I like when things that get restored are put to the test in the end, like here where you actually grind some coffee.

Yes how can someone do all that work and NOT??? This channel is not "my thing" per se, but it's so well done it's appealing to my love for art and antiques. I do love making things but have way different skills and equipment. But he always does excellent work. Top notch. Pristine clean. Good technique and implementation.
If I had a sandblaster, I wouldn't ever do anything else.

I like the way you just use a quick squirt of lubricant to loosen things up, which is all that’s needed. Other restorers use a ridiculous amount, most of which ends up on the table and is unnecessary. By the way, outstanding sandblasting - mesmerising to watch and great clarity through the window.

Lucky for you too there’s places that sell slightly refurbished antique items which you can purchase to your hearts content, I know no idea of their whereabouts but I know they exist

This is my favorite of all the coffee grinder restorations... simply because of the snap of the paint breaking off the screws. IT'S SO SATISFYING!!!
Honestly the filming is on point you get the perfect angles, and editing is just as good, lots op youtubers try making this type of content but can't get it to this level

My initial reaction was... "Another coffee grinder?" But after watching the video, I changed my mind. That is a beautiful grinder. Just look at the turning wheel. It's a work of art. I want it.

Sandblasting wood . . . first time I see someone doing that 🤯
Well i've seen a whole log house sandblasted from the inside (including the furniture). It does make the wood grain really stand out. Not easy to keep clean though.

Nothing that special here in switzerland... alot of our old wooden houses (300-400+ years old) get a sandblasting "facelift" sometimes inside sometimes outside and sometimes both. Quite expensive, but does really look good! Some carpenters don't like doing it, because they fear damaging the wood and the mess, so the just brush it clean (which doesn't really make less mess and isn't as half as quick as sandblasting)...
I've seen it done. They used walnut shells as it isn't as hard as "sand"...

I am a 66 year old woman. I am getting one of these and take it all apart and wrap each nut bolt spring in tissue and put it in a box.. On the outside will write priceless antique. Sent to TysyTube, will drive my kids nuts for years! Gotta love it
Amazing how you can remember where every part was before disassembly and how you just put it back where it belongs after restoration as if it were the most normal thing in the world to do.
I always tried restoration when I was younger, but the problem was when I reassembled the device back, I had always parts left and had no idea where they belonged before disassembly.
You can't imagine how many clocks, food-processors and other devices I broke in my life (and how much spanking I received when my parents discovered I was the one behind the "failed restoration"!)

There was something very satisfying about the little flecks of red paint popping off when you forced the screws. :-) And you reassembled it left-handed! I'm very pleased!

On a scale of 1-10, I give this a 10, +3 for the sandblasting.
Watching the sandblasting is better than meditation for relieving my stress.
10/10 the best quality sandblasting video I’ve ever seen. Was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t super cloudy inside the blast cabinet.
I get so warm and fuzzy when you, MM and R&R all come out with videos within a week of each other.

When watching you I think that you are the first person to take this object apart since it was assembled a long time ago.

Is it my imagination or is the base re-assembled the wrong way around? In the original, the wheel is on the right side of the word "ORIGINAL" but in the final reassembly, it's on the other side.

Yeah I noticed that too. I thought "well maybe he or the client are left handed and he just swapped it?" Guess not.
It also bugged me a little more than it should. Kinda disturbing how much it bothered me.
I think what I like most about this channel is tha OP just knows what needs to be delicately finessed and what can be whacked with the back of a screwdriver 🤣

Chill out, dude. Tysy is easily one of the best restoration channels on TH-cam. It was just an observation/joke. It was in no way meant to be criticism. Maybe he's just left-handed? Idk. Doesn't really matter.

Your sand blasting cabinet is set up correctly, we can see the process clearly, where others are foggy , great job as usual.

I don’t really know how I stumbled on your videos but I love them. I have no need for a sandblasting chamber or a powder coating system (though that wasn’t used this time) i still want them. It's weird to think about that almost all people that were around the time that this was made are now dead.
My first grade teacher was an ancient nun dressed in the habit of her order, like a penguin. That was 1974. But if anyone would be, that creature would most likely still be roaming this Earth today. Especially with this pending Halloween season upon the horizon.
