Being a trauma expert dealing with the postraumatic symptoms of victims of sexual abuse and sexual violence in arm conflicts; loving the Arab culture and being part of a group Of Experts in mental health in Arab and French speaking countries I gave been horrified by the non response of the people in the west and seeing how the left is supporting Palestine without any mention of how this conflict started and the hostages well-being till now , supporting the Palestinians after October 7th is like supporting the rapist and torturers that raped and abuse my patients and “understanding their psychological background “ RAPE IS NOT RESISTANCE” there is a very high number of survivors of child abuse that will NEVER abuse other people !
Nazis and turks regarded themselves as victims of jewish people or Armenians. Hitler took the non reaction of most of the world to the armenian genocide as encouragement.
False. He, along with a host of 9/11 liberals, have given intellectual heft to the idea of committing violence towards Muslims. In the time that Sam Harris has railed against There have been genocides against 4 distinct Muslim populations with the Western world's acceptance: The Uighurs, the Rohingya, Yemen, Syria and now the people of Gaza. Sam Harris' place in history is cemented as the Sophist for Islamaphobes.
As an Iranian woman who was born and raised in Iran, I tell you that Islam is not a phobia, Islam is a trauma. It has always been a question for me, why these students have never protested against gender apartheid, death sentences for non-Muslims, pedophiles and thousands of anti-human acts that are being implemented in this religion?
Ironically, for people who discuss how minorities within minorities suffer in unique ways from the same majority oppressor (intersectionalism), they seem completely incapable of imagining how a majority can oppress a minority and that minority can also oppress a minority within that minority. The idea that a subject can be an oppressed in one context and an oppressor in a different context must simply be too complex for them.
to be fair, students in the US would have no impact on Iran and may even have a negative impact as Iran would try to play down domestic concerns as foreign inspired

The story of how the Iranian Islamic revolution happened is extremely relevant here. It was an alliance between islamists and the far left that gave rise to the current situation after the left got betrayed and killed and oppressed by the islamists
Isn't the most important part that the CIA and Mi5 led a coup against the secular Iranian government, installed the Shah a brutal dictator and only then the islamic revolution occurred?
Yes! Fun fact. I lived through the Iranian revolution. My father was Sweden's last ambassador to Iran. We arrived 6 months before the revolution, lived through the revolution and my left a few months after the fall of the US Embassy. I was only 6 but I remember it vividly. Anyway you are exactly correct: Pre-revolution, the secular left wing allied with and cheerlead the Islamists, recruiting them to help take over Iran, after which the left assumed they would take their rightful place as the enlightened, sophisticated elite controlling Iran.
The story of Christendom was always an empirial religion, born under the auspices of constantine, the subjects were converted at the edge of the sword and rendered into slaves for his majesty, often referring to him as their lord. In Islam such slavery is unthinkable. The only lordship is that of the creator, no station into which man was brought into the lands of Islam was to any degree as bad as the repugnant chattel slavery brought by the primitive tribalism inherent in their texts, for example, the word עוֹלֵל, ʿôlēl which means 'Babe, infant, little one, a suckling' occurs 21 King James Bible Verses Of these verses: “Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.” -Psalm 137:9 “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.” -1 Samuel 15:3 “Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.” -Jeremiah 6:11 “Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.” -Hosea 13:16 The other verses are not much different. Infact it is always in association with violence. Indeed these verses are the reason why in the Crusades the sense of pious rejoicing at massacre does not appear to be the product of later theologizing; it is also found, in the account of the eye-witness Raymond of Aguilers: “in the Temple and porch of Solomon, men rode in blood up to their knees and bridle reins. Indeed, it was a just and splendid judgment of God that this place should be filled with the blood of the unbelievers, since it had suffered so long from their blasphemies.” In fact, Raymond continues, “This day, I say, will be famous in all future ages, for it turned our labours and sorrows into joy and exultation; this day, I say, marks the justification of all Christianity, the humiliation of paganism, and the renewal of our faith.” Another account by a chronicler and eyewitness-priest, Albert of Aachen, describes the killing of fleeing women, and depicts crusaders as:: “seizing [infants who were still suckling] by the soles of their feet from their mothers’ laps or their cradles…and dashing them against the walls or lintels of the doors and breaking their necks […] they were sparing absolutely no gentile of any age or kind.”The incoherence inherent in a stranger to Abraham calling the children of Abraham gentiles notwithstanding, this account evokes the very same Psalm 137:9 imprecation against Babylon, in Latin, “beatus qui tenebit et adlidet parvulos tuos ad petram.” Albert describes a massacre occurring, in cold blood, on the second day following the conquest, painting a scene that is as horrific as it is realistic and detailed: "Girls, women, matrons, tormented by fear of imminent death and horror-struck by the violent murder wrapped themselves around the Christians’ bodies in the hope to save their lives, even as the Christians were raving and venting their rage in murder of both