I never thought this little instrument could express so much. Outstanding performance
Excellent!... posted this on FB 8 or 10 years ago and it popped on "Memories" today.
I would double like it... if it were possible.
Wow. Good job Jake! Never heard a ukulele sound that beautiful before.
ありがとうございます!!
Possibly Queen's greatest song. Superb.
I saw him live playing this, it was absolutely amazing! I even got to meet him afterwards!
How could anyone give a thumbs down to a performance this? Beautiful.
I almost cried like a little girl ... if Freddie was still with us i'm sure he'd have loved to sing along to that guy's sick ukulele !
As a humble member of the Derby Ukeleli club, I am enthralled, Wow who could have imagined such beautiful music from such a small instrument,. :-)
Inspirational and just wow. Every time I listen to him play it really makes me want to practice more!
we all love listening to him play, but you can tell he loves playing it more
Jake has taken the ukulele to places it has never been before. True genius!
I saw Jake yesterday at a taping for NPR's From the Top in Monterey California- He is simply amazing and truly inspirational!!
I was at that concert! I used to watch Jake when I was stationed with the Navy on Oahu.
He was only in his 20s and starting to get really big. He would play at the local outdoor strip mall in Hawaii Kai, and at Brunch on the Beach in Waikiki. My daughter, who was 5-6 years old, had a little "crush" on him, and drew the cutest picture of him with the glasses that he used to wear. (To this day, I wish I could find that picture! 😅)
i saw this guy live at the Stoughton Opera House in Stoughton, Wisconsin. And it was by far the best concert, he is such a show man, and can evoke all these emotions onto the audience. 10/10
Holy CRAP! One of the most epic songs EVER, played by the most EPIC uke player in the modern age.
I seriously almost stood and applauded my flipping computer monitor.
DAMN.
That was just plain phenomenal. Wow.
Um....that was...THE GREATEST THING I EVER SAW IN MY LIFE! Bohemian Rhapsody is my favorite song of all time, and I'm very hard to please when it comes to Queen covers. Bohemian Rhapsody is an extremely hard song no matter which position you choose to cover. To do all of it with one instrument is simply outstanding.
I never realized this song was this good until now.
This cat has been amazing my ears for over 10 years now. First heard him play when I lived in Hawaii, and I was stopped dead in my tracks. Best thing is you can see how much he loves doing his thing! My son has started playing again, I hope he keeps it up, I love the Uke!
And Also Jake Shimabukuro is the MOST amazing Uke Player to come out of Hawaii in a long time. and all the other GODS are already dead.
I listen to Rap Rock Country and Reggae, and yet there is something about the sound of the UKE that gets me still to this day!!!!
I feel like I'm floating in air. He takes me to another world
more beautiful notes have never been played on nylon.
i am astounded by this man. in my 11 years of playing music i've never before seen something this amazing played on such a underestimated instrument.
I saw him in Rancho Cucamonga. One of the finest performances I have ever witnessed.
What can I say? I've been a Queen fan boy for 30+years, and also Jake fan. I know he completed the arrangement while touring in Japan, but this way exceeded my expectation! I need to dump my incomplete arrangement, indeed ;)
I was at a concert of his today. Got an autographed CD and everything! It was amazing, he played this!
He gives the song the justice it deserves. Fantastic job!
This beauty makes my heart ache... and his cheerful, friendly and down to earth spirit lifts it back up.
It seems there is nothing Jake can't play! Such a virtuoso, no matter what the genre.
Where this guy really nails it is on the arrangement. Absolute genius!. It helps that he is technically capable enough to play whatever occurs to him and he does it with a level of feel that leaves me panting. Dood !
How the hell can anyone dislike this? It's glorious!
There are no words to describe how beautifully performed and how amazingly talented you are!
This is one of the greatest musicians of the world and I affirm his talent and hard work and Spirit to get to where he is. Thank you Jake!
very nicely done.. but have you noticed how deeply ingrained 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is in our minds and hearts? it is enough to perform the song with only one instrument and we can hear a whole orchestra helping him :) and he does too...
i luv watching his facial expressions as much as listening to his music that guy loves what hes doing!
That is incredible. Who knew that a ukulele could sound like that... What a virtuoso!
this is actually an incredibly intricate, well-crafted cover. Major respects to Jake for making what could be one of the best covers of this song, perio
1.3 million views. Thats alot of people who appreciate good music on youtube. Thanks jake! Hope to see you again soon my friend...
Dear god this is absolutely unbelievable. Two thumbs up, seriously.
And to think that I once thought of the uke as a novelty. This is art!!!
As well as an incredible musician, that's an incredible instrument he's playing. Wonderfully full sound, and the intonation sounds right on, which is not easy on a short scale like that.
I still go back to that video periodically, it moves me :)
I love how he's really feeling the music. You know a musician is good when he/she plays with his/her whole body. I wish I could play ukulele like that.
saw him live in a small setting. was as great as it seems.
i could listen to this all day
this gets my vote for best BR cover of all time, definitely
this man is a hero.... give him a medal
I didn't know the ukulele was such a powerful instrument! Incredible!
dude, ur waistjacket combined with the awesome faces you pull during this video has forced me to post it on facebook. may this video go verry viral.
No words... just listening...
everytime i watch this i cry because it is so beautiul. this is perfection
Quite possibly the best rendition on You Tube.
This guy is simply amazing. I watched this for one of my classes on world music, and he is just fabulous to listen to!
fantastic peformance. now going on a Jake Shimabukuro video marathon. THANKS!!
Pure awesomeness :)
Freddie would be so impressed!❤❤❤
My mind has been properly blown. I am speechless!
Every time I listen to this guy, I am amazed. Growing up in the 70s, your only exposure to ukelele was Tiny Tim and the occasional Don Ho cameo. Whoda thunk that it could be this cool?
pretty sweet ! my kid loves his Ukelele , he loves this guy
Unbelieveable... pretty much tear-jerking.
Oh My God! What is there to say? Mind boggling technique and a beautiful spirit add up to a guy who covers a tune and creates something bigger and better than the original. WOW Jake, @#$%ing WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Jake is a very special talent.
excellent interpretation of jake, queen in the memory forever
Style, beauty, precision, this version is amazing to watch and to listen to. He is Tommy Emmanuel on a Uke!
This is amazing, you can see how he enjoys playing this wonderful instrument
I love Jake. Hope I can meet him some day.
he has so much fun while playing. great to see!
Awesome!! What a special treat! I used to play uke as a child and can totally appreciate what a genius Jake is with his musical instrument!!
It doesn't get much better than this!!

