. and worse.
@@castleanthrax1833, by admitting that Scientology is the cult it is: founded on the principles of a proven misogynistic liar. Hubbard himself was most likely a sexual predator, and multiple times they have covered it up. That plus the pervasive predator culture that is Hollywood was always going to produce someone like him. But someone HAD to have taught him that level of entitlement....
As a Christian, I can't help but watch in dismay as "church people" ruin the good name of my faith (edit: and it is nothing new, goes back to the damned crusades!). Gone are the "fishers of men," with patience, wisdom and respect. In their place we find "Dynamiters of the lake," who want to charge in cudgel first with a literal, "get with me or go to hell" mentality... Because Christianity's greatest boon is also it's greatest flaw: It's all inclusive, which attracts no shortage of bad faith actors. People who only go to church to be seen _in_ church, because it's nothing but a means to "high-holier-than-thou," someone else. To say "I'm right and you're wrong," or, even worse, to use the church as some kind of tax haven scam while they do it! But, again, most everything I've said has been a criticism of my own religion's problems, because nobody gets anything out of me being like, "Oh, _I'm a Christian, so you should listen to me!"_ Religion is a personal journey, to be counseled, not enforced or extorted. I'm not any better or any worse....just a Christian (And my biggest counsel to other Christians, right now, would have to be, "If 'faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains,' then what might all of your faith, _misplaced,_ get accomplished?")
I remember in the 90's and early 00's, how often people wanted to throw out, _"Why_ would a _'just and loving God'_ make a Hell?" And how easy it became in 2016 to just point at the TV and be like, _"That!"_
This hurts. Thats 70’s show is one of my favorite shows and Hyde was my favorite character. Now between him and Wilmer Valderrama, I don’t know if I can look at the show the same way.
@@jubileebaby0 has a pretty sketchy dating history when he dated a few girls who was like 18 but he met them when they was like 15-16 and he was in his 20’s at the time.
The thing I’m struggling with is why is he the only one getting a 30 year sentence! There’s people who do far worse to women and men and they get a slap on the hand! Really, 30 years should be a starting point for rape/sexual assault on all women/children/men. The trauma and torture left upon victims is lifelong and should be taken seriously.
I agree too . Remember, Bill Cosby was let out early. It's hard for me to believe these cases when there is monetary gain involved also. Some of these are 1990 cases. Ridiculous to me.
There was a Halloween episode of That 70s Show where Jackie told Hyde "With an alcoholic mom and an absent dad, you're bound to end up in jail sooner or later." Mila Kunis predicted Masterson's fate in the real world.
His jail term seems very extreme. Sounds like there is more going on in this story with judges, lawyers etc. More extreme crimes don’t even get this much jail time. Something is definitely off in this whole case. People do lie and you can’t believe everything especially these days. Authority figures can’t be trusted they lie to.
Amazing video Rebecca from watch mojo of the untold story of Danny Masterson from that 70 show to being sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for his crimes, fantastic job. I wonder what the whole cast and people who work on the beloved show that people loved thinks of the verdict of Danny Masterson.
I think Taryn's career is going to suffer for her response. Not only does she look and sound drunk or high but she talks about what he did in a way that tries to minimize the heinous nature of it all. Just because he didn't try these things on his friends and costars doesn't mean he's not a monster.
I'm surprised he received a conviction, let alone such a significant one; usually, sexual predators get away with it, and the rare times they do get punished, it is pathetically minor for the gravity of their crimes.
Really sucks when people you thought were okay turn out to be monsters. A lot of sick bastards out there. Try staying safe, ladies.,, Who am I kidding, nobody is safe. We live in a messed up world. 😢