sexes. Some threw themselves at their feet, begging them with pitiable weeping and wailing for their lives and safety. When children five or three years old saw the cruel fate of their mothers and fathers, of one accord they stepped up the weeping and pitiable clamour. But they were making these signals for pity and mercy in vain. For the Christians gave over their whole hearts to murder, so that not a suckling little male-child or female, not even an infant of one year would escape the hand of the murderer". Evoking several of these verses in practice: - (Num 31:17-18) Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. - (Deut 7:2, 9:3, Num 21) thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them... - (Deut 20:16-17) thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth - (Josh 6:21, 8:24-27, 10:, 11:11-14,21-22) And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword... And cut off their thumbs and their great toes... He left none remaining: - (Judg 18:27) And they took [the things] which Micah had made ...and came unto Laish ...and smote them with the edge of sword burnt city fire. - (1 Sam 15:1-9) Now go and smite Amalek and utterly destroy all that they have and spare them not but slay both man and woman infant and suckling ox and sheep camel and ass. - (1 Sam 27:9,11) And David smote the land and left neither man nor woman alive ... - (Esther 8:11, 9:1-19) Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together and to stand for their life to destroy to slay and to cause to perish all the power of the people and province that would assault them both little ones and women and to take the spoil of them for a prey... . - (Ezek 9:6) Slay utterly old [and] young both maids and little children and women: but come not near any man upon whom [is] mark begin at my sanctuary. This is the polar opposite in the Quran in Surah Al-Tanwir, literally "The Englightenining" Surah, Aya 8-9, we have the death of a newborn is mentioned amongst the penultimate signs of the end of times, emphasizing the gravity of such an action. That child, now resurrected, is asked for what wrong doing was she murdered. This is to emphasize that she had done nothing wrong, for she had done nothing wrong and this is the day of retribution where those who omitted the evil are to be punished. I grew up in a conservative Jewish zionist household with a family that survived the holocaust. We routinely worked with Jewish and Palestinian peace organizations and we had Palestinian students stay at my house on Exchange programs. Some of my Fondest Memories of that time were sitting in my room playing Magic the Gathering together. We are Lifelong members of the JNF, planting forests in Israel and building bomb proof playgrounds in Sderot, which have now been destroyed. I used to go to the Palestine protests back in 2007/2008 because how could one not sympathize with how some of these people live. Back then it was around 20 to 30 people at the protests. Oh how times have changed! Then I REALLY wanted to get the inside scoop, and got the blessing to do so when I moved in with Palestinian/Syrian roommates for 3 years. They taught me islam. I fasted Ramadan. I learned their stories. Families caught in the middle of multiple wars, bombed multiple times, and finally fled safely to the United States. To say that that experience shot me 180° back to my Jewish/Zionist roots is an understatement. The sheer amount of hate, vitriol, and antisemitism in the Muslim Community is beyond astonishing. Regular sermons from multiple Imams on ideologies of martyrdom, jihad, creating as much violence as possible in order to claim some land back. Repeated Holocaust denial and conspiracy theories from old antisemitic tropes. Horrific views of women/LGBT/people that weren't Muslim. If I had heard any teachings of these things from my Jewish community I guarantee you I would still be standing next to these people on the streets today protesting Israel. The things I value as a liberal person do not grow under Islamic regimes. They grow under democracy. While I'm no apologist for Israel and her many mistakes, there is no moral equivalence to the hatred and inequality spread in Islamist societies and the diversity and inclusion that is attempted in Israel and the west
Sorry to hear you were subjected to this hatefulness - in the US? My experience of the current massacre in Gaza is that many Jewish friends stand against it, and that Muslim friends recognize this and insist that they are anti-Zionist/Israeli-govt, but believe in full respect for Jews and how important it is to draw the distinction. But this is Cape Town - we tend to have our deep chats while hiking🕊️🥰🏞️
@@zetristan4525 Yes this is in the US. I found similar surface-level sentiments from Muslims/Palestinians I've talked too (a couple hundred) but once I dug a little deeper in my questioning some very scary opinions came out. My go-to comparison from my experiences (if i had to consolidate everything into a nutshell) was when I was a kid during the 2nd intifada there was a rally for Israel at the JCC near my house. One man had a sign that said "Death to the Arabs". My mother quickly saw it and explained to me how wrong this was, the group around us swarmed him and kicked him out. When I was living in the Muslim community, there would be multiple entire prayer sessions in mosque dedicated to the 'cleansing of the Yahud' and the liberation of Palestine. I wish I had an answer for evil. But yes my brother may we all have the blessing to get outside and enjoy nature together🥰🥰🥰🌲🌲🌲!!!
Have you not heard the hatred coming out of the mouths of normal every day Israeli kids and adults alike? Not to mention their politicians and rabbis...It is clear that this goes both ways so why try to make out it's a Muslim thing? Besides, who holds all the power here? and who is oppressing who? Don't you think the oppressed people have a right to be pissed off? Meanwhile, the oppressors manufacture utter lies in their hideous propaganda to try to justify their murderous campaign.

