We are sad to hear of the death of composer Ennio Morricone. We have all been touched by his music, not just that for films, like The Mission and Cinema Paradiso for which he is most celebrated but also by his concert music, like his Voca Dal Silenzio, a cantata written in response to September 11th. Morricone was able to please not just cinema audiences, but “absolute music” enthusiasts too.
His writing for whistling and in particular for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly will always have a special place in our hearts.
Addio Signor Morricone. Grazie per la musica.
Maybe worth paying tribute I think!
How about honoring his pass by "The wild Horde - My Name is Nobody"?
He was one of my favourite composers, writing incredibly beautiful music over decades; I'm really sad about his passing. I hope he would have winkingly enjoyed your rendition of his early master piece.
When I learnt the death of Master Morricone today, I thought about your interpretation of this movie music... I saw him in concert 2 years ago: it was magic! you are propelled into the film through music. Master Morricone said that a film is 50% of visual, and the other 50% is the music. Thank you Master.
tribute medley would be best
That guy has some sick whistling skills damn !!!!

Listen to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra who originally performed this music for the movie. Many get goosebumps listening to their The Good, The Bad and The Ugly theme music. This orchestra sounds like crap in comparison.
That man is a grandmaster of whistling.
Exactly.. i was stunned 😳
when I saw them live many years ago, he whistled a classical piece of music, prefaced by the story that, when he auditioned for the ukulele orchestra, he didn't play the uke at all and instead whistled them that same classical tune. He was offered the job on the spot, I believe.
except when he's laughing..
Jonty is a whistling legend.
fact
The whistle broke and how flawlessly the group covered the flaw. Wonderful !! The whistle was too sweet and melodious.
I wonder if it wasn't that he knew what was coming up and he couldn't contain his smile. This was a great cover of a great song.
The whistler is spot on. AWESOME.
This group while infinitely talented with their music are also so effortlessly charming and funny.
Ikr as group they click just right!

13 years later, still a pleasure to hear this beautiful piece of work :)
This is brilliant. Close your eyes and you'll be there at nighttime round the camp fire with all the sounds. Best version ever.
I'd be giggling like crazy.
I have to believe you never listened to very many other versions then.
The whistling is really hard to do as you need to be pitch perfect to start with. But the added pressure is if you even begin to smile - the whistle goes out the window. You simply can NOT whistle and smile or laugh at the same time. And how could you not smile through this. So endearing. I love it
True.
If I practice whistling enough, my chops come back. However, on an SM 58 under the gun on stage or similar? REALLY difficult. I appreciate his whistling chops. AND, how many women do you know who whistle, compared to men? I reckon not many. I am a proud woman whistler. :)
@@WeFrost62 Is it more difficult for women to whistle?

That whistling was smooth as butter.
Very nice :-)
butter isnt smooth its soft
+andrew smith You obviously have never rubbed your whole body with butter and slid around on the kitchen tiles.
I don't think that butter is quite that smooth.
@@varietyyachtsvessels6769 this debate shall flounder no longer, for the hundred days hath passed! So: why must we polarise this buttery debate? Can things not be soft áńď smooth simultaneously? Can we not at least establish whether say, most smooth things are soft, or perhaps at least, most soft things are smooth?
11 years later still a masterpiece

at 2:30 i just cant understand how can you whistle that smooth..
practice, I can do that too.... because when you love this song..you want to do that part soooooo muccccch. Keep tryin' you'll get it!
With practice you can whistle continuously for some time.
You can whistle while breathing in too. You pick a point where there's a hard note change and change direction of the air flow.
You can then whistle continuously until you get cramp in your jaw or your lips/mouth dry up.
Anchoring the tip of your tongue against your teeth helps with the control. At least that's how I do it.
guys i know how to whistle but i just cant whistle that smooth :)
the reverb on the mic helps but damn that's still pretty impressive whistling.
I somehow never tire of listening and seeing this video again and again compulsively over the decade. It's such a stupendous and brilliant performance.

You all are so amazing I could listen to this all day every day!! You are all so talented!!!
An incredible piece of music by the late Ennio Morricone, and how wonderfully played. Bravo.
WOW. I don't understand how anyone can give this thumbs down. Amazing.
The intro was a bit "folksy"; the music w/the ukes, however, is amazingly good.
because theres nothing less "western" than a bunch of pale nerdy brits doing a bad cover with ukuleles. understand my bad comment wasnt the choices of ukeles necessarily but the vocals were awful. couple of them are flat and sound like shit.
i don't think they were trying to be westerners, just playing the score from a western film, when you refer to nerdy brits, just remember the nerdy brits once had the greatest empire, about 200yrs that will never be surpassed, the usa took over as no 1 after world war 2 about 70yrs and in that short time you've become a busted flush, and if that clinton bitch gets to run the usa in 12 months from now the uk could be sending you food parcels
At least we don't bow to our "leaders" -- we enjoy having them "roasted" by comedians on a regular basis. Also, FYI, though Clinton has her faults, she's competent -- actually knows how government works and doesn't work. Trump, however, is an obnoxious self aggrandizing misogynist that, arguably, bribes public officials (FL to not investigate Trump U). Allegedly: He leaves people that do work for him unpaid -- putting some of them out of business (families that had been in business for generations). He filed for bankruptcy multiple times. He discriminates against minorities in work related matters and w/regard to rental properties. Trump allegedly raped a 13 year old -- not unlikely since he, himself, has talked about committing sexual assault --- and/or at the very least lies/brags that he does.Trump will not release his tax returns -- likely because public outcry over his tax related crimes would likely force authorities (including those he'd probably rather bribe ) to put him in jail.So ... go bow to your queen and we'll keep our elections for our head of state -- no matter how ugly they get.
There is a difference between opinion and fact -- opinions can be different w/o being wrong. It's sad you appear not to know the difference.
