it amazes me how often that happens..some take a tentative step , have a look at the foot then back at the cage and Nate and you can tell they know that Nate fixed it...theyre not daft.
I always like it when they take a couple steps and look back at you. I know nothing about how a cow perceives the world (ie: a dog knows humans can and do fix things for them) but it always seems to me they look back like "did you do that?"
Love your videos Nate! Great camera work, great knife work ! Clear audio and cuts right to the chase. No long drawn out songs, no soap opera drama, just the information we need and the stuff we want to see.
Hi I am Carine from Europe not to be confused with the " Karens" in USA and I just love men with an honest job and caring about it. Thank you so much Nate
After watching for a while, I now get all kinds of recommendations for many different "hoof" sites. Some are from out of country. The differences in the degree of professionalism are striking. I don't know how some of them do it, sometimes they seem barbaric. No doubt, they too must want to help the animals. You darn sure have the knowledge, equipment and... some **really sharp knives**. Makes a huge difference - the right tools for the job.
If you like longer form videos, Green Forest Life is very soothing. His videos are about an hour long, and it's just a Vietnamese farmer guy going around doing farmer stuff.
After learning about this over time, hands down NATE, you’re a complete professional…. Clean, precise, and confident. Wish there were more like you out there. I bet the cows do too. Thank you for the ongoing experience. 😊
Nate has a distinct cadence to his speech. I’ve also noticed that he almost never says the word “the.” It’s almost always “that” or “those.” Now you’ll never be able to unhear it, sorry.
Geeeeeze, I already watch these videos to relax and fall asleep and now there’s A FAN IN THE BACKGROUND?! I give myself 3 minutes TOPS before I’m passed out cold.
Hi Nate, i love watching your videos... they are informative and you have such a soothing way of communicating. As a completely naive individual to cow hoof care, i was wondering how these issues would have been resolved before the advent of human intervention ? Would these poor cows have been doomed? How are these issues resolved for hooved animals in the wild today? ❤
So what did they do prior to all the crushes, and saws, etc. When did Hoof trimming become a thing? It's absolutely fascinating, especially for those of us that have never even SEEN a cow up close. It just got me wondering what they USED to do to help cows? Thanks Nate! LOVE your channel!!! ❤
Hi Nate! I just want to say that I really love watching your hoof trimming videos! Listening to you as you trim the cows is very soothing. I have a question for you. I know you sometimes model out the center area of hooves, but how come you don't do it on all of your trims? I was just curious. Hope to hear from you on your next video. And I hope you're having a great day!
Happy Sunday morning (8am) Nate & Family. Thank you for my early morning education with the first coffee of the day! It's blue sky and sunshine here in the Welsh Marches, wishing you all a good week.
I'm curious if you sanatize your tools between cows or farms. Why or why not? Also, wanted to tell you that I found out clorahexadine is commonly used at vet offices for cleaning surfaces, tools and treating certain wounds and skin issues. Its also one of the more commonly used cleaning products used for people who keep reptiles. F10 is probably the biggest alternative but its way more expensive and i don't think it can be used to cleans wounds. Super interesting!
Based on how much fluid came out and where you were pressing, it seems like the cavity continues to extend beyond where you trimmed. It even looked that way on the close up. Am I seeing things or did I miss something?
I can't say for certain, but i would guess that the horn is not fully detached in those areas and timing it away would do nothing but damage healthy corium.
See like, idk how I found myself on this side of youtube- but I did and I am enjoying every minute of it. This is amazingly relaxing and educational to me lol. Good on you for taking care of these animals!
Thank you for your lovely and informative videos, Nate. I'm in the middle of moving house and I was looking for some ASMR to calm me and help me sleep, but then I saw your video and it has worked much better!! Night night, and see you in the next one 😊
Question- do you need to disinfect the blade before working on another cow? Is dermatitis contagious in animals when using the same tools? Also cute wrap color for the ladies! I like it👍🏽😄
How many pairs of gloves do you go through in a day? How often do you need to change them or wash or whatever? Can you add that to your faqs at some point please. Thank you.
Just seems like there’s a lot that could have been removed around the lesion toward the middle of the hoof. It just looks like a deep cavity is left, which is going to collect stuff, right?
Just wondering, do these cases smell really bad? I have cyst forming acne, not the worst it could be but have had a few cysts needing removal over the decades because of discomfort or aesthetics and the smell if the content gets released because the doc broke the cyst wall accidentally is usually quite intense and bad. This, I think, depends highly on what bacteria are in it so hence my curiosity about any odors or lack thereof.
Hey Nate! Another great video! One question, though. I noticed when you applied pressure that the hoof appeared to drain from the top of the foot where your fingers were. Was there damage on top as well?
I have a few questions! Why are all of your trimmed cows drooling? Is that okay? Do you wash your knife, after you use it to clean dirt from hoof? Doesn't a knife with dirt on it cause more infection on infected claw? How do you keep it all hygienic and do you need to do that at all?
What made you use the squirt bottle to rinse off? Usually you don’t do that because you haven’t identified the need to clean it off until you’ve investigated.
So after watching some of your shorts I've started have a question now i COULD google it but you seem like a more reliable source Does the cow or any hooved animal have nerves in their hooves? It doesn't look like it but i wanna ask just to be sure
How does this heal in the wild? I guess not only domestic hoof animals have such white line defects. Do the suffer until they die, or doesn't happen to them?
I have no problem with the fans in the background, I expect background noises for this environment and situation. I'm just happy there isn't music over it, isn't my thing.
Hey Nate I have a question for you...I watch all your vlogs and I also watch The Hoof GP... Why is it that cows and bills always have issues with their outside claws and more the insides??
Dear Nate, has a cow ever twitched and sent your block flying. For some dumb reason I feel a satisfaction that I can tell right away what steps you will take. Talk about passive learning.
Do any of these clients have dogs? My dogs would probably think those hoof shavings irresistible. Do you have to keep clients dogs away is the question really cause im sure there are dogs lol
Cow takes a few steps and looks back to say "I feel much better, ya done did good! Thank you!"
it amazes me how often that happens..some take a tentative step , have a look at the foot then back at the cage and Nate and you can tell they know that Nate fixed it...theyre not daft.
I'm no farmer just a trucker who likes learning new things , thanks again Nate for another great video , hope the cow heals up nicely
Do you ever haul cows?
I wouldn’t use the word “just” and “trucker” in the same sentence! Thanks for what you do!
I always like it when they take a couple steps and look back at you. I know nothing about how a cow perceives the world (ie: a dog knows humans can and do fix things for them) but it always seems to me they look back like "did you do that?"
I'm sure the cows appreciate the fans. There's no problem hearing you over the fans. Thanks for sharing.
Nate does voiceovers when he edits his videos
What? I can't hear you!
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to Nate the Hoof Guy.
Had to throw in the traditional greeting. Great video as always Nate.
I love how Nate opens with a pause after “welcome back to …” … Nate the hoof guy !
Very dramatic !
Awe Miss Moo was in pain from that, but I bet getting rid of that fluid helped a ton!! Thanks Nate, you are awesome!
Love your videos Nate! Great camera work, great knife work ! Clear audio and cuts right to the chase. No long drawn out songs, no soap opera drama, just the information we need and the stuff we want to see.
Your videos are such a source of comfort to me. So satisfying to watch and you’ve perfected your narration I love it
Hi I am Carine from Europe not to be confused with the " Karens" in USA and I just love men with an honest job and caring about it. Thank you so much Nate
Thank you for doing these videos. I know how much time it takes to edit, do voiceovers, etc.
Ever so careful Nate! Wonderful work on this lady’s foot…..Knife work and close up greatly appreciated!👏🏼 God Bless you and all the bovines🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
Hello Nate. I hope the family is doing well. Another great video. Thanks so much.
"AYEEEYAH!!!! ZEE LITTLE BLACK DOT OF DEATH!!!!"
Thank you for putting out these videos Nate. It must take a lot of time.