Another tunnel visioned comment! SIGH! How do you feel about the mass slaughter of the Palestinians...the past 100 years of brutal oppression, occupation and repression? most Palestinians have lived their entire lives under the boot of Israel...how does that make you feel? if anything?

Can’t believe this is happening in today’s world, I naively thought antisemitism was not a big thing anymore, how wrong could I be . The insanity is just incredible. I’m a British non Jew, but fully support and pray for Israel ❤.
bless you, thank you. I'm a jew and honestly being so hated is nuts, it's as if you're being looked at as some mythical creature deserving this epic emotion and inside you're like "i'm just a person, what's wrong with everybody?". I also thought it was a thing of the past. it's pretty bizzare I must say.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve long said that racism, homophobia, etc. are way overblown in our society and about most of those I am absolutely right. But I was completely unaware of how bad antisemitism still is. And to see that it is mostly those on the left (in the west) being the ones driving it is astounding.

I was having this conversation with a Jewish Turkish friend who's been living in NY for 25 years and she thought I was an alarmist. I didn't even know how to respond. Thank you Yas and Sam.
The first thing I did when I got the news of 10/7, was call my Jewish friends in the US. One of them told me Islam is a peaceful religion. I didn't want to rub anything in so I let it go.

@@nomicucce987 The problem with Turkish leftists is they think the Democrat party is a leftist party, but it has long ago traded old school leftist values of freedom of speech and inclusion for censorship, exclusion, cancel culture, anti-Semitism, and wokeism.
This is also, unfortunately, a common problem with Jews living in the West. Their obsession with far leftist ideologies have made them blind to the problem of Radical Islam.
I am from Israel - and I feel a terrible and painful loneliness in the face of the forces of Islam, and the cowardice of the world in front of it, as long as the Jews are at the forefront the world is ready to sacrifice us, and does not imagine that it will come to them as well.
I'm an American Jew who spent many of my young adult years in Israel. I have always talked to people about the threat of Islam throughout the world not just Jews and not just Israel. They won't believe me. Their willful ignorance is dangerous and is sadly helping the jihadi cause
I am an American, non Jew who used to live in Israel with a Jewish Israeli. I was there when Hamas was first elected in 2005. I was there when Hamas was bombing 15 miles from where I lived. They have been voted in every year by the people in Gaza. I hate that this part of the story never gets told. They want the complete destruction of all the Jews.
@@enshrinehd totally agree. And right now, the woke left attacks anyone who condemns hateful Islamic ideology. I'm Black and I'm dealing with an "Islamophobic" accusation from a Black-led organization.
While what you're saying is totally true, as a christian I feel compelled to point out that you don't need to feel alone. God isn't done with the Jews yet, and the very existence of Israel after 1900 is proof of it. (And it's also the reason the devil isn't done with the Jews either, hence the hatred towards you.) While we're at it, an important side note. I haven't watched the whole video but should point out that Sam is talking total nonsense when it comes to the existence of the Jews being "a perennial blasphemy" because they rejected the Messiah and that this has been the christian view for 2000. Bogus. For a 2000 christian view, read Romans 9-11 of the New Testament. God bless!
Thank you for your podcast and point of view on this topic, I live in Australia and was both alarmed and horrified of what took place on the steps of the opera house post the BABARIC attack on Israe. Hope your message will wake up more people in the West before it's late to save our civilization without bloodshed.

I'd love to see someone unpack the connections between the Arab/Muslim world and the Nazis. Something I've only really come across more recently is how interconnected they were. Nazi officers went to Egypt after the war. Sadat was somehow involved with Nazi espionage. The Grand Mufti visited Nazi concentration camps and convinced Bosnian Muslims to fight for the Axis, the Muslim Brotherhood, the predecessor of Hamas, owes something of its origins to Nazism, if not just in it's ideologies, in it's actual logistical make up. This doesn't negate the atrocities happening in Gaza, which are horrific, I condemn and need to stop as soon as Hamas release the hostages, but surely this history needs to be known!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t forget how the founders of Israel collaborated with the Nazis. Which is not surprising considering how the founders of Israel hated the Jews who were killed in the holocaust, calling them weak and disgusting and saying they deserved what they got because they didn’t fight back. Look it up. Read the history and the words of Theodor Herzl,Chaim Weissman, Jabotinsky etc.

This is relevant because of the Oded Yinon Plan. They are following scripture, the word עוֹלֵל, ʿôlēl which means 'Babe, infant, little one, a suckling' occurs 21 King James Bible Verses Of these verses: “Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.” -Psalm 137:9 “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.”-1 Samuel 15:3 “Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.” -Jeremiah 6:11 “Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.” -Hosea 13:16 The other verses are not much different. Indeed, it was a just and splendid judgment of God that this place should be filled with the blood of the unbelievers, since it had suffered so long from their blasphemies.” In fact, Raymond continues, “This day, I say, will be famous in all future ages, for it turned our labours and sorrows into joy and exultation; this day, I say, marks the justification of all Christianity, the humiliation of paganism, and the renewal of our faith.” Another account by a chronicler and eyewitness-priest, Albert of Aachen, describes the killing of fleeing women, and depicts crusaders as:: “seizing [infants who were still suckling] by the soles of their feet from their mothers’ laps or their cradles…and dashing them against the walls or lintels of the doors and breaking their necks […] they were sparing absolutely no gentile of any age or kind.”The incoherence inherent in a stranger to Abraham calling the children of Abraham gentiles notwithstanding, this account evokes the very same Psalm 137:9 imprecation against Babylon, in Latin, “beatus qui tenebit et adlidet parvulos tuos ad petram.” This is the polar opposite in the Quran in Surah Al-Tanwir, literally "The Englightenining" Surah, Aya 8-9, we have the death of a newborn is mentioned amongst the penultimate signs of the end of times, emphasizing the gravity of such an action. That child, now resurrected, is asked for what wrong doing was she murdered. This is to emphasize that she had done nothing wrong, for she had done nothing wrong and this is the day of retribution where those who omitted the evil are to be punished. This is the polar opposite in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqara Aya 190, which exhorts to fight unbelievers and not be "Aggressors", in the commentary of what it means to be aggressors, this was stated Al-Hasan Al-Basri stated that transgression (indicated by the Ayah): "includes mutilating the dead, theft (from the captured goods), killing women, children and old people who do not participate in warfare, killing priests and residents of houses of worship, burning down trees and killing animals without real benefit." This is also the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, `Umar bin `Abdul-`Aziz, Muqatil bin Hayyan and others. Muslim recorded in his Sahih that Buraydah narrated that Allah's Messenger said: "Fight for the sake of Allah and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Fight, but do not steal, commit treachery, mutilate, or kill a child, or those who reside in houses of worship." Well done Sam and Yasmine. Great to listen to both of you and brave by Yasmine! Regards from Scandinavia where our society rapidly is falling apart due to islam.
I'll always remember your appearance on Sam Harris's podcast a few years ago. Your story really touched me and made me aware of this issue. You are a hero for everything you do and write and I just wish that one day every ex muslim woman and man and everyone else around the world is safe from the threat of Islamism and can live in freedom and peace. Also, belated happy international women's day.

