Why are all japanese people always better than me ... at everything!? This is one of the best things I've seen on youtube, hands down ... You are AWESOME Jake ...
jake is truly awesome. he is a great player and an awesome person. he performed at swim meets i participated in numerous time free of any charge. you can tell he truly loves to play
I can't help but to think that songs with words are so much more beautiful and says so much more than songs with words. This is a great representation of that.
Very few days go by that I don't think of Freddy Mercury, but it's performances like this that make it even more difficult to accept that he is gone. Imagine how happy he would have been to hear and see such wonderful homages on youtube. Thanks for your fantastic work.
That was an amazing performance . Who knew you could get that much range from whats generally referred to as a toy more than an actual instrument. Very impressive.
Ok I know the whole "make a comment about the people who hit the dislike button" thing has grown tiresome; but seriously whoever did that on this video has absolutely no clue about music. I think it's safe to say the guys in Queen would be very proud and impressed with this beautiful, flawless performance.
Wow man! Pretty excellent arrangement and flawless execution. You Da Man indeed. I bet Freddy and Brian smile upon both you and Edgar Cruz for so perfectly interpretting their music.
Nothing short of Divine, Jake-san! You created a masterpiece out of a masterpiece! Wish I could play with you on a uke-guitar duet, who knows, maybe one day.. :) Rock On!
It's so nice to hear this piece in a beautiful heartfelt context instead of as a silly novelty piece! Jake, if you're in Chicago ever and need acoustic bass, please hit me up! :) Regards, SSS
If ever the fait of the human race was in the balance due to our ability to be unique and have the talent to be "wonder" full. This would serve as great testimony that we are, and we can be. Thank you Jake and thank you Freddie Mercury.
Watch a previously aired segment on Jake Shimabukuro on CBS Sunday Morning, September 22nd. Jake has performed numerous times in Washington and will be performing at the Paramount Theater in Seattle on April 26th, 2014. Highly recommend checking out Jake's story on PBS, very inspiring.
your comment is kinda funny bc I’m from brazil, and here BR = Brazil, so I saw your comment and it was like “why the best performance of brazil??? He’s Japanese!!”
So awesome, thanks Jake!! I play guitar but never thought a Ukelele could be played like that...I mean..the fretboard is so small!! LOL! :) How do U do it!???
This audience is so polite! They should be screaming and yelling in appreciation.

Wonderful instrument wonderfully played. Whose definition of the capabilities of the instrument and the player was not expanded by this performance?
I believe, without a doubt, Brian May would be impressed :D
Let's share this piece on facebook
@zilver90 He's technically american. Born in Hawaii.
I want a Ukulele NOW! n_n

@Yomhas35
Jake says, "I am really a big fan of Queen. Queen is terrific/awesome. Freddy Mercury is a genius . . . . genius."
i can't believe only 4k people have watched this...
@EatMySammich polite crowd. just listen and enjoy. no screaming until the end at least. then scream to your hearts desire
Man, this makes me want to ditch everything I've spent years learning on the piano and violin and get a ukelele and JUST PLAY!!!
It Looks So Easy But it must be so difficult to play like him o.o
This is ridiculously talented and incredible. Any chance there's a tab for this somewhere?

I sang along.
