Perfect timing. I have a Ben Sayers and a Spalding putter in this style I was thinking of cerakoting but wasn’t sure what they’d look like. Thanks for this video
It's not one I'd bring to a tournament but I'll tell you what. If you're already a confident putter, this thing does feel great! Just have to hit it in the center 🤣
Are you talking the prep before cerakoting? Then no, there is no alternative. Cerakote has pretty extensive prepping steps, and sandblasting is a must.
No I haven't. Cerakote wouldn't work for irons. There's only one specialized aftermarket coating that I know of that will do Black irons other than factory pvd and what not.
I do yes. And cerakote is one of the most widely used coatings for putter Restorations and firearms, so it is extremely durable as long as it is not abused, and taken care of properly.
@@igolf906 I currently have an old putter, a ping piper c Scottsdale edition. It has a black coating, with some red and white lettering as well. Does this sound like something you can restore? Should I message you on here or?

I agree the music was a good touch!
Beautiful job!
Thanks!
Mate, you gotta putt with it. I desperately wanted to hear it strike a ball at the end🙂
I might be able to set something up
Great shout we want to see how they roll after.
Beautiful restoration once again but that putter looks like it would not instil you with confidence on the green 🤣

@@igolf906 im still using my ping zing ive had since i was 17, lost count how many new grips its had
What would be the alternative to sandblasting? Assume elbow grease & hand sanding?

@ great, thanks.
if you use cold blue what else do you need to do to stop it from rusting?
That's assuming you get all of the chrome plating off. But if you're Cold bluing all you can do is keep it oiled.
Best way to remove paint fill? Just an acetone soak?
I use to do that but at $22 a gallon I just bought a quart of 2 minute paint stripper for a couple bucks and use that now.
Have you ever blacked out a set of irons?
No I haven't. Cerakote wouldn't work for irons. There's only one specialized aftermarket coating that I know of that will do Black irons other than factory pvd and what not.
What kind of little mini oven is that called ? Lol
It's a toaster oven. I've recently purchased a newer bigger one. Works great. Just need an oven thermometer
How long will that black last? Also do you do custom orders?