Yesterday in the Netherlands, we saw a bunch of "pro Palestine" protestors screaming on the top of their lungs when the holocaust museum was innaugerated by President Herzog and some other Jewish dignitaries + Amsterdam's mayor, who didn't even bother to demand that this protest took place further away from the synagogue, it was literally across. And there's this clip of of the guy going around saying "hamas is my brother", and another pic of someone having his right arm stretched in front of him, and those are "progressives?" I see a lot of replacement shame coming from social media in the Dutch language social media. A lot of people speak shame, that Amsterdam and the Netherlands is put to shame. Especially targeted at the mayor who wouldn't think to mandate that the protestors would take another spot to protest, and not in the heart of the historicd jewish quarters of WW2
@@davidanderson9664 no, I’m just frustrated at the level of hypocrisie and unequal moral treatment going on. and it was even worse than we thought. She (the mayor) decided that the attendees of this event should “hear” the grievances of pro Palestine protesters. Afterwards, politicians were not happy with how things were organized: When the ritual of christening the museum was performed, someone shouted, “get lost cancer Jew” : that is some style of vitriol right ? The mayor didn’t think for one second this crossed many lines. Years ago, an organisation called pegida organized a protest in front of a mosque, that was immediately dealt with and was seen as violation of Muslim sensibilities. So why don’t Jews get the same courteous treatment from a progressive mayor in her city ?
Here in Germany there are some schools which a very large minority or even a majority Muslim situation in some classes. The tradition here is to make a class trip to a concentration camp in 9th or 10th year. My daughter was on a class trip to Dachau last year and she was the only one who cried. She phoned me from there for emotional support and told me her classmates were eating during the guided tour and had to be told to stop. Luckily the only demonstrations round here have been against the AfD. If Germany starts allowing demonstrations against Israel then the world is just completely broken 😞.
@@CosmicDOf course, Herzog should have been arrested immediately for mass murder, as you very well know. Your callousness with regard to the 30.000 slaughtered people is beyond repair, especially in relation to that what the new museum represents.
Sam Harris is one of the few well-known people around the world who truly understand what Islam actually is and the threat it represents to modern civilization as we know it.
that may be true, but his MASSIVE blind spot is- he is in utter denial / unaware that HIS beliefs and philosophy are also an enormous threat to civilisation. hes a thoroughly biased ideologue.
his views on trump were like a hot flush karen's and the fact he favours biden over him means i find it impossible to respect him. seems like someones got dirt on him or he cares more about money, done the research and realized all his book sales are from loonie lefties for some reason.
I don’t believe a war against Iran would unite all of Iran against the US and it’s allies. Amir is right about the Iranians having a recent enough memory of pre Islam. They also have a very rich history that predates Islam, and many are very educated. There is much opposition to the current government I believe, even if it remains largely quiet or dormant. Much of the Iranian diaspora have family and friends back in Iran, and I think most are overwhelmingly opposed to the theocratic government.
It's shocking but Sam is the first commentator I have heard that has positioned the release of hostages as a necessary precondition for ceasefire. It seems so obvious, and yet, the silence on the hostages is deafening.
So Sonia, do you think it's ok for Israel to kill over 35,000 Palestinians and physically destroy the entire civil structure of Gaza; and starve millions???
This channel should have millions of views. Intelligent conversations with first hand experiences from around the world. This tells me people don't want to face the truth. To me its such fake outrage and the masses pretending to care about women and children. If they did, they would listen to the victims. I just don't get it.
Agreed! I listen to a podcast called 'unapologetic, the third narrative', which is by two young Palestinian Israelis who are peace activists. I don't agree with every word but I applaud their sentiment and their ongoing efforts to provide a different viewpoint. I don't get why they aren't the voices that are being listened to as much as Yasmine. These are the people who have lived, and are living it - surely their voices are the ones we should take most seriously!!
We have to ignore the name-callers. Thanks to :Yasmine Mohammed, Mosab Hassan Yousef and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, all former Muslims speaking out re the extremism, the violence, the deceit.
Thank you so much, Yasmine and Sam for this conversation and what felt almost like a support group. Thank you to the people who bravely asked questions and spoke up. I’ll donate to the cause now and join future events. Thank you again.
There are a lot of self-hating delulu jews living their best lives in Americas and refusing to go back to where their families came from to vacate the land of indeginous tribes for some reason. If you're European and especially Eastern European tho, you would have a different perspective on everything.
I joined the still justified imo opposition to the Iraq War. Before, it was unjustified for Michael Moore Bernie Sanders type reasons. Now I realize it was STUPID because it removed the enemy of Iran, and while Saddam was an enemy of Israel (and had once fired missiles at Riyadh?!!), Iraq was not a serious threat to Israel. Iran is. And I read that Israel had to be cajoled a bit by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Neocons to agree to support the US coalition. Anyhow, in joining that peace movement, I discovered weird communists hanging out with book tables. Later, I was recruited by friends into the pro-Palestine movement. Mind, it wasn't then presented to me as anti Israel, just opposing the Goliath of superiority of nuclear armed modern weapons Israel against ragtag freedom fighters with rather primitive mostly ineffective weapons. WHY NOT LET THEM HAVE A STATE? I thought of myself as standing for Truth. I didn't know, Palestinian-Arabs had rejected EVERY OFFER to build a peaceful state next to Israel. I didn't know Hamas totally rejected negotiations and only wanted total annihilation of Jewish people. There was a lot more I didn't know, while "standing for justice".
Wow I subbed just 2 days ago and was wondering if Sam ever had a talk with you, and here is a new one!Obviously you ve talked before and I got to find it.
thank you Yasmin.your voice is so important, especially for peace activists like me, who are confused and upset, learning the truth about our peace partners...
This might very well be the most correct honest conversation on this topic I've seen since October 7th. Thank you both for being some of the few having enough courage to talk honestly.
Brilliant exposition of the situation. Thank you Yasmine and Sam, I admire both of you so much, even when I disagree w Sam on one main issue (no relation to this topic) I’ve admire him from the first time I hear him on Dave Rubin and loved the group and the discussions they had. I learn much from it. 💕🙏
@@Re3iRtH yeah that’s a good one. He has some fair criticisms on DJTs character & morality. But his clear dislike of the man dominates his commentary on DJT.
Yeah, I know he comes across that way but I think he is clearly biased on this. I have listened to him for years as he debated against religion. Then he started trying to argue that humans have no free will, saying everything we think, say and do is caused by our past experiences...which is a bit far-fetched IMO as we still have choices to make every time we are at a crossroads or dilemma.
