i played on this amp yesterday and i was extremely impressed i only played on one setting for about 5 mins but it is probably one of the best amps i have ever played
To you guys who arent sure, theres videos out there demonstrating the Krankenstein (Dimebag) which sound very heavy. It does more than just classic sounding rock. Great character tones on this amp.
Well, I'm not sure what area you are in but in ours, the Toronto area of Canada, we have not experienced a more then average return rate for these amps. As well, Peavey is one of the best companies to either fix your problem immediately or replace your amp. So, we should be careful about making broad statements about an amp line. As well, these amps are high gain amps and thus tend to get pushed really hard, I expect them to fail a bit more often, even thought they don't seem to.
I just bought the 75 watt and have been trying to find a comfort zone and you explained this Amp much better than the sales dept.where I bought it , thank you and I also have the pedal box with mine and would love to hear your input on that .
Great demo. Displaying the amp model´s name along with the sound would have been of much help though. How is the Brit model? Is the 1st one you stated playing with? I think so. Thanks!
im just wondering, is the vypyr series compatible with the Boss ME-70 pedal? i have the 30 watt vypyr and im looking to get a new pedal. Or is it just worth it to get the sanpera II pedal? and if so where does the pedal board plug into on the amp? Thanks a lot!
and if i want the peavey vypyr as practise amp and not as amp for the stage or anything... Would it be a good choise? Or should i try a Vox VT? I would rather buy the vypyr because it has many effects and stomp boxes
It's true, we didn't mention that the version of ReValver is a demo version only. To be honest, I didn't realize it until I read your comment and checked with my Peavey Rep. However, to get a full working version of ReValver HP it cost's $69 US, hardly paying out the ass for what this software is capable of. In any case, our mistake and our apologizes.
I actually ditched the 75 for a T60 and have the sanpera 1 pedal. I don't really play live terribly often, so the smaller pedal suits me just fine, but it's still a beast for the money!
G'day....still havent seen 'one ' decent review of a Vypyr with a Strat ! Are these no good with single coils like some say ? Any chance of a blues vid/demo with some crunchy/ dreamy, reverby, chorus cleans also ??? I've been lookin for too long now, and just when i thought id made up my mind on the Vypyr 30, I'm having dealers say they dont want to sell me one !... they say 'Too' many have come back... and they wont be stocking them again because of that ! Please Help ...!!!!!
which amp is better for metal tones? the peavey 75 or the spider 4 75 watt, i've triend them both but couldnt make a difference, i thought that they both sounded great
I just got mine and I was just wondering how i could get it rly distorted? I play mostly Metalcore, Deathcore, Hardcore and Death Metal. :) (So i rly need lots of distortion!)
The local guitar stores here have stopped selling Peavey Vypyrs because they were getting so many of them returned with all the fun little defects you hear about on the Internet.
@ ImHomeAtLast Barenaked Ladies use it in their song called "Pinch Me". Its the solo near the end of the song, sounds pretty cool too. Look it up on youtube but make sure you get the right version. They don't do it in the live versions.
i have the 120 and the 75...love em both..120 gave me some trouble but it was hit so hard in shipping it came with a broken cabinet... the 75 works great..alas the sampora 1 pedal doesnt seem to work correct...
Hi, I recently bought this combo. Could someone briefly write me how to permanently save 12 of your preferred settings ? So that I don't have to set them up again every time when I turn on. Thank you in advance.
Hey man, we've obviously had vastly different experiences. To say that dealers in general are dropping a line is to broad and just not completely true, even if some have. That's all I meant. I didn't allow your following comment as it doesn't help people make a decision on the amp it was more of a commentary which isn't the point of these videos. if you're unhappy with Peavey, I'm sure there is a forum to voice those opinions, this isn't it.
its a modeling amp it has some of the best amps built into it plus it has the usability of effects etc. so i think u can use it for metallica and slayer btw i used the new line 6 spider 4 but it only has 4 chanells clean crunch metal insane i think you should get a peavy more worth the money
i feel like an idiot asking this. but i have owned this amp for 8 months now and i am ready to sell it. my nephew plays bass and he was wondering if he could play a bass through this. would that be okay, i mean would it blow the speaker?
