Ok, you got me. Seeing the “paddle” with the caption, “I made this for my butt,” caused me to cautiously go watch to find out what it was for.
Well, I'm pleased for him; but he should be careful when he inserts it, one end looks rather wide.
Poop knife.
no bro you got clickbaited admit it
At first glance, I thought I was a bike seat and that it looked a bit small and rather uncomfortable, but then cyclists seem a bit masochistic with their choice of seating, so kinda made sense.
i thought it was an... intimate divice 👁👁
I'm 47, but when i grow up i want to become Wesley and do whatever he does.
You can actually do edibles without being Wesley, but I guess it would involve more neon signs.
Become like Wesley you mean. Definitely need to grow up.
@@X22GJP Up, but not tall.
If I grow up, I will get drunk on my birthday. For some reason, I never succeed at getting drunk, so this birthday will be my 38th attempt.

Wesley says he's not a real wood worker.. then in one video expertly uses his Table saw, band saw, lathe, cnc, band clamps, shopsmith, oscillating sander, jig saw, carver, router table, every wood working tool in a pro shop etc etc.. Wesley.. You're a wood worker dude! And a good one!
Sounds more like machine operator to me.
Sometimes, it's not just about the size of the dog but the size of the fight inside the dog.
Figured a stool sample joke was coming and you didn't disappoint. But your dad making a stool....good one.
I replace all my desk chair wheels with those rollerblade wheels. Sometimes I go to push back from my desk a little ways and suddenly I'm on the other side of my office.
Wd 40 your floor. , as if wax
Where does one acquire said caster replacements?
I enjoyed the beginning, with the stool samples. Lol.
Perfect build.
Funny, I just today took stool samples from my dog to the vet.
That’s funny. The video is too long and scrolling through it didn’t help me figure out what that odd wooden piece was. I was starting to think it was something to dig into or scratch his butt. Your comment made me laugh. It’s a scoop for taking stool samples.
@@doglvr1 it's a cover for the lever that brings the stool up and down btw
I'm certainly glad I wasn't the one that broke it. I got scared for a minute, but then I realized I'd never met Wesley.
Hmmmmmm, now I'm suspicious. I think he doth protest too much :)

Would be, or is? You not sure?
How about a Baker'sdozenagonal?
Good to know. Thanks.
@@alankott3129 Sinister.. sneaky .. I like it.

Replacing the top and the wheels had me worrying that this was going to become the Shop Stool of Theseus.
just had the same exact thought when he took the wheels off 😂
"Not every project needs to be precious and perfect is what I keep telling myself"... You and me both.
Same here! Must be a lot of us out there. 🤣
While I’m not a huge fan of a segmented stool 😬I couldn’t help but stick around for the cheap jokes and sexy finishing shots… which gave me a good giggle. Thanks for the lessons and laughter Wesley. Cheers from Australia. 👍🏼
I found this channel through the mighty algorithm, but the stool sample opening made me subscribe xD Love the build, any project that breathes new life into otherwise landfill-bound things is worthy of praise, but even besides that it just turned out looking real nice. The matching lever handle is just the cherry on top.
Wesley, I come for the wood working and retro design, buy I stay for the silly sound affects you put in. Please dont ever stop doing it.
>fart noise
@@WesleyTreatthe only thing that could’ve made it better is a little subdued fart during the end scene insertion!
You table saw doesn’t make the Jetson sound anymore.
I'm hear for the dick jokes! 😂😂😂
Those beauty shots at the end were something else!!! That’s the quality content that TH-cam was made for!
I’m 63. Been doing maintenance work mechanic work welding manufacturing all my life along with building with wood. I love saving chairs and turning them into shop chairs. It’s also handy when you have extra company you just send the grandkids out to the shop and grab a couple more chairs.😆
You got me to subscribe by rolling around your shop like a six-year-old at the end. That brought me joy.
Ha, ha, from the thumbnail image, I thought you were making a fancy racing bike seat!
I am glad I was wrong. Great job!
I can't believe I left almost the exact same comment. Now I feel dumb, lol.
Oh my God I thought the same exact thing and throughout the whole video. I’m like is he gonna shape the thing into a bicycle seat and just sit on that? like when is the bicycle seat coming in. It ends up being the handle. I’m high. 😂
I had a much dirtier mind, and confusion. But my man made a Star Wars reference And I'm here for it. Hardware stores and lumber yards turn me on. Loved woodshop in highschool. My ex husband stole all my projects.

Thanks for sharing your stool sample. You should receive a box from Cologaurd in the mail soon.
When tapping wood, you can strengthen the threads by infusing some water thin superglue after cutting. Let it set and run the tap through again. Particularly with a set screw, the risk of thread stripping is high so you need all the help you can get.
Good idea
The fact that this man doesn't have a million subscribers is beyond understanding, as he certainly deserves it. Superb, sir.