The light of reason and truth shines into the darkest hell circles of ideological and psychotic terrorists. God has bound loose all hell for pedagogical reason and a limited time. God alone is good - when God isn't angry. 🍷❤️🔥🌌
(receding parent translated): Thank you, Yasmine, for that wonderful interview. Can I upload this interview to my channel with Arabic translation, with a mention to your channel?
The fact that my far left friends, who are good and empathetic people refuse to acknowledge that what they want can only happen with the genocide of all the Israelis is infuriating to me.They woudnt support a genocide, but still they refuse to see the reality of the situation.Anyway, I would like to point out every Iranian I ever met, obviously outside of Iran, was a smart and kind person, greetings from Greece.
As a person of the left myself, it’s been infuriating watching this unfold with people I’d usually align myself with and people who I know are good people. I’m neither Jewish or conservative either etc.
@@maxfairclough3600I couldn’t agree more. I believe those who don’t support peace and want to fight hate with more hate are either very young or willfully instigating conflict for their own nefarious goals.
Far leftists that I’m aware of imagine a single democratic state for all the people in the area, including Jews. So do I. However, the reality is that this cannot happen until the Palestinians stop wanting to kill all Jews and, beyond that, Islam likewise - and more generally abandons its religious supremacism. Unfortunately, this might take generations, so I see no immediate solution.
Endorsing a regime change that bolsters the democratic movement from within is deemed imperative for Iran, as it holds the potential to mitigate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, foster peace, and bolster stability both regionally within the Middle East and globally.
As true as that is, the likelihood of Iran experiencing the corrective gut check you’re alluding to is knowingly, purposefully and maliciously prevented by Islam. Everything about that religion needs to be ended.
Kids from here , never lived in a Muslim country would simply lecture me ( Canadian from Bangladesh)on how I should respect the value of Islam and hijab etc. It's dilluitional.
Most Liberal Canadians are cutting their own throats with show of solidarity with Islam, Yet when i speak the truth , i am a Hateful racist, it just goes to show Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Aloha Yasmine and Sam (the names of my niece and nephew also) I feel so unspeakably grateful to have found your voices, at this time of my being a progressive intellectual who feels horrified at all the Left who are supporting values of Jihadists, in the name of freedom. I would like to ask you for a podcast suitable for sharing with my Democratic U.S. Senator, as to why her stance of "Free Palestine" and demanding an "immediate ceasefire", is not freeing Palestine to have Democratic values, such as women's rights, freedom of religion, freedom to question beliefs, separation of church and state, etc. Mahalo for all that you do!!!!
Yasmine has a podcast? I had no idea. Subscribed! BTW, Lookin great, gal! Thanks for this convo - a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stifling environment ☺️❤️
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity." Zuheir Mohsen (senior member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization 1977)
(1) Whether or not a Palestinian nationality exists or existed is irrelevant as to whether there were people living on that land that still have a right to be under a government that reflects their national aspirations and (2) nationalities and identities develop over time, so while the concept of a Palestinian may not have existed historically, it certainly exists now.
@@oremfrien 1. There already is a Palestinian state among the 22 Arab Islamic and 55 Islamic countries - it's called "Jordan" which is comprised of 70% what is now referred to as "Palestinians" (don't forget, Israel is similarly 80% Jewish. Under the original conceptualization of the Jewish homeland, both the Jordanian and Israeli land masses were to have constituted the Jewish state but Jordan was quickly parceled off by Britain as a Hashemite kingdom. Unfortunately, the Hashemites do not afford the "Palestinians" equal rights as they are afforded as citizens of Israel. Don't ask me why. 2. The "Palestiians" have been offered a state numerous times, initially when the state of Israel was declared by the UN in 1948 and numerous times subsequently by Israel - they refused, they want a 1 state solution 3. People throughout history have had to suffer migrations and population changes - particularly after long world wars. After WWII Pakistan was carved out of India, Predominantly German Prussia was returned to Poland by Germany, 800,000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries and millions of European Jews lost homes and possessions that were in their families for centuries and had to move to other countries...like Israel. Why, I wonder, does the world rail against the displacement/dispossession of only this group of people when there are those indiginous to Australia, New Zealand, North, South and Central American countries whose homelands were forever changed by migrating peoples? 4. If the world had not for millenia subjected the Jewish people to pogroms, expulsions, inquisitions (lasting hundreds of years and pursuing Jewish Spaniards into the New World) and culminating in the worst genocide in human history, perhaps there would have been no need to re-establish themselves in the ancient homeland in which they maintained a continuous presence throughout history. Through their heinous actions and continued prejudice, the world is responsible for this need and they are the same ones that begrudge the Jewish people their tiny homeland. Ironically, there are chants now for Jews to "go back to Poland" but when they were in Poland they were exhorted to go back to Palestine. Which is it?
@@rhodaberger7262 Please see these responses numbered in respect your four points: 1. Jordan is not a Palestinian state other than that it has a Palestinian majority. It is ruled by the Hashemites (who are a foreign dynasty) and the Circassian and Bedouin elite. Regardless, this is entirely irrelevant since Palestinians (just like the J*ws) have the right to live in their ancestral homeland (which was never Transjordan). If you are asking why Jordan treats Palestinians differently than ethnic Jordanians, it is to preserve the Bedouin and Circassian legal supremacy which was actually how the Hashemites unified the territory in the 1920s - when there were no Palestinians in Jordan and when the population of the territory was roughly 200,000 people. It’s important to understand that there is a historical and meaningful difference between the Fellah (settled peasant sharecropper Arab population) - which most Palestinians are - and the Bedouin (nomadic or semi-nomadic Arab population) and the two groups have longstanding enmities as the Fellah see the Bedouin as violent raiders and the Bedouin see the Fellah as resource hoarders. 2. Whether the Palestinians want a one-state solution or a two-state solution is independent of whether they have the right to be self-governing in their own land. Unreasonableness is irrelevant to cultural and governmental rights. There are some Israeli politicians and Zi*nist commentators who want a one-state solution to the exclusion of a Palestinian state and I believe that we would both agree that the presence of this unreasonableness does not invalidate the right for J*ws to self-govern. 3. Most people would argue that forcible displacement and ethnic cleansing of people was a morally bad idea that happened to be popular between 1918-1950. We shouldn’t implement morally bad ideas simply because they’ve been implemented before. 4. Whether J*ws have a right to state (and I would agree that they do) has no bearing on whether the Palestinians have a right to state.