One of my buddies wanted me to get an AC30, but after listening to it, I just don't like it so much (and it's not a modeling amp anyways). I've got a Vypyr 75 in the mail and I can't freaking wait! :D
hahaha finally someone who found a Van Halen sound, thats the first sound i tried to see if this amp can accomplish, the warmth and depth of that of Eddie Van Halen's sound, and it comes pretty close, closer than any other combo modeling amp. The Line 6's phaser is too insane, no warmth
A question for the vypyr 15 owners: ive got a Line 6 PODxt and i want the sound that it produces to run through my Vypyr, but without the Vypyr changing the signal. I already tried putting the reverb/delay/low/mid/high on the Vypyr at zero, but its still not the same. It does feel as if the different amps on the Vypyr (XXX, Brit etc) have something to do with it, but i dont know how i can use the Vypyr as a "No Amp"
im looking for an unbiased opinion in whether to get this or the line 6 spider IV (30 watt) and why, because ive heard that the line 6 has far greater tone and general sound quality, help a guy out here please :)
I think it's 75 watt def not 30 due to USB etc Nice G&L SC-2 (I think) @petrochemicals4u wanted review with single coils- I think the Amp sounded pretty cool with the G&L, tho the pickups are quite hot for single coils
i think this amp does have a compressor...the guy who posted da vid said no but ive seen this thing and it has an effect called "squeeze" which is like a compressor
@dorianpod77 sorry man i didnt get the boss pedal for the vypyr, but i did order the Sanpera II and recieved it. It works absolutely amazing. I did read about the boss me 70 though with the amp and it should work if you keep the amp on clean, otherwsie i say stick with the Sanpera dude!
Let me get this straight. You have a Vypyr 30 $279 CND and a Sanpera $199 CND. You have an amp that has more amp models, more effects and sounds better then most not to mention can store 400 patches using the sanpera and has a built in looper. In our store in Canada you would have paid just under $475 CND or $386 US. This without any software is so much cheaper then anything else on the market. Peavey asking for 69 for software seems reasonable. Not sure why you're so mad..
I'm not making a broad statement. I'm making a very specific statement. And the failure of the amps has had nothing to do with being pushed hard. It's been the electronics that have been failing, even when some have updated to the latest firmware. Maybe we should be careful about general categorization of comments.
i played on this amp yesterday and i was extremely impressed
i only played on one setting for about 5 mins but it is probably one of the best amps i have ever played
I've got the vypyr 75 with the sanpera 2 footswitch. Couldn't ask for anything more. Best amp I've ever owned.
thhis amp is the best modeling amp hands down
this is the best review I have seen of an amp
great playing and in all style of music well he play any jazz but that is ok This Bro can play
I think he was having fun! This amp sounds great and clean in all the modes, good thing.
I especially like the tone during the soloing over the looper
At first glance we felt the same way. Truth is, once you've been around it once it is really very easy to operate.
To you guys who arent sure, theres videos out there demonstrating the Krankenstein (Dimebag) which sound very heavy. It does more than just classic sounding rock. Great character tones on this amp.
Well, I'm not sure what area you are in but in ours, the Toronto area of Canada, we have not experienced a more then average return rate for these amps. put it on the 6505 setting of course. i play the same stuff as you and it sounds awesome, what one did you get?
Really great review!
I think so. Thanks!
Whoa. A review without any talking between the playing! Schweet.
You can do either. THe Sanpera II lets you turn stomp boxes on and off or switch from memory spot to memory spot.
I just bought this amp and it kicks ass!! It even has the Joe Satriani setting called JSX
im just wondering, is the vypyr series compatible with the Boss ME-70 pedal? i have the 30 watt vypyr and im looking to get a new pedal. Or is it just worth it to get the sanpera II pedal? and if so where does the pedal board plug into on the amp? Thanks a lot!
the amp looks great!
awesome guitar skills too. :D
and if i want the peavey vypyr as practise amp and not as amp for the stage or anything... Would it be a good choise? Or should i try a Vox VT? I would rather buy the vypyr because it has many effects and stomp boxes
awesome vid Lou.....

is there a huge tone difference between the 75 and the 30? or is it not big enough to matter
tht enter sandman riff sounded gd but y did u palm mute the single notes or was tht improve
I actually ditched the 75 for a T60 and have the sanpera 1 pedal. I don't really play live terribly often, so the smaller pedal suits me just fine, but it's still a beast for the money!
yes, the settings are the same for each type of vypyr within the series.
