Even if you don't want to use it to actually grind stuff, some of your viewers might replicate without knowing that's dangerous.
Linseed oil on wood and blackened steel would be more authentic and safer 😃

Great video man! The only thing I would have done differently is NOT put any clear coat protectant on the actual grinding surfaces. I can't help thinking that every time you grind some coffee, potentially you're grinding a little clear coat in with it now. I wouldn't be too worried about the grinding surfaces getting corroded by not adding the clear coat, because coffee beans have protective oils in them. Keep up the good work my friend, you're very talented and are focused on quality restorations. Keep the videos coming.

I noticed that you often use the sand blaster on wood materials instead of "regular" sand paper or files. How's that? What's the differences between the two procedures? I assume that the sand blaster takes away less material than the paper, but since I never used one, I can only make guesses...

The pitting was deep and gives character, but I think it'll live another 100yrs. Good save! Nicely done.

Can someone tell me why bother to use paint remover first? Wouldn't the sandblasting take off the paint?

    • @Awrethien
      @Awrethien 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Smaller blasters can take longer to remove the paint. If you have a smaller one you need to make a judgment call on do you want to brush stripper on, and walk away for a little bit, or stand there holding the part as the paint is eaten away. Also there is the normal where and tear on the items themselves to think about if they are running for a long time repeatedly.

It takes too long to remove the paint with sandblaster.

      Yes, it's a shame.
      And it's too shiny.
Looks way too modern and souless.
A somewhat mismatched colors one could say...

      No, it wasn't.
I saw it on the google images.
But it's ok, since this is all just for entertainment and having fun your way, and not for museum purposes.

I began to restore things like you do (but not as professional as you), because of the videos from all of you. Thanks for your work and inspiration!

-This coffe has a very particular flavor, but I can't identify It.
-Oh! that must be "rustol owatrol", a powerful chemical agent for protecting surfaces that I've smeared all over the grinding blades
    -I feel dizzy
-Yeah, the coffe is so great you can feel dizzyness from the pleasure of drinking It
    -I think I've been poisoned
-Yeah, The love you feel for the coffe is like poison
    -I'm dying
-Yeah, I'm dying for another cup of coffee too
    -...
