I think I love Daisy as much as the restoration.
To see Teddy’s delight was heartwarming. He can treasure his special chair and it will be passed down the family. As an adult will say something like “My uncle David gave me this chair when I was a little kid”.
The honest repair will become part of its history and the word TEDDY will become blurred as it is polished by years of children sitting on it. Just as it should be. Another masterpiece. Oh, and give Daisy a cork from me and her thousands of fans.

Glad you chose the chair. I used to scout for children's wooden chairs, redo them and personalize them by painting a favorite storybook image.
I actually don't like doing chairs very much as they are always time consuming but I seem to do a lot of them 🤣🤣

I’m going to have my first grandchild (it’s a girl 🥹) in October so this one made me a little emotional. Seeing the repairs on the top of the rocker made it so much more personal and like it’s aged over the years and this is its scars from being used and played with. What a great gift for Teddy there David. The natural wood looks great. I bought an unfinished oak rocking chair for my wife when she was pregnant with our oldest son in 1976. I applied an antiquing gel which was very popular in the 70"s and we had the chair when we had our youngest son in 1980. Through the years there was wear and tear to the chair and finish so in 2010 I disassembled the chair for a re-glue, removed the finish, used a clear satin polyurethane and my wife made a seat and back cushion. We gave it to our oldest son when he had our 1st grandchild and he still has the chair to this day. On a visit a few years ago we stripped the finish and re-applied the same, but all of my glued repairs stayed intact after all of those years. I'm sure Teddy will get loads of use from his beautifully restored rocker from his favorite uncle. Cheers, Mate from this old, retired coot living the dream across the pond in Tennessee.

What a very sweet chair that Teddy will probably pass down to his children. Furniture for kids does make them feel special because they aren't swallowed by the full size of adult furniture. Aren't pets just pure delight? Daisy has come up with a fun, free, and simple game with a clothes line! My family used to have a dog who loved to swing; he put his front feet in the seat and then walked back and forth. He was a silly but very happy dog, just like Daisy.