Thirty years based on victim testimony alone. Meanwhile in the same city, gang members are often only serving a decade or less for murder, after being caught red handed. If you don't find anything suspicious about this case, you're actively trying not too. I'm not a fan of the guy. If he's truly guilty, he deserves to be locked up. But this case still raises questions.
@@dkdebest He was given a harsher sentence than many convicted killers, both male, and female. My issue is that he was convicted on the testimony of three women alone, no other evidence was presented. And all three of those women, and Masterton himself, are all members of the church of scientology. I believe there must be more to this story. EDIT: Also different states have different laws. That female killer was tried in Arizona, while the Masterton case was tried in L.A. Can't really compare sentences from different states, or cities, when they have different laws.
@@dkdebestyou know female usually get less sentencing than males like for instance a female teacher can rape a little boy and be out in less than a year it also put said boy on child support and also still have contact with the boy after the fact while if a male teacher does the same he'll be out in five to 10 years depending on who's his judge
Scientology is cancer, but so is people's tendency to believe that just because they like the character someone plays, it must mean the person acting is good as well. Separate the artist from the art, that goes both ways.
People think I'm weird for saying this but honest to God, Danny Masterson always gave me weird vibes even through my tv screen every time I saw him on That 70s Show. I honestly cannot explain it but I always got a vibe like something was off with him. Turns out my gut feeling was right🤷🏾♂️
Same, he was a creep on the show. Life imitates art I suppose. I can't remember one episode on which he was ever "light", always something dark about him beyond the character.

@@zanishabrown3021Yeah I remember rewatching the show during the pandemic and watching it as an adult made me realize that Hyde was actually the worst character on the show by far. He snitched on Kelso after he cheated on Jackie, say what you want about that but I thought it was dirty the way he did it like he broke them up basically for a laugh. @@dx-dragon4399 nah, there is too much evidence to say he is innocent. he didnt even speak for himself in court and had NO CHARACTER witnesses in court. not to mention even more of his accusers who werent part of the case spoke as witnesses and their accounts have to be verified and checked out. its extremely difficult to get someone that powerful with that much money, convicted so the fact that he got caught says a lot. the church documented all his actions and it was combined with all the accounts shared by the people he drugged and intimidated and raped
Do you happen to know what the evidence was? These days I don't think there has to be a whole lot, me too changed everything. I'm not saying he's innocent but I'm not gonna automatically believe he's guilty because the court said so. It's naive to think innocent people don't get sent to prison, it happens all the time and this case being as old as it is I would find it hard to believe there is any physical evidence. I do wonder if between me too and Scientology if he's paying for other people's crimes. I haven't seen anything on 2 of the women that accused him but I have seen quite a bit of his ex and I just don't know, for someone who kept something like this to herself for so many yrs she sure isn't affraid to speak now. One other thing, they decided to come forward after talking to Leah Remini. She left Scientology and like the next day started going after them, it makes me wonder what happened to cause this overnight change in her feelings towards them. I've heard many stories of them intimidating people but I kinda think that it doesn't go further than that and they can't be that good at it, several have spoken out and don't seem to be "paying" for it. Especially Leah, she has said a whole lot and doesn't seem to be in any cross hairs. Idk, I guess some things just don't add up for me. If he got 30 yrs based on he said she said we should all be scared, especially men!! This sentence is not normal, sometimes it should be but the fact is it's not so they have set a definite precedent. Id really like to know what the evidence was. Are you suggesting we don't convict any criminals until all past crimes are dealt with? It's not weird to convict anyone who has committed crimes. You can think it's weird that GEs client list is still hidden, but your reasoning behind your thinking is the thing that is weird.
I agree. Rape is horrible, but 30 years in jail...? In Canada or France he would have been entitled to 5 years. A guy still has the right to settle down and start a new life, it seems to me!
I'm a big fan of "That 70's Show" and I find it terrible that Danny Masterson did these things. Part of me wishes very hard that he didn't do them at all. But I know he did. He's probably kicking himself for everything he's done in his life.
I would hope so. But usually a “star” that is also a serial rapist is probably just angry at everyone else… Him and Cosby can visit on the yard and reminisce during that one hour a day they aren’t in their box.

