My wife and I were fortunate to be at this AMAZING show. We've since heard Jake at two other venues, an elite artist in every sense of the word. FYI for anyone in TN, he's going to be at the Franklin Theater on 10-19-17.
he was picking two different melodies at the same time, using four fingers, two keeping a steady tempo and the other variating among the top three stings. Def the ukulele GOAT
@@Gainsforlife you know what that's fair lmao. I've been practicing this song for like 2 months now. The only problem being, I can't do the electric solo. I only have acoustic. It's a really fun song, and definitely makes me feel just a littttlle badass
There's a beauty that touches the soul so deeply, provokes such appreciation, & stirs such passion, that one cannot keep it from erupting to the surface. I too, wept at such talented expression of the soul.
Jake's instrument has internal mics and pickups designed to capture the acoustic tone of the instrument like you see with bluegrass mandolins or guitars. So not an electric instrument per se. He talks about getting that sound in the interview by the way.
2024, headed to see him in Atlanta. I haven’t seen him since ‘06 in Hollywood. Super excited to not only see him, but watch my daughters face when she sees him jam for the first time in person! CheeeeHOOOOOOOOO!
It would be great if the bass player was identified (he added greatly to this wonderful performance, in my opinion). And the description could say something about the fact that this poignant song is about. Jake has explicitly stated that "Dragon" is inspired by Bruce Lee, describing him as a childhood hero and a significant source of inspiration in his life and music!
Very nice, amazing what you can do with a uke. However, I’m not much a uke fan. Don’t really care for the sound, but you make it sound great. To me, the Flamenco guitar is where it’s at. The sound out of a Flamenco negra is like pure art and nature put together in harmony. The uke is not rich unlike a Flamenco, but still you make it rock!
Thank you Jake to have taught the world that the uke is not a "small plastic guitar"!
Clemente Pascale lol
Grammar great is what you have
It’s a small wooden guitar it sounds dope But also I mean there are regular guitars made of plastic
@@danielakimoto1445 unlike you
Jake is the Michael Jordan of ukuleles

My husband, son-in-law, and I attended the Franklin Theatre performance. It was wonderful.
OMG Ukulele skills level 999999 right there! I am just in awe.
This guy is amazing, came across him by chance and was so blown away, I went& bought my first ukelele& am trying to teach myself to play!
Jake is the best ukulele player in the world. Outstanding .. overwhelming...
I AM SPEECHLESS! This is state of the art performance! What a pleasure to watch and listen
Aha, you fingerboard! Same
He is amazing! If you haven't watched "Four Strings", than please do so. He's coming to Missoula in March and I can't wait to see him live.
Word to string players: it doesn't matter how many string you've got. Just play all of them.
Well there are only 12 notes and all it takes is one string and 12 frets
AWESOME arrangement!!! Wow!!!

It's called the "flemenco pick" . Its a really cool technique, and is also pretty fun to practice as well.
TheFookenSwank flamenco? Where I’m from we just call it being a badass lol

Fabulous, Jake, thank you!
I don't know why but I cried listening to this.
Beautiful mind ^^
Good music touches the soul. I'm right there with you.
Yeah it's totally beautiful
I was sent to a different dimension when I was listening to this.

This is insane!
Came back after a year and still love this
Me and my lady are going to his Las Vegas concert at the Smith Center on 12/4/24, and we can't wait.
mon coeur explose a l'écoute , magnifique , intense , spontané et ressourcant , tellement de beauté dans ce morceau

Absolutely brilliant Jake !!!!
My NEW favorite song! It's a masterpiece, Jake!!! 💕

Ukulele is indeed a guitar!
I love this!!!!
+Birkan Erdem toy guitar? What in the world are you talking about?
The ukulele and the guitar are different instruments. They shouldn't be compared my friend.
4:40 , man that part makes my blood rush through whole body

I can now play Frere Jacques and London’s burning - badly. Not sure if I will ever get to this standard…. But I’m practising daily
Damn Good!
Kamaka ukuleles are the best 🤍
Shreddin' on an ukulele. Cool!
Woooaah !! 👏👏
At a time that we are thinking of Sally, here is Jake.
Could anyone tell the model of the uke and what kind of strap is holding the instrument? Thanks in advance.
It's a Kamaka Custom tenor. Not sure about the strap
ciao!
+Clemente Pascale Thank you! Casey Kamala is rumored to no longer accept custom tenor orders; and the strap is lovely too...
Somebody knows about that particular pedal effects? 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wait....what?!🔥
WOW!!
I can play this song and some of his other music
Go and spread your talent

How does he make an electric guitar out of a ukulele? I can not believe, what I see and hear :-)
3:40 Here where the big stuff comes in!
As said at the end of the video, AWESOME! Is that an electric Ukulele?

asurprised expression 2:44 sounds like part of Reimu’s theme from touhou 8
Bassist: what am I doing here?
Tiamoa Tzudir bass really adds deep and rich tones to any song. And who cares! They're all having fun.
As creative as Charles Berthoud is on bass. Nice.
Wait, he stops and scratches his head but the music still keeps going..so is it pre-recorded?