Wow, Wesley, that is just stunningly beautiful! This is my first time watching you, and I loved it. 😊
Fixes broken stool. Makes it extra fancy and nice. Breaks stool and self screwing around in the end credits. LOL!
I have a feeling this one will be much more mishap-resistant than the original. 😊 A masterpiece.

Yes Wesley Treat, I’d love more woodworking in your content! I loved and still love your router table to your sortimo storage cabinet, to your hanger doors and the awesome starburst shapes. You’re better than you think, you and Pask Makes are similar in your variety of making and I’m here for it anytime
Be careful about that WWGOA membership offer. It auto-renews at over $100 per year. They also auto renewed mine about a week or 2 earlier than they were supposed to. To their credit they do provide some really cool content and will email you ahead of the auto-renew date to warn you it is about to happen. They also quickly issued a refund to me when i contacted them after they charged my renewal. So not a bad organization, just be sure you are prepared for that renewal fee.
Thanks for the stool sample.

What a smooth roundover can do... wow! And pretty fancy paddle as well! Meeeee.... likey!
You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite TH-cam makers. Thanks for actually making things and not tool reviews and tips and tricks
Quick tip: practice shop safety when working with a grinder. Edit the sketchy parts out :)
Great job on a repair/rebuild. I have done a lot of similar things and you design and fabricate much like I do. I believe you could have saved the original plastic bottom intact if you had a set of automotive nylon pry bar set for removing and installing car interiors. You can pick up a set from Harbor Freight and I find I use them in far more applications when taking things apart or even fabricating when I need a soft spacer without damaging what I am working on.
It looks like the pieces may have actually been glued together. Besides, the bottom half wasn't intact to begin with. Somebody broke it. 🤷
It was worth watching the entire video just to see him sliding/spinning around at the end, haha. Fantastic work!
It turns out I enjoy watching woodworking videos by Wesley Treat.
Thank you Wesley
Who doesn’t like a good paddle once in a while
Nicely done, Wesley, but i would suggest a stunt double.🤣
I feel like those pieces, if you just align them and rotate every second piece by 180 degrees could make a beautiful looking cutting board
i upgraded to those roller blade style wheels and they're great and roll smoothly, but now they're so smooth my stool takes off toward the garage door when i leave i unattended
Okay, when you run across a channel and you go "I wish my dad was still around so we could watch this together!" you know you hit a good one. We used to do some woodworking together and he taught all his kids to make stuff, not to just settle for what you can buy (and my sister taught her kids the same), and he would've loved your stuff. NICE shop tools, and your videos are entertaining as all hell too. I would totally have played Freeroll On The Stool across my space afterwards as well (and probably fallen over too.) Thanks from AZ (yes, the entire state, you're welcome) and happy makiing!
This might be my favorite videos of yours humor-wise. We would definitely be friends irl.
Those roller blade wheels are great. You can move about effortlessly. We have them on stools and dollys for moving motorbikes around on.
20:39 unexpected. 😂
I literally searched for someone that heard it as well
4:04 literally me everytime I try to open up something. Usually ends with some plastic bits flying everywhere because it won't open otherwise...
I'm pretty sure a twelve sided pattern is a dodecahedron. Keep up the amazing work brother! I love your channel!!!
Dodecahedron would be 12 faces. 12 sides is a dodecagon.
@@gornhal you're absolutely right. My mistake
Easy mistake
Really? No joke about - "this one time at band clamp..."?! :-) Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Fascinating vid as always!
I thought he was going to say he just "sanded the shit out of" his project
Hey Wesley! Just wanted to say I don't know how I found your channel, but I'm so glad I did! It's funny and very informative stuff here! I've been binge watching your videos for the past 4 days!
That bit at the end where you spin around on the stool with all that glee on your face is the most precious part of the video. 😁
Wow! That was great. Wonderful to see a ShopSmith. Thank you, Wesley.
Anyone else extremly satisfied by the sound of the wood going to the vaccum 2:13
Nice Job, well done.
When I saw the problem you had to fix, I remembered the Ramen noodles and superglue videos coming out of Asia a few years ago, where they fixed everything broken and the smashed bathroom sink so well and covered it in paint.
You know it's as good as when a young student who moves out at the end of his lease, to repair all the little screw holes in the walls and ceilings by filling them with toothpaste
My apple box is my go-to seat in my shop, but I've been wanting to make myself a stool for a while. Still keeping my eyes open for a "donor" for the base. As always, loved your video and your slightly warped sense of humor!!!
You were a treat - thanks for the fun.
Hi just wanted to say i enjoyed the video. The chair is beautiful. Thank you for sharing the experience with us!