Yasmine and Sam Thank you very much the enlightening discussion! 🙏🙏👏👏👏👏As a person who lived and breathed under a religious totalitarian regime like IRI, I realized that I could feel some of your points with my blood and flesh! It just blows my mind and can’t truly believe when I see how the Western liberals react to the current chaos!
Especially given how Islamist theocracy has made it abundantly clear that they intend to annihilate everything about every plank in woke and left wing platforms.
When Gaza is pronounced in the Arabic dialect in an English conversation, as a westerner that always sounds to me like the speaker identifies with the decade long Palestinian peoples focus on their past suffering and how it defines them. The 900,000 Jewish people who were expelled/fled from Arab countries don’t define themselves as victims nor do the holocaust survivors of 6,000,000 Jews who were slaughtered by the Nazis. Jewish people aren’t currently camping out across Europe demanding their homes and their dead back. They grieve, they remember but most importantly they focus on the future. I encourage the Palestinian people to do the same. If they find their religion doesn’t allow this option, they have two options: leave that religion or get used to suffering because you’ll get nowhere with a victim mindset.
A lot of people refuse to see the current moral emergency bc they liken it to slavery. They believe we’re being 'racist' by taking a stand against Islam & Hamas. They’re clueless & very stubborn in their cluelessness. I agree fully with the guy who said more films need to be made about Islam and all the problems it’s caused, past and present. I have a background in acting & film and have a film idea on this very topic. I need to get the darn thing finished! Great discussion and questions, everyone. Thanks to all!
We are definitly witnessing a separation of the souls and spirits into ideological and pseudo-religious enslaved minds driven by hate, self-righteousness and stubbornness - and a freely, peaceful and independent thinking people without the urgent need of permanently judging on differently believing or non-believing people. Another prophecy comes true.
As the secular Jewish offspring of Holocaust survivors I have many of the same sentiments as have been shared here, which I feel somewhat exonerates me for not compromising my stance on Hamas and Israel as my leftists intellectual friends would have me do, to the point that they want to do an intervention to convince me of the error of my ways. I have had to cut myself away from them and I'm incredibly sad that this may be a more common occurrence among other rational, moral people and their social justice warrior friends.
I somewhat disagree with Sam about the western take on the conflict. It seems more like a binary "oppressed/oppressor" analysis from the left. Israel is more powerful and therefore less justified The rest of the world I do think antisemitism plays a big role.
Hahahah Israel is more powerful so there not justified in waging war against radical jihadists who massacred 1300 civilians and took hostages? Fuck off.
I’m thinking yay, Sam Harris finally putting out a podcast over 20 minutes again! And yay again finally back to Islam instead of just meditation! But it’s someone else’s podcast. Thank you Yasmine!
The basic dilemma that causes moral cowardice/inaction is that people who want peace aren't willing to start an actual fight in an attempt at peace, because that would feel hypocritical and contradictory. Yet haters do welcome an actual fight, because peace is not their primary value. The asymmetry is real, perhaps insurmountable.
Yasmine, TH-cam only saw fit to recommend your content to me now. 100000 thank you's for your moral clarity, rational thought, eloquence, sensitivity and humanity. How do we put you in charge of something governmental
The part where Yasmine said 'us vs them' summarize everything we see in this world. Grew up muslim and I left many years ago, I realized how deep the hatred my teachers planted in me when I was in madrasa (islamic school). It's always about muslim vs jews & christian and I remember how spiritful my teachers said they wanted to just see jews killed. It was too much hatred covered my eyes, even when i was a teenager. You never saw muslim takes credit if a terrorist attack happens, because it's jihad against non-believers and it's okay bcs you get reward in afterlife. Ofc, victim mentality is deeply ingrained. Hadits and Quran simply their guide, nothing else. You can't criticize it, unfortunately. I am from Indonesia. Leaving the islam is just so hard for me to deal on the backlash, but I've gained my peace now. Yasmine, I support you fully on your doing to spread awareness about islamic ideology. I've dealt with that shit in the past and I am glad to see a brave woman to speak up about this. I've dealt too much hatred already since I decided to not wear hijab anymore, but you do beyond my own encouragement. Thank you, Yasmine.
❤️🩹 I’m so glad you’ve found your peace now. It’s a long difficult journey to overcome religious trauma. Please reach out to my org for community and support www.freeheartsfreeminds.com xxx
Is Jakarta or Java still safe for non-Muslims, I mean you can find refuge in the more Christian areas, I assume. Greetings from a Christian in the Philippines!
Yasmine, have you listened to Einat Wilf? She is a remarkable woman, a spokesperson for Israel and Zionism. She reveals the true nature of the conflict and the Palestinian myth in her books and talks so brilliantly. Although she is not under the delusion of the Arab world all of a sudden recognising the state of Israel and living peacefully with Jewish people any time soon, she finds hope in the Arab world’s young generation to modernise and transform its religion views, accept Israel into its region and coexist peacefully. We see this trend with the gulf countries and Abraham accords but it will certainly be a long process but who knows we might witness peace in our lifetime.
His point that history showed us that the Nazis not only gave the people of Germany the encouragement they needed to accept the killing of Jews but also inflamed the people of many other countries in Europe is an important point that should be applied to what is happening in the United States today. It seems many people are searching for a charismatic leader (who may be using these people for his own personal desire for power) who will validate their hidden feelings of dislike of people who are not like them because of color, religion or the perceived unearned economic status of these people. The holocaust proved that it only took one man's stirring oratory to fill stadiums with cheering followers to unleash the evil that may lay dormant in all of us.
7:35 "What can we do about that?" Definitions of tеrrоr are clear and the laws against tеrrоr do not depend on what that woman says or thinks. Everyone who is directly or indirectly supporting tеrrоr should be prosecuted. Unless we make sure that the law is enforced even (and specially) on people in highest positions, nothing will change. We should start with U.N. General Secretary.
Nazis and turks regarded
themselves as victims of jewish people or Armenians. Hitler took the non reaction of most of the world to the armenian genocide as encouragement.
Sam Harris has been right about Islam, Islamism and Jihadism from September 12th, 2001. Thanks Jasmine for your great podcast!
he's been right but I think he's still downplaying it to this day. but we're starting to see the ugly face of the monster more and more now.
that the west did it
He's been right about pretty much everything. Lmao