This is ridicilous 30 years to life and he hasn't even killed someone???? I've read multiple stories of females that have killed and getting less. Like even recently that female that drove full speed at a wall and killed her boyfriend and a friend of them only got 10 years.
I could of overlooked DM cause I really did not like that character much. But now Wilmur allegations and phoney letters to a judge by 4 cast members it’s losing its appeal. Only Prepon and Grace are left
It's going to be so interesting and even weird to see the show reruns whether it's in a streaming service or DVD, after the sentence was made official. For those who live under a rock, Mr. Masterson will be eligible for parole when he's 77 years old.
It is too bad he got to have those 20 years of freedom after these crimes. He should have gone to prison back in 2003 at 27 for 30 years to life. How many other women did he drug and sexually abuse during that 20 year period. We will never know the true number.
Don't kid yourself, Masterson will be out of jail in no time. Look at Bill Cosby, in the front door of the jail and out the back for drugging and raping 70+ women. Yes, 70+ women!!! Another disgusting POS. Women aren't safe anywhere from these preditors.

But, again, most everything I've said has been a criticism of my own religion's problems, because nobody gets anything out of me being like, "Oh, _I'm a Christian, so you should listen to me!"_
Religion is a personal journey, to be counseled, not enforced or extorted.
I'm not any better or any worse....just a Christian

Had Donkey Punch been stopped after the first attack he would have served his time registered as an offender and been treated by now. Scientology is always worse than you think.
While Danny is paying for his crimes appropriately. I can't help wonder if the ongoing ego battles between the corrupt justice system and wacked out Scientology sect didn't play a part in him getting that sentence.
Was I the only one expecting the space beep boop church to mop him up?
I dont think id ever been so gutted about a celebrity commiting a serious crime, i was such a massive fan of his in the 90's and early 2000's, Hyde was my favourite character on That 70's Show too, just shows literally anybody can be a criminal
now fez needs to answer for his crimes. dude likes ‘em young.
hey simp
You either die a hero, or live long enough to see you become the villain
Tell that to keanu reeves
@@aeroyngaler3320 What does Keanu, have to do with this?
What about my old great grandpa Joe ? He was a cowboy as a teenager and ran cattle from Texas up through to Montana. Threw his back out and spent the rest of his life at a factory then he died. He wasn't no hero and he wasn't no villain. Just an average Texan. Liked to drink every night before he'd listen to the wireless. Didn't say much. He was tough.
One time he found me reading a Batman comic. He didn't like ole Batman. That's the devil's work, he said.
And he was right.
Thank the Good Lord he never lived long enough to see that stupid quote posted on every video on TH-cam.
If ole Joe was raised from the dead - as we all will praise be - but if he was raised today and he saw that quote, he'd drop his britches and crap out a brick, yessir, a brick and no foolin.
So for my sake, for your own, and especially for my old great grandpa Joe, and for Mr Keanu Reeves as well...I implore you...
Stop posting that quote.
If it was ever profound, it ain't any more. And down here in Oklahoma, where I live, we dont take kindly to strangers, or Batman quotes.
You ever quote that quote in my little town, and my town stretches two miles end to end, one of the folks here will take you out of the drugstore and they'll kick you up and down the street.
Batman. That's a man who has evil powers. That's the devil's work.
But that quite ain't the devil's work. That meme ain't the devil's work. That movie ain't the devil's work.
It's just played out.
Find something new to say or grab a bottle of whiskey like my old great grandpa Joe, sit by the fire and turn on the wireless. Listen to ole Gid Tannet and his Skillet Lickers, now that's real music right there.
Gid Tannet weren't no villain either and he weren't no hero.
No more quotes Billy. No more of this.