Just what the doctor ordered. I was stressing, then I saw that Nate had a new video up, and I was like, "Oh yeah, that's the ticket!"
If you like longer form videos, Green Forest Life is very soothing. His videos are about an hour long, and it's just a Vietnamese farmer guy going around doing farmer stuff.
Always interesting and educational, Nate. Looking forward to the next one.
After learning about this over time, hands down NATE, you’re a complete professional…. Clean, precise, and confident. Wish there were more like you out there. I bet the cows do too. Thank you for the ongoing experience. 😊
You do such a careful job with your knife work. It is super impressive how much you care about your work A+++ my man.
Hehe I think you got a new satisfied client! She turned around and said thank you in the end. ❤
Nate has a distinct cadence to his speech. I’ve also noticed that he almost never says the word “the.” It’s almost always “that” or “those.” Now you’ll never be able to unhear it, sorry.
Your voice calms me down! I dunno why but its so relaxing. Love it and love the cows ❤❤
Geeeeeze, I already watch these videos to relax and fall asleep and now there’s A FAN IN THE BACKGROUND?! I give myself 3 minutes TOPS before I’m passed out cold.
Thank you!! I love your channel. You’re my favorite hoof trimmer on yt!! 😊
I think that the sound of the fans is kind of soothing. like white noise. :)
Hi Nate, i love watching your videos... they are informative and you have such a soothing way of communicating. Every time I see fluid come out I can imagine the cow saying “Ahhhhhh that feels better” if you have ever put a hot needle in a fingernail
Ive never touched a cow, yet here I am watching a guy tend to a cows hoof, lol
Logical. We don’t need to actually touch something to be interested in it. We aren’t children.
@@tsx3214or not! TX - say no more. UGH
It's strange, right? I find the cow hoof videos calming and educational. It's okay to like them.
They are surprisingly soft, or the one I petted at the farmers market was. But it was a juvenile. They’re like big grass puppies
Not to be morbid, but I'm fairly sure most of us have had a hamburger.
Your step by step explanation of how you help the treatment and healing process is excellent. Thank you for your clarity.
You help these girls a lot! Thanks!
Love your vids Nate…so informative and enjoyable!
👏👏👏👍👍👏👏👏

Thank you, Nate for another informative and interesting video. Love your style! ❤

I watch a lot of good videos Nate is clearly the best
Nice work Nate! I’d like to see you post more videos if you have time!
I'm curious if you sanatize your tools between cows or farms. Why or why not?

