Going back through this knowing what happens in the show I realized just how much does not fit together at all. These are not mismatched puzzle pieces, these are puzzle pieces mixed with lego pieces, duplo pieces, plastic Spitfire model kit parts all presented like they perfectly fit together creating something that can be recognized by a human mind as a story.

Even the highlights are longer than the show. Truly, their ability to bend time into a pretzel and create content from nothing beggars the imagination and stretches the bounds of sanity.
I remember starting this series and thinking "oh I better read the Silmarillion so I have more context for this age" and now watching this after finishing it and seeing just how much they bastardize what's written in the Silmarillion is just sad to me. It's like they didn't even try to stick to the legendarium at all. The whole Mythril creation thing with the Balrog, tree, lightning and the BONUS Silmaril had my heart and head aching.
every facet of this show exemplifies laziness, arrogance, and lack of care. The dialogue is written by an AI that was only fed tommy wiseau, pantomime, and ironic stage performances. The choreography is designed by people that have never even played a videogame or read a book involving warfare or combat, literally just people with swords move toward each other. props and costumes are like a really rushed but wealthy middle school play. The Story, simply is not. Characters have none, or at least what little there is is outweighed by contradictions. Truly an incredible production.
I literally couldn't continue watching this show past that dialogue about boats and stones. It was so cringe inducing I actually became physically uncomfortable listening to anything else the characters said. It was worse than Middle School fan-fictions. It was anti-Tolkien. It was fake wisdom of the most cringe order.
The reasons they didn't show it is because Amazon only has rights to the appendixes. which are juts a lexicon of names with minor descriptions. They don't have th rights to o the silmarilion or the lost tales.
@@666lupine666 Well, *YOU* would not have paid for "the rights to LotR" as Amazon did. But you are not Amazon. It is possible that good quality material could have been created by Amazon - if, for example, they created a story arc that took place exclusively in Near Harad, or perhaps even Mordor itself, or even some land farther to the east, beyond what was on official maps... Or they could have taken the characters and, unironically, created a storyline which did not violate the existing Lore of the LotR setting... But, again, Amazon did not...

@@Ladenstarfish It's fair for them to enjoy the films, but they're very inconsistent in their coverage of the show and the Peter Jackson films. Some of them have read the books (Nerdrotic and Wolf), but they barely call out the PJ movies for deviating from the books. And when they judge the films and show on its own (ignoring the lore), then they often criticize RoP and the Hobbit trilogy for stupid bs, but ignore the LotR trilogy for doing similar stupid bs. Example: they rightfully mock Celebrimbor not knowing what an alloy is. But they don't question how 100+ Uruk-hai manage to sneak up to Aragorn (a ranger) on Amon Hen.
@reek4062 I think I understand your point. Here's how I see it: if you're doing evaluations of employees in your company and you have individuals who show up on time every time vs those who show up late consistently you'll be inclined to overlook certain errors for the on time people that wont overlook for the late people. I see EFAPS criticism of media similar, if they enjoy something a great deal they overlook certain flaws that they would hammer another piece of media into the ground for. The overall experience is the lens from which all of the criticism / praise follows. So when they watch LOTR and there's so much that works well in it they gloss over smaller details and when they watch ROP the fundamental broken nature of the show makes them dig into the smaller details with more vigor. This isn't a criticism or a defense of EFAP, just what I've noticed while editing these videos.
