A documentary detailing the major events of the early Universal Century and the One Year War. Edited together from DVD bonus clips. *NOT mine. Owned and produced by SUNRISE.
I wish someone could animate the interior of a colony from one of the sides that isn't 6 or 3 and just watch an internal battle between the feds and zeon. Like how did the population go from 4 billion to 9 billion in 10 years after the wars? How many colonies survived in Hatte and Zarn. Why aren't there any accounts of londenion during the one year war even though the colony was apparently a century old by 0091.
oh look at the nice robots I'm sure it'll be a fun lesson what's that? segregation of spacenoids, gasing of space colonists, dropping of entire colonies and using nuclear weapons...
@@QuattroPogjeena Actually no it's a Gundam is singular to one suit. When I refer to one mechanized humanoid fighting machine I say Gundam when I am referring to a squad of them a la 00 I say Gundams
I remembered this from the DVD special features, on I believe season 1 of the original series. THANK YOU for uploading this! really brings back my childhood.
Legrange points exist between any 2 objects in space. Colonies at these locations are what we need to be doing. We can perfectly control everything and move whenever we need to.
yes and then Bezos and all the other rich fucks can go and live in these places... What's that? There's a movie called Elysium with the exact same plot? weird... yeah the "regs" would be left on earth to drown or burn or yada yada global warming side effects.
@@matheoustargaryen in gundam its actually the opposite. The rich stay on earth while the poor are deported to space colonies or asteroid mining facilities in the asteroid belt.
@@Spaceman0720 that reminds me of that book All Tomorrows by Dougal Dixon, I believe that's his name. anyway eventually man spreads thru the solar system but never quite get artificial gravity down for some reason so the ''Belters and others who live in the colonies in the asteroid belts" evolve into these spindle armed and legged humans that look like 'Grays.'
Ok, so this is the only UC-related video I've ever seen that establishes the UC began in 2045. That is 100 years after Hitler's death. When Degwin asks Gihren in 0079 if he has ever heard of a dictator named Hitler, Gihren says "yes, he was from the middle-ages?", so either Gihren is not as educated as I presumed or it was a collosal screw up in this video to say the UC started in 2045, because that's only 179 years after Hitler's death. I always presumed the UC began many hundreds of years into the future, which would explain why Gihren might not know who Hitler is. But I guess schools in the UC don't teach history class going back farther than their own century LOL. Sunrise screwed up here.
The Universal Century is considered an entirely new era of history. What we call the middle ages now isn't some newer way of describing that time period. It was used in lieu of the older "dark ages" from at least the 1460s. Consider that the end of the late Medieval Period and thus the end of our middle ages was in 1453. About a decade had passed. It makes sense that Gihren would see that part of history as the age between the ancient world and the Universal Century.
@@KillerOrca Assuming that is their rationale. Again, remember people were referring to the middle ages we think of about a decade after that time period ended. So there's reason to assume, considering how barbaric they view the AD period, they wouldn't do the same to show how better the UC was.
15:41 this picture is so chaotic. Zeon submarines attacking old fashioned ocean based battleships that look like they were used in the 2nd world war- wait, what is that in the top left corner to the right of the battleship? Is that a fucking X-Wing!? Thats a fucking X-Wing I think!

Classic post war baby boom
It may sound dark, but wars have their sense...
If you're going by Char's Counterattack, it's 14 years later and there's 10 billion people.

That's like calling a car a robot.
Gundams are not robots
Tom A agreed... but ‘Gundam’ is also the plural

Tom A well... you may do that... but it’s incorrect.
In Japanese, plurals don’t change.
Therefor, it’s:
ガンダム(1)
ガンダム(2)
Found this thanks to Jhhk posting some of these segments.
