Ed Hye some pieces have finger indications here and there, but it’s completely up to the violinist to adjust because some of the indications are absurd
Don't let talent alone fool you. She has amazing technique and she's taken the time to problem solve and find ways to minimize the areas that could slow her down. She's practiced a lot to get where she is. You can do it boys.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It is not all work tho, some of it is play. But most of all you can reduce it to invested time and concentration. I get sick listening to all this "talent" prostution. People praise elusive and conveniently non measurable "talent" because it is easier to get appraisal and money for something that nobody is competent to determine. So appraisal and money are for grabs to those who impose "talent" talk most aggressively. A LOT of people can play violin at the highest level. It just takes A LOT of time and determination.
@@cetterusSome people are just able to learn things quicker, which is what talent boils down to. You can measure their learning speed / normal speed for a more qauntifiable percentage of talent but it misses the point. Talent can only be really used with the practice to back it. She works her ass off and is able to think in different frames to overcome the struggles the boys faced. Those together are what people usually call a prodigy. She deserves to be recognized for her work And her talents.
@@cetterusIsn't it a talent in itself to have the patience and determination to put down as much work and keep the focus? I think that's a big differentiator between child prodigies and the rest of us. They have the capability to do it, also at a very young age.
@@yoshiwawa 1. No, it isn't talent. It is character and way of raising the child. Talent is something else. 2. The rest of what you said- I completely agree. Plus, I would ad, if it takes patience and "determination" maybe it isn't the right thing for a child to spend the time. Kids need to play. And only if their toy of choice is an instrument- the results might be fantastic.
You really do have to become one with your violin. Naming it helps too, gives it a soul... I prob sound crazy, and someone tell me if that sounds absurd, but I think it helps 😅😅😅
Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the bruise(?) or dark mark under her jaw? It shows HOW MUCH she practices to the point it has darkened that much. She's AMAZING.
I love how absolutely entranced the guys are when someone is more skilled than them. No laughing it away, making excuses. Just "how can i be better?!" I love it. Pure love for the craft.
@@sauce8277 They could have been assholes about it. Laughing it away or sometihing, just for the views or likes on youtube. But no :) They watched and listened. A superior violinist teaches, and they listen. You don't always get that :) I'm proud of them for that.
Knowing that she's half their age and probably twice as good at the violin doesn't stop her from being super sweet, humble and kind. She laughed at every single one of their joke and always gives suggestions starting with "Maybe you can...". I'm an adult beginner learner myself and I'm genuinely impressed by how much humility these three young people have.
One comment Chloe made told me a lot about her. She pointed out in the midst of all the technical challenges that the melody needed to come out. That shows she is after the music no matter what - a true musician.
There's a moment in one of her performances on TH-cam where she gets this beatific smile on her face while she is playing with the orchestra. It's not the smile of "I'm crushing this," it's the smile of pure delight and joy in the music itself as she reaches that point where it is flowing perfectly through her. I've seen this same sweet smile on one or two other beloved musicians as they reach a peak moment in their playing and it is a beautiful thing. It shows that she truly loves what she is doing and is not just the product of a forced program to turn her into a master player. Of course I don't know her life and I'm sure there is a great deal of pressure on her and a lot of sacrifices necessary to achieve her level of mastery, but I am reassured and entranced by the signs that she loves the music itself. Her comment about letting the melody come out seems to suggest this as well.
Impressively, Chloe is also a good teacher. She knows just how to tweak their playing (fingering, phrasing, tone) to get better results. She gives praise when appropriate and criticism when needed. She's remarkable!
@@dankmheems290 of cause but i admire her in the way of if someone be this good at young age, the concentration is one of the most important things for this master level but in this young age is rarely to find. How much money do we have to spend to build someone this big is not enough, if that person cannot be this prodigy. that why i admire her
Not even being musically inclined I can hear the difference. Not even to say that Brett and Eddy are bad players because they're great players but Chloe is just phenomenal.
It’s a sign of someone who’s spent time and effort developing their talent instead of the misconception that “prodigies” are just more talented than everyone else. She knows to suggest these things because she’s done them herself
I think I love this video even more because usually adults don't take kids seriously but no - every single advice she has, they take it seriously and mindfully. its the type of attitude and respect you would expect from an actual teacher. Love love looove this video so much.
I just realised how resonant chloe was, considering the sound we hear even though shes projecting away from the camera (and presumably the mic), as opposed to Brett and Eddy - i love them of course but Chloe is god-tier..
I think it’s not easy to be a teenager and teach not just one but two people much older than you. She seemed to be very mindful to not let them lose face.
I taught karate to grown men when I was a teen. I'm a girl n gave commands like a drill sergeant. Any mature beings won't mind as long as you know what you're doing. Another child prodigy I appreciate is Alma Deutsche, she gains respect from musicians because she's a very capable composer.
@@changabriela3412 I still feel like it's a bit.. weird? at first since people are accustomed to the correlation of age-experience mostly. But yeah, you get used to it (sometimes pretty quickly).
I think she knew within seconds what she was dealing with, and that these guys would benefit from whatever she had to say. I also think she was briefed by her people beforehand, and didn't just unsuspectingly open the door to two guys with a violin channel.
My thoughts exactly. And all this in front of an audience. It’s just speaks volumes about their incredible personalities. I can’t think of anyone who would be willing to do the same and still be that goodnatured about it.