Very intelligent comment , THANK YOU ,, LIBERATE IRAN FROM ISLAM!!
to be fair, students in the US would have no impact on Iran and may even have a negative impact as Iran would try to play down domestic concerns as foreign inspired
My question has always been, why is it always Iranians who proudly claim the “ex-muslim” title. Majority are always Iranian.

The story of how the Iranian Islamic revolution happened is extremely relevant here. It was an alliance between islamists and the far left that gave rise to the current situation after the left got betrayed and killed and oppressed by the islamists
Yes nothing to do with the CIA coup over throwing their democratically elected leader. The stupidity here is astounding
I mean it is right out in the open and yet people just deny and pretend that never happened. Not even 60 years ago....
The only lordship is that of the creator, no station into which man was brought into the lands of Islam was to any degree as bad as the repugnant chattel slavery brought by the primitive tribalism inherent in their texts, for example, the word עוֹלֵל, ʿôlēl which means 'Babe, infant, little one, a suckling' occurs 21 King James Bible Verses Of these verses:
“Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”
-Psalm 137:9
“Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.”
-1 Samuel 15:3
“Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.”
-Jeremiah 6:11
“Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.”
-Hosea 13:16
The other verses are not much different. Infact it is always in association with violence. Indeed these verses are the reason why in the Crusades the sense of pious rejoicing at massacre does not appear to be the product of later theologizing; it is also found, in the account of the eye-witness Raymond of Aguilers:
“in the Temple and porch of Solomon, men rode in blood up to their knees and bridle reins. Indeed, it was a just and splendid judgment of God that this place should be filled with the blood of the unbelievers, since it had suffered so long from their blasphemies.” In fact, Raymond continues, “This day, I say, will be famous in all future ages, for it turned our labours and sorrows into joy and exultation; this day, I say, marks the justification of all Christianity, the humiliation of paganism, and the renewal of our faith.”
Another account by a chronicler and eyewitness-priest, Albert of Aachen, describes the killing of fleeing women, and depicts crusaders as:: “seizing [infants who were still suckling] by the soles of their feet from their mothers’ laps or their cradles…and dashing them against the walls or lintels of the doors and breaking their necks […] they were sparing absolutely no gentile of any age or kind.”The incoherence inherent in a stranger to Abraham calling the children of Abraham gentiles notwithstanding, this account evokes the very same Psalm 137:9 imprecation against Babylon, in Latin, “beatus qui tenebit et adlidet parvulos tuos ad petram.”
Albert describes a massacre occurring, in cold blood, on the second day following the conquest, painting a scene that is as horrific as it is realistic and detailed: "Girls, women, matrons, tormented by fear of imminent death and horror-struck by the violent murder wrapped themselves around the Christians’ bodies in the hope to save their lives, even as the Christians were raving and venting their rage in murder of both sexes.
Evoking several of these verses in practice:
- (Num 31:17-18) Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
- (Deut 7:2, 9:3, Num 21) thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them...
- (Deut 20:16-17) thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth
- (Josh 6:21, 8:24-27, 10:, 11:11-14,21-22) And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword... And cut off their thumbs and their great toes... He left none remaining:
- (Judg 18:27) And they took [the things] which Micah had made ...and came unto Laish ...and smote them with the edge of sword burnt city fire.
This is the polar opposite in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqara Aya 190, which exhorts to fight unbelievers and not be "Aggressors", in the commentary of what it means to be aggressors, this was stated Al-Hasan Al-Basri stated that transgression (indicated by the Ayah):
"includes mutilating the dead, theft (from the captured goods), killing women, children and old people who do not participate in warfare, killing priests and residents of houses of worship, burning down trees and killing animals without real benefit."
This is also the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, `Umar bin `Abdul-`Aziz, Muqatil bin Hayyan and others. Muslim recorded in his Sahih that Buraydah narrated that Allah's Messenger said: "Fight for the sake of Allah and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Fight, but do not steal, commit treachery, mutilate, or kill a child, or those who reside in houses of worship."
It is reported in the Two Sahihs that Ibn `Umar said, "The Prophet forbade killing women and children."
بابتداء القتال أو بقتال من نهيتم عن قتاله من النساء والشيوخ والصبيان والذين بينكم وبينهم عهد أو بالمثلة أو بالمفاجأة من غير دعوة
"To kill those whom you were forbidden to from women, elderly, children and those whom betwixt you is a treaty or custom or by surprise or without cause"
-Tafsir Al-Zamakshari of the meaning of Aggressors in the Aya
More hadith from Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah:

