    Would you be able to use a dremmal to sand down any dings on the top line?

    • @igolf906

    You are so close to getting this perfect. What I do is preserve the shine of the bombs by protecting them with a dab of hot glue. During blasting it is preserved. Then instead of paint fill I use a machinist dye called Dykem. Scotty did the same thing back in the day. It really looks awesome and pays homage to Tigers beautiful red cherry bomb.

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's a good idea! But I don't see Dykem being very durable, but I guess you never know. Also, the Tamiya translucent paints I'm using I'm pretty sure are nearly identical to the ones Scotty uses. May do a classic red one in the future.

    • @oatechaosincycles

      To be honest, if I were to build another putter, I would do A LOT of things differently. I just sort of winged this build, and I do have hopes of building a more modern style putter in the future but, the more research I do the more intricate, and out of reach it seems. Well see.

      It's pure acetone. Can get it at nearly any hardware store. It's a strong solvent that eats away at paints and adhesives. But won't touch your NP. As long as it's factory and doesn't have some type of aftermarket finish. But even then, usually it's safe.

      I milled it with the original insert, but decided to get a copper one for it in the middle of the project. This putter is my personal gamer so, I didn't bother remilling it. I may in the future but, it has zero impact on putting performance so, wasn't worried about it right away.

    • @citallaerial2652
      @citallaerial2652 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The first thing that comes to mind is what was the final grit used during your refurbishing? If it wasn’t very high, say 2000 grit, you could have left very fine scratches that allows moisture to accumulate. All metal will rust but you can control the rate via your process.