Chlorhexidine is also used with humans as well
He does sanitize his tools, between each cow. He takes no chances of spreading infection.
Good job as always.
Excelente cirujía y curación, bendiciones este profesional.
Thank you Nate !!
Based on how much fluid came out and where you were pressing, it seems like the cavity continues to extend beyond where you trimmed. It even looked that way on the close up. Am I seeing things or did I miss something?
I was wondering that as well and came to the comments to see if anyone else mentioned it.
I can't say for certain, but i would guess that the horn is not fully detached in those areas and timing it away would do nothing but damage healthy corium.
@DarkxxPixie negative he did a piss poor job on that trim
3:26-3:30 he talks about removing as much hoof horn as he can SAFELY remove
See like, idk how I found myself on this side of youtube- but I did and I am enjoying every minute of it. This is amazingly relaxing and educational to me lol. Good on you for taking care of these animals!

Nate is very delicate with the cows. Very smooth, we almost never see a drop of blood.
I would have expected more of the corium to be affected, it was kind of small area. 💚💚
She was still limping a bit after you were finished. Was there still discomfort, or was she just limping because she remembered how it hurt before?
We don't live far from you. Would love to meet you all some time. We have a 40acre farm but just have a couple pasture puppies now.
Thank you, Nate
From one little hole, "It's all got to go."
Have you ever accidentally glued yourself to a cow, Nate? Love your videos! 🐮🖤
They know him and that he can make painful things better. Cows are very smart. Smarter than many humans these days…
Good vid, thanks for posting
Omg you rinsed it before! I'm so happyyyy
Question- do you need to disinfect the blade before working on another cow? Is dermatitis contagious in animals when using the same tools?
Also cute wrap color for the ladies! I like it👍🏽😄
did ot again, great job Nate ❤
Satisfaction/ relief @ 1:18!
Nice good trim Nate.
Omg these are my favorites
Just wondering, do these cases smell really bad?

Do you wash your knife, after you use it to clean dirt from hoof? Doesn't a knife with dirt on it cause more infection on infected claw? How do you keep it all hygienic and do you need to do that at all?
Looked like a fairly hard summer hoof to carve
Why did this video came up to my feed 5 times in a row
What made you use the squirt bottle to rinse off? Usually you don’t do that because you haven’t identified the need to clean it off until you’ve investigated.
Did I see liquid coming out the back
That was the draining fluid taking a route over the top of the hoof
Do you think stuff could get under the hole were the cut was made near the bottom of the toe where there's space left.
So after watching some of your shorts I've started have a question now i COULD google it but you seem like a more reliable source
Does the cow or any hooved animal have nerves in their hooves? It doesn't look like it but i wanna ask just to be sure
The part that is trimmed is like fingernail.
How does this heal in the wild? I guess not only domestic hoof animals have such white line defects. Do the suffer until they die, or doesn't happen to them?
Nice job! Do you have to clean up the shavings and stuff before you leave? Or does the farmer do that?
That was amazing...how'd ya do that...
I have no problem with the fans in the background, I expect background noises for this environment and situation. I'm just happy there isn't music over it, isn't my thing.
I am new to this channel. How on earth do you get a cow to stand still for something so painful? I didn’t notice any squirming or struggling.
I hope you can enhance the video’s resolution.that’s be better.❤
Such charming toes they are!
Hey Nate I have a question for you...I watch all your vlogs and I also watch The Hoof GP... Why is it that cows and bills always have issues with their outside claws and more the insides??
Audio sounds fine
Rather listen to background noise than music tbh
Ever had a block fall off after putting it on the back of its hoof while putting glue on it? 😅
do you use the glue stick to widen the hoof? that's smart!
It's funny how you say use like that chlorohexidine because it's clear and the hoof GP guy says the same thing about using the red stuff.
Why do you rub the glue to the side of the hoof before placing the block?
❤❤❤
I want to know what you do if both hooves are damaged?
Second from Romania.
More videos ! Longer videos!
Is it not a bit dicey putting the block on around the glue and that not wearing gloves or something??
Are there any new calves? I think I'd have a hard time staying away from the cute baby cows.
Hey Nate do you have a second channel called Nate the hoof guy cow care?
There is a red spot on the top of the hoof. Is it related to the injury?
And here I thought it was going to be the HUGE C-SHAPED CRACK on the other toe. THAT'S why I don't trim hooves; I'd be awful!!
You are good
These defects are never obvious to me!
I was just wondering, how do you keep your glue gun from getting plugged up?
Dear Nate, has a cow ever twitched and sent your block flying.
For some dumb reason I feel a satisfaction that I can tell right away what steps you will take. Talk about passive learning.
Have you heard of or tried Hoof Grip Pro, yet?
Do any of these clients have dogs? My dogs would probably think those hoof shavings irresistible. Do you have to keep clients dogs away is the question really cause im sure there are dogs lol
poor cow