"The prophet forbids the killing of women, children, and the elderly"
This is the polar opposite in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Anfal Ayah 61 in which even oath breaking deniers/unbelievers are allowed to sue for peace states if the unbelievers they ask for peace, give it to them.
The modifiable testament testament commands indiscriminate killing, genocide, plunder, mutilation, enslavement, or torture of enemies, including women, on the other hand.Surah Al-Baqara Aya 190 limits war to those who fight against Muslims, prohibits transgression, and implies respect for human dignity and life Indeed it is what precedes the famous "sword verse", always cited out of context.
God did bring down the Qur’an, Mohamed is his Messenger.
Wonderful comment! Thank you
Sorry to hear you were subjected to this hatefulness - in the US?
Thanks for sharing your experience
Have you not heard the hatred coming out of the mouths of normal every day Israeli kids and adults alike? Not to mention their politicians and rabbis...It is clear that this goes both ways so why try to make out it's a Muslim thing? Besides, who holds all the power here? and who is oppressing who? Don't you think the oppressed people have a right to be pissed off? Meanwhile, the oppressors manufacture utter lies in their hideous propaganda to try to justify their murderous campaign.

Same. I choose sanity over extremism on either side. That is basically what is comes down to.
I’m left of center and entirely support Israel in the current conflict and am very grateful for what I have learned about islamicists from Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Yasmine Mohammed, and others. If by “the left” you mean the Looney Left - the “progressive” extremists, yeah, even we normal liberal lefties are left by them. And vice versa.
I’ve felt the same thing, definitely!

Thanks Yasmine. You are fighting the good fight with wonderful insights, immense human kindness, and superb content. 😊

Thank you Yasmine for sharing your courageous story and Sam Harris for your clear moral thinking.
Exactly, clear, moral thinking.
I know, right? Jews don't get to commit one lousy genocide after all they've been through? They can't shoot four lousy Arab kids walking out in the open without people getting all ragey about it? Dang.
Clear moral thinking to justify genocide. This is textbook worthy.

Jasmin, you are so good. We thank you for bringing Sam to the show and being equally remarkable. I am fascinated by your stories and perspective. Much love from🇮🇱

john mearsheimer listening this man. He is academic secular American professor what he say is different more than what may say biased Muslim like me I am Muslim maybe I am have my bias but let for second religion people and listen fair professor.
Yasmin is amazing. Her book is amazing! She’s doing great things for people who need help. Amazing work!
@@waitaminute2015 you’re a good friend. Most Jews got complete silence from their non Jewish friends
@@waitaminute2015 Mind you she's Turkish. She should know a thing or two about it but no. Sadly I see this attitude with lots of secular Turks. They still haven't figure out what's going on, they can't see the big picture or maybe I don't know, they don't want to see it because it's quite depressing especially if you've got children.
Yasmine and Sam, thank you for your sane and kind words . We need more rational leaders like you.
Just remember that you are actually not alone. You have friends in every country and we will always do our part.
(And it's also the reason the devil isn't done with the Jews either, hence the hatred towards you.)
While we're at it, an important side note.
I have been following Sam Harris since 2004 when he published The End Of Faith. It's been 20 years and I am glad people are listening to him. No matter the topic of the conversation is, we have to be able to talk about it without fear and clear thinking. Keep growing Sam!!!
Excellent job interviewing Sam Harris. We are overdue for another interview on my show Yasmine!

That child, now resurrected, is asked for what wrong doing was she murdered. This is to emphasize that she had done nothing wrong, for she had done nothing wrong and this is the day of retribution where those who omitted the evil are to be punished.

How many dead children is enough? So the killing keeps going until Hamas releases all the hostages? That's what you are saying?

Which is not surprising considering how the founders of Israel hated the Jews who were killed in the holocaust, calling them weak and disgusting and saying they deserved what they got because they didn’t fight back.

And there's this clip of of the guy going around saying "hamas is my brother", and another pic of someone having his right arm stretched in front of him, and those are "progressives?"
I see a lot of replacement shame coming from social media in the Dutch language social media. A lot of people speak shame, that Amsterdam and the Netherlands is put to shame. Especially targeted at the mayor who wouldn't think to mandate that the protestors would take another spot to protest, and not in the heart of the historicd jewish quarters of WW2
Thank you from NYC my Dutch friend. Cheers! D.A., NYC
@@davidanderson9664 no, I’m just frustrated at the level of hypocrisie and unequal moral treatment going on.
and it was even worse than we thought. She (the mayor) decided that the attendees of this event should “hear” the grievances of pro Palestine protesters.
Afterwards, politicians were not happy with how things were organized:
When the ritual of christening the museum was performed, someone shouted, “get lost cancer Jew” : that is some style of vitriol right ?
That is absolutely disgustingly horrifying is actually happening proudly and protected in Europe in 2024
@@CosmicDOf course, Herzog should have been arrested immediately for mass murder, as you very well know.

We Muslims are pretty nice and smart lol. Keep drinking the kool aid tho. And Islamism ain’t Islam just like hentai isn’t anime.
One of the few shmucks.
The world doesn't care about hostages if they are Jewish.

You deserve protection. May you receive it. ❤
This channel should have millions of views. Intelligent conversations with first hand experiences from around the world. This tells me people don't want to face the truth. To me its such fake outrage and the masses pretending to care about women and children. If they did, they would listen to the victims. I just don't get it.
Absolutely! She is super underrated for her courage and great work

Thanks!

Maybe if Israel stopped occupying other people's land we'd see more peace
Far leftists that I’m aware of imagine a single democratic state for all the people in the area, including Jews. So do I. However, the reality is that this cannot happen until the Palestinians stop wanting to kill all Jews and, beyond that, Islam likewise - and more generally abandons its religious supremacism. Unfortunately, this might take generations, so I see no immediate solution.
The Left is insane. That's all I have to say.

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity." Zuheir Mohsen (senior member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization 1977)
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
(1) Whether or not a Palestinian nationality exists or existed is irrelevant as to whether there were people living on that land that still have a right to be under a government that reflects their national aspirations and (2) nationalities and identities develop over time, so while the concept of a Palestinian may not have existed historically, it certainly exists now.

@@rhodaberger7262 Please see these responses numbered in respect your four points:
Wow that quote about all living in Israel .. brilliantly clear. 🙏🇮🇱🙏

Especially given how Islamist theocracy has made it abundantly clear that they intend to annihilate everything about every plank in woke and left wing platforms.
Those who downplay the danger of Islam are Ben Affleck crazy fans 🤐🤐🤐

The problem is that there's also young people radicalized through social media too and many young people are actually more radicalized.
