    I went to law school but never felt smart enough or good enough to actually practice law. Fast forward 20 years, yes 20 and I finally built up enough confidence to take the Bar Exam. I may never practice law, or pass the Bar Exam, but I don’t want to leave this planet never having even tried.

      You got this! If you can go to law school you can pass that Bar exam. Believe in yourself.

    • @kristidoingthings
      @kristidoingthings  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      Wow! It takes real courage to confront those doubts and fears, and the fact that you're going for it speaks volumes about your resilience and determination. Remember, it's not just about the outcome-passing or practicing law-it’s about reclaiming your confidence and proving to yourself that you can face this challenge head-on. No matter what happens, you’re already succeeding by not letting those old doubts hold you back. You’ve got this and I'm so proud of you. Make sure to come back after you take it and let us know how it went. We are all rooting for you!

    When I was a teenager I studied how men sailed through life like they owned the world. Even though I'm a shy introvert I developed an outgoing personality and started going about things the way men did. I just acted like I assumed I belonged and deserved everything. And it works. Think of all the totally incompetent people you know who are doing things they have no business doing! They don't even seem to know they're incompetent!

      I once watched a programme about an acting school that taught female students how to cross dress and pass as men. The instruction of the teacher that stuck to my mind ever since: "Walk like you own the ground beneath your feet, and all your surroundings". It's almost comical - if you watch men walking, that's exactly how they do it :D

      That’s such a beautiful and empowering insight! It’s normal to have moments where you fall back into old patterns, but the important thing is you’ve developed the awareness and strength to pull yourself out. That ability to remind yourself you’re not stuck is a game-changer!

    The "Light-er and Free-er" part is true.
    Recently cleared and re-arranged my small home work desk, the tabletop hadn't been seen in ages. I used a big plastic bin, put everything into the bin and then put things back that belonged on the desk, and when finished, it was a beautiful sight, but what struck me is the peace my brain felt. suddenly looking at that clear space it was like my brain breathed. I kept glancing at it because it made me so surprisingly happy.

    I so appreciate this content, particularly because it comes from a Christian perspective, where we are called to contentment. This vid reminded me of when Paul said, "I know how to be abased and I know how to abound." But it is so true that many of us DO NOT know how to abound, including me, apparently. ❤ Thank you, Kristi.

    • @kristidoingthings
      @kristidoingthings  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’m so glad you found the content meaningful! That perspective from Paul is such a powerful reminder of the importance of finding contentment in every situation. It can be challenging to navigate abundance while staying grounded, especially in a world that often equates success with accumulation. Embracing a mindset of gratitude and balance can really help us appreciate what we have, rather than getting lost in what we feel we need. Thank you for sharing!!!

    Needed to hear this today, thank you.
    This week I found out there is a job promotion opprotunity on my team that would be great for me, and a LOT more $$. Because I so often think negatively--I immediately thought if I apply and don't get it due to politics (I know I'm qualified), I will be mad af LOL. But listening to you makes me realize I need to step out and apply anyway, and if I don't get the desired outcome I should use dialectical thinking. If they offer the job to someone else, that is not a judgement of my capabilities.

    • @kristidoingthings
      @kristidoingthings  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're so welcome!!! It’s completely natural to feel nervous. But you’re right-applying for the promotion is a step of faith worth taking, regardless of the outcome. Remember, every experience helps you grow and adds to your journey. And using dialectical thinking is a fantastic way to shift your perspective! Just by putting yourself out there, you’re showing resilience and courage.

I don’t need clubbing outfits when I’m usually in bed by 9pm. Sometimes, privilege can just be giving more room to who you are now- in my case, an early bird, instead of a night owl. 😄

    We cannot control whether we get ptsd bc of a tragic accident or a tragedy of something else. But I learned through my CPTSD that eventually I can’t just blame my triggers for my reactions.
    It is vital for every generation to take ownership and full responsibility for the healing that it REQUIRES for full restoration. Whatever race. Mindset over matter is powerful. Grew up poor? Okay work through it at some point bc the world won’t care if u do not 😢sad but let’s not waste time and energy waiting on people. God will help w the Holy Spirit along w/urgency and mindset it is everything and all you need❤hallelujah

      Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you appreciate the shorter videos; I can have a pretty short attention span at times, so I aim to deliver valuable content in a concise way. Welcome to the channel! 😊✨

    My tip: Don’t believe everything you think or feel. Your thoughts and feelings are valid, but they don’t define who you are. Especially don’t believe what any one else says about you! That means family, too (I should say foremost because we tend to give their thoughts a lot more weight). Write down what you honest want, ask why you want them, then stop thinking and do it! ❤

    • @kristidoingthings
      @kristidoingthings  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Such a powerful reminder! It’s true-our thoughts and feelings can often be loud, but they don’t have to dictate our reality. Writing down what you genuinely want and taking action is such a great way to cut through the noise and stay true to yourself. And yes, giving less weight to others’ opinions, even from family, can be so freeing. Thank you for sharing this wisdom!

    A few weeks ago I lost a job opportunity that would definitely make my life very comfortable..... All because of self sabotage, inspired by believing I don't deserve that role. Mark you, I was qualifying, but I lied purposefully to be disqualified, because I told myself that it is too great of an opportunity for me to deserve 😢.
    I swear the devil is a lier. God forbid 🙏🏾

    My introvert self is horrified at the idea of going shopping w/ no intent to buy because I am NOT interested in having sales people talk *at* me. That said. I agree w/ EVERYTHING else! On the last point of Throw it away, I would add: don't add anything new or extra unless it add real value (to your balance, health, quality of life, goals, etc). This as helped to keep me in actual abundance and re-enforces the "I live in abundance" mindset. If you surround your self with people, activities, or things that add real value to your self and sense of being, its hard to not feel like you live in abundance.

    • @kristidoingthings
      @kristidoingthings  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lol! I totally get it-shopping with no intent to buy sounds like a social horror movie for introverts! But it really isn't that bad and def helps to grow those skills- it has for me, at least. Surrounding yourself with value is the ultimate life hack-less stress, more joy! Very well said!

    As a privileged person, I find this very interesting. My number one tip for fitting in would be grooming. Less is more. You can spot someone who doesn't "belong" just by something as simple as fingernails. Mute colors and short 👌.

    What wonderful content! Thanks for the reminder! When you have lived a "privileged " life and hit a slump, it helps to be run across some encouragement. Privileged people also never use the word "bourgeoisie." (Though, you will hear it pronounced "boujee". It's just a way of life.