Why are People being so Judgmental!?
This can/could Happen to Anyone....
WTF are you talking about? Can you ACCIDENTALLY drug and rape people now?!
Now Scientology gonna stalk WatchMojo.
Didn’t they already have a trial for this once before and he was acquitted?
It was a mistrial, not acquittal. If a mistrial occurs, then the prosecution has the opportunity to try the case a second time. If it was an acquittal, then the prosecution cannot try the case a second time.
I think making a video about his life help the victims it just gives him more attention
30 years is insane! In Finland he probably would have had to serve 1-2 years in prison!
Yes! Danny Masterson didn't reprise his role as Steven Hyde in That 90s Show due to major issues with crime. Don't expect to see Danny Masterson in later on-screen appearances like Young Sheldon, The Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice, Name That Tune, The Neighborhood, The 100,000 Pyramid (Episodes from the Michael Strahan era), Celebrity Jeopardy, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, etc.

Yea, the accomodations are a bit different.
This all your fault
Don't worry, he'll never serve 30 years. He'll be out in no time.
I'm just shocked a celebrity got time. People are sick of them getting away with everything
I’m honestly surprised he got 30 years to life. Normally celebs seem to be above the law. Not this time though. Also I’m sure there’s a foot in ass joke in there somewhere
His character on that 70s Show screamed predator
And the fact that Mila was super young on that show I’m sure she has some stories she doesn’t want to share due to being married to their costar Ashton
I wonder what we dont know about this case. They must have had something on him aside from the allegations. Theres people that have been accused of alot worse that ddint come close to the severe consequence he was given. It was mentioned the judge said their was sufficient evidence, curious on what it is.
The jury heard the evidence and decided upon no reasonable doubt that he raped at least two women. The sentence was set by statutory mandate and not by the judge's discretion.
@@kimpikendrick7986 the judge said there was sufficient evidence, I was just curious on what that was.
he had multiple victims and those are just the ones that made it to court.

I think your definition of "untold" is interesting. It's literally the most told story on the internet right now.
Maybe give him 10 years?....there are murderer's that have killed and done half their time in jail for good behavior out here!.... system needs to be reformed somoehow.

This is why rehabilitation in America for criminals is so low. He got thirty years along side some other guys doing big ass time like that too when they didn't kill anyone. It's 25-life for first degree murder. How did he get 30-life for rape? We need a better justice system for sure. And don't get me wrong this piece of shit needs to be punished for what he did. But think about it if you do something bad once or twice but never do it again but you still have that felony on you but you changed and really never did anything like it again. How is it fair to be labeled as something for life. We are all human and capable of changing. Usually after punishment but when we do change we shouldn't have to live with a mistake we made 20 years ago if that all makes sense.
I don’t like 30 years to life over something that was 20 years old and can’t really be proved. Not saying he did or didn’t do it just don’t think you can give someone 30 years when it’s not really a forsure thing there’s no evidence
Don't murderers get less time then that? Seems super long
Never do anything bad…
I didn’t know Philips was his wife. Loved her in “Bully”
A lot of these wealthy people and entertainers are like him and worse because they can more often than not get away with it. It is always strange that criminality/addiction is cast off onto poor and/or Blck and PoC, but the rates are more or less the same and worse with those who can afford the lawyers and for the laws to not to apply to them.
By the time he gets out he'll be That 70 years old.
Let’s assume that something happened to Hyde in the 80’s, which led him to Jail in the 90’s
Clearly these reporters saying "jail" have 0 experience. Prison, not jail, there's a difference
ehhh....30 years is insane
True. He should have gotten the death penalty for drugging and raping women.
I agree, people probably hate saying this but 30 years is really a long sentence considering murderers don't even get that long.
@@darlenegattus8190 my stance with shit like this is, the only people who know what really happened are the people involved. Handing out 30 years on some hos word is insanity.
What about the other celebrities
Wouldn't it be CRAZY if Danny M. Did something else that threatened Scientology Church and they had the girls, (who are members) ruin his life. The same way they treat other members.
Makes them look bad for having covered it up. The women all spoke of this long ago but they covered it ip