Thank you, I enjoyed your video
Watched for 2 minutes and instantly subbed. Love the way you explain and show things. Your energy is great!
I really like this man’s demeanor and easy going way. I like his jokes. I have subscribed to see some of his work.
Wow! I was skeptical about your wood choice. But once that finish went on; Yowza!
The TotalBoat Gleam really brings out the mahogany's character, better than other finishes I've used.
As soon as you took the wheels off and made mention of replacing them, I couldn't help but think of this as "Stool of Theseus"
i love regular guys. recently all the videos i’ve been watching are just random, funny older men, making really cool things.
I was on the edge of my seat for this entire video.
These are the kind of projects I love. They make a ball type disk that could round that out
Awesome Job 👌 you’ve got yourself a beautiful Chair 👍 Thank you for sharing I really enjoyed this 🙏🏼😊
Beautiful work! I also have those skateboard wheels on my desk chair. It zooms all around. Careful that the stool doesn't zoom out from under you. :)
12 sided regular shape is called a DODECAGON or DUODECAGON
My first video of yours, love the woodwork, and your sense of humor.
Thanks for your nice work and excellent presentation, a lot of learning for me .👍👍👍👍👍👍
I just had to replay that noise from 2:14 - 2:16. So cartoony. Love it!
24:35 The new wheels!
I was hoping that you'd go with the roller blade office chair wheels. They're fantastic!
14:25 - That would make a nice cutting board.... 😁👍
True
Ok, I love that stool! That is one of the prettiest shop stools I have ever seen!
That line about your plan was the best I've ever heard on TH-cam
Came for the knowledge, subscribed for the humor!
I'll put hours into sanding a ponytail pick/chopsticks/letter opener/dagger/beads/cutting boards/everything. I'll start at around 80gr-120/320gr depending on the wood and starting condition, and I'll take it step by step up to 2000/3000gr. Then either clear over numerous times for depth, or use cutting board oil if it's for things that encounter foods. I do most or all of that by hand. It makes a difference! Try going into the thousands on your sandpaper, and I highly suggest Emery Cloth for alot of that work. Btw, first time watching your channel, and I love it. Great project and great humor!
For a guy not into woodworking you have some nice tools.
0:07 lol. Nice stool sample joke.
I just "found" WT today, and I'm so glad I did!!!💙💙💙
I subscribed solely because of the stool sample joke. I've never seen this guy before, but I hope the rest of his stuff is as subtly funny
3:48 I have never felt the emotions in a video so clearly as I do hearing those taps
oh the finish at the very end. so sensual. 😄A lovely end to a nice project.
Hi Wesley. I've just found your TH-cam channel or it found me. Either way, I didn’t know I needed to find it until I'd watched this video all the way through. Now it's very likely that I'll never need to rebuild a swivel seat even if I had the tools to do it. But it's better to be on the safe side, so I'm subscribing just in case. If I could make one suggestion, put brakes on those castors. At the speed they were going, if you left the door open, we could lose you. Thanks for a most enjoyable and informative video.
Great film. Super entertaining. Lovely stool. Mahalo for sharing! : )
You could cut the dished top on the seat with your table saw. Make a jig to limit the amount of movement of the seat first. Then mount the jig to the saw table. Lower the saw blade and put the seat upside down over the saw blade slot inside the perimeter of the jig. Gradually raise the saw blade and move the seat around inside the jig. As you raise the blade of the saw, you'll be cutting a deeper and deeper resess in the top surface until you have the amount of comfort you want. Sand the surface for a smooth contour.
LOL I'm so glad I came across your channel. You always make me laugh. This new version is such a vast improvement over the plastic one. Well done!
Terrific video! You definitely worked your butt off to complete this one. For some reason, reminds me of my recent colonoscopy that was perfect. No angle grinder required.
This stool is a wonderful and amazing masterpiece of woodworking artwork! WOW! That's it! Period, end of story!
Such a fun and creative rebuild. The last scenes are just pure joy!
A nice way to dish out wooden seats is with a turboplane ($125), a kutzall rotary rasp. ($50), or a harbor freight rotary rasp ($15). Turboplane leaves the nicest finish and requires the least sanding. My issue on things like this is the gas shock aspect of the thing fails long before the seat wears out or breaks.
A+ on the thumbnail and caption, this guy is the real deal XD
Thank you Wesley! Just got my wwgoa membership.
Excellent video 😻😻😻 Beautiful result, so satiny looking. love the pattern ❤ almost dropped my tablet when you fell, good catch not letting it hit the floor. The thumbnail was interesting 😳 like Waaaaaa ??? 🤣 but I’m glad I checked you out. 🤣
Your wood carving is going "next level" Joe!, nice!
When threading wood after the threads are cut , wet them with super glue to give them some added strength. Once the super glue is dry, you can run the tap thru again, or when installing the fasteners, don't try to thread them all the way in in one shot. Run them in a little and back them out until they are all the way in.