This has reduced me to tears! Not common for me so I guess I've just been completely moved!
and I didnt even blink....wow amazing!!
That was a treat.
This is purely amazing.
Also, my hands are cramping just from watching him play! haha
I first discovered this thanks (BIG THANKS!) to my subscription to the NPR Song of the Day email - totally blows me away! Such talent - I'm so in awe ;-)
This just made me cry....
incredible. I am so impressed with what he is able to do with the UKE!
I have tickets to see him in March - hope he does this!
I'm still looking for my jaws on the floor after this !
Incredible. Left me breathless listening to it... seriously... and awesome watching him... Mahalo Jake! Hana hou!
One of the best covers of this rocking tune. Dude, you're totally awesome.
A great virtuoso! By chance I discovered this tool and the skill of the artist touched me! Sincere congratulations! An admirer of Romania! Thanks again!

WOW... what a great person you are Jake... just brilliant !!!
I noticed that too... just beyond awesome. "Hmm, can't reach that--how to fix...?"
So Awesome! Never thought of a" Uke" playing this type of music, but I like it :)
Fantastic, wouldn't have believed it was possible!!
sent shivers down my spine...
Astounding.
Liverpool UK

This is beautiful. I'm now a fan. I wish people would stop commenting on race and nationality and just enjoy the music.