I can hear emotions from her music omg, like, it's so lively and experienced. She's not shy, not hesitant and completely at ease with it. It's such a mind-blowing thing to see this
She's actually a really encouraging teacher, but it always amazes me when child prodigies give you a tip you never would have thought of. They need to find the most efficient way to play extremely technical passages because of small hands and limited reach and so on, so they will think of things you never would have tried in order to get around that limitation.
Do you really think it's them thinking of those techniques? I can almost guarantee you she has a very talented teacher who has taught her all of those efficient fingering patterns.
@@Legaliaaa Of course. That's how you get to be that good at such a young age. Having excellent teachers makes a huge difference. Then you only need to be obsessed with it.

After seeing this type of comments for realistically the fiftieth time, apparently there are so many things behind the scenes that non musicians just don’t understand. Like how everybody doesn’t sound good when just learning the piece. Or how after practiced for so many hours, Chloe sounds as good as she is in this video. This makes me appreciate Twoset more for showing how practice and hours of dedication bring musicians to their performance level, cause this is something that most audiences can’t see and appreciate.

Chloe is the kind of girl that you want to be friends with and she'd be really nice to you but deep down you know you're lowkey too pleb to even say hi.
I was in the audience for a Martin Frost masterclass and noticed how he always prefaced his comments with 'For my taste....' rather than saying 'It sounds better if you...' - it's really a wonderful example for others when great performers show such humility. In general (not just in music), it seems that people are so interested in making themselves look good that they stomp all over others, especially if they hold different opinions. We need more humble leadership and communication to regain the civility we have lost in modern society.
@@cooldebt evelynn glennie once said: "as a musician you have to play everything that's not on the sheet of paper in front of you". Masterclasses just highlights that. And it's also a discussion in the environment. Do we play something the way we want it or the way composer originally meant it to be. Does that make our own, a variation, does it change entirely, is it plagiarism, etc. And there isn't really a good guideline for that so what you're left with is weither or not you're a good pedagogue or not. It's more "professional" or civil than it is humble because most, to a lesser degree, does claim someone elses works. Getting paid to alter it to their own likes and such

The pressure from an Asian teacher, no matter their age, gender, appearance or even mood, just pure terrifying when they start demonstrate something and ask you to repeat.
This shows that music doesn't see age, brett and eddy are very humble and only want to improve their playing. Edit: Wow! Thanks for all the likes! I have been watching two set for a few months now and they are the reason I realized that I want to be a pianist. I am thankful for how much they work everyday to bring us such nice content and motivate us to work harder.
@why tho constant learning is always good. The more you learn the more questions you have. Even Heifetz could've improved a lot more if he was still alive and practicing.
I think Eddie and Brett should be admired for their humility and modesty. I'm no professional musician, but I'm sure not everyone would expose themselves like this or publicly take a lesson from a younger musician. They are never conceited and they set a truly great example.
basically some people can get easily embarrassed by someone who is much younger than them being better at them at something its like suppose a 11 year old kid showed up a havard graduate who had 7 phds
@Come As You Are I'm sure plenty of people take lessons from younger musicians, but I don't whether it is that common for professional musicians to publicly take lessons from kids while drawing attention to their own shortcomings. If it is, then I reiterate my compliments, and simply extend them to the entire world of classical music.
@Come As You Are Being aware of your limitations is different from exposing them to the world. Anyway, I just feel that there's never a trace of conceit in their attitude, and, common or not, I think that's commendable, that's all.

Chloe: "I think you should try the last four bars of this piece." *evil smiles*
A sentence to end one's career
Proof that Chloe is a legitimate sadist.

@@ranonampangom2185I agree, but once again she is a child and the amount of shifting and notes on top of each other is very impressive for her age.
True, gifted children/child prodigies usually have good memory.
The pressure from an Asian teacher, no matter their age, gender, appearance or even mood, just pure terrifying when they start demonstrate something and ask you to repeat.
The teachers are under pressure too, they have to be always brilliant

NO VENEZUELAN TEACHER IS THE WORST
Me teaching simple maths: so I do this and subtract that then multiply by the sum of the previous equation...now repeat!
The tutee: uhm *what* ?
@@thegoogletranslatechannel2998 nah bro, I say German teachers are the hardest lol or Japanese I’ve trained under both 😂
When Chloe plays, it sounds like a completely different piece.
I think that's the difference between reciting a poem and understanding its meaning.
Can you tell me the name of the piece in 1:45 pls

@@honganhngo7046 it's still the paganiniana :)
@@honganhngo7046 Everything they played is from one piece. Paganinia
Yess
@why tho even a professional needs to improve their skills. constant learning is good
@why tho lol
@why tho constant learning is always good. The more you learn the more questions you have. Even Heifetz could've improved a lot more if he was still alive and practicing.
@why tho roast!!!!!!
twoset pls don't leave us like this :(
"Chloe, are you Ling Ling?"
"Nah, I give lessons to Ling Ling."
OMFG
Ahaha this is so good!! 😂😂
It’s like idk ehmmmm
I wanted to say something funny but now I’m embarrassed
That gave me a good chuckle!

You can see the death in Brett's eyes when he sees her play.
And Eddy’s open mouth

Dead for the 1000000000000000000000000th time
Absolutely mindblowing. It's crazy that she's at a level where a layman can tell the difference between her and other pros. It feels like she could make anything sound good