G'day....still havent seen 'one ' decent review of a Vypyr with a Strat ! Are these no good with single coils like some say ? Any chance of a blues vid/demo with some crunchy/ dreamy, reverby, chorus cleans also ??? @rupertveitch the 30 watt has usb accessibility but its midi to usb. The 75 watt is usb completely
@jedrich728 Did u find out about the boss pedal thing? i was wondering the same thing..i have a Boss ME 20 pedal...
which amp is better for metal tones? the peavey 75 or the spider 4 75 watt,
i've triend them both but couldnt make a difference, i thought that they both sounded great
I just got mine and I was just wondering how i could get it rly distorted? I play mostly Metalcore, Deathcore, Hardcore and Death Metal. :) (So i rly need lots of distortion!)
very suitable haha the 6505 on it is good very various types of metal and the XXX gives you that thrash metal sound.
What kind of guitar is that? It looks cool.
The local guitar stores here have stopped selling Peavey Vypyrs because they were getting so many of them returned with all the fun little defects you hear about on the Internet.

i just got the Vypyr 30 and im in love with it. sooo much better than the VOX AC30
does this amp need sanperra pedal to use the looper...and is the usb recording studio quailty ....i wanna know before i buy
i have the 120 and the 75...love em both..120 gave me some trouble but it was hit so hard in shipping it came with a broken cabinet... the 75 works great..alas the sampora 1 pedal doesnt seem to work correct...
Hi, I recently bought this combo. Could someone briefly write me how to permanently save 12 of your preferred settings ? So that I don't have to set them up again every time when I turn on. Thank you in advance.
Nice vid man!!!!!!!!! i was thinking about the name of the song in 6:51 and dont remember!!! could someone tell me???
Hey man, we've obviously had vastly different experiences. To say that dealers in general are dropping a line is to broad and just not completely true, even if some have. That's all I meant.

Well, we've been selling them since November and haven't had any problems with failures. So, do they break a lot? Not in our experience so far..
im really considering getting this amp but i want to know if u can play metal on it???
its a modeling amp it has some of the best amps built into it plus it has the usability of effects etc. so i think u can use it for metallica and slayer btw i used the new line 6 spider 4 but it only has 4 chanells clean crunch metal insane i think you should get a peavy more worth the money
yo do u need the sanperra pedal to use loop..? and is the USB recording studio quality .....? some1 help
dose it have a noise gate/ noise suppressor?
i feel like an idiot asking this. but i have owned this amp for 8 months now and i am ready to sell it. my nephew plays bass and he was wondering if he could play a bass through this. would that be okay, i mean would it blow the speaker?
@RockHailand...it kinda just depends i prefer a line 6 but i also have this peavy viper..the peavy has more effects...
whats better this amp or the VOX VT series????
The front panel setup and appearance look very similar to that of Line 6.
what if i have a crappy guitar? will this amp still sound good?
This amp is good for ANYTHING =)
We never kid about the "wild thing" :)
which version is this?
what setting was that at 6:43???
is this amp better than a Line6 Spider IV?
So in depth... >.>
Is this amp any good for disturbed sound?
Weird, I have the same amp, and the same shirt! But I love my Vypyr 30. Its a great small combo for home practice.
One of my buddies wanted me to get an AC30, but after listening to it, I just don't like it so much (and it's not a modeling amp anyways). I've got a Vypyr 75 in the mail and I can't freaking wait! :D

Have u tried putting or switching the control nob on ur viper to bypass ? And the lower the pre and post gain considerably on the viper ?
nice whole lotta love at 7:47 XD
I have one,it's awesome!I suggest you to get the pedal switch, the bigger one. :D
good job
im looking for an unbiased opinion in whether to get this or the line 6 spider IV (30 watt) and why, because ive heard that the line 6 has far greater tone and general sound quality, help a guy out here please :)
@drewcropp The general rule is that bad guitar + good amp = good sound, good guitar + bad amp = bad sound, good guitar + good amp = HOLY SHIT.
whats the song in 6:51???
You'd have to try it. The vibe is that this one is superior but that's just opinion. Get to a store to compare them.
I think it's 75 watt def not 30 due to USB etc
Nice G&L SC-2 (I think) @petrochemicals4u wanted review with single coils- I think the Amp sounded pretty cool with the G&L, tho the pickups are quite hot for single coils
Guys should i get peavey vypyr 30 or Marshal Mg30Fx?
i think this amp does have a compressor...the guy who posted da vid said no but ive seen this thing and it has an effect called "squeeze" which is like a compressor
can you show me how to set the tone plssss!!!!
the reverse effect, is used on the solo in like a stone - audioslave. well at least it sounds like it
i have the same amp except i dont have the stompbox switch
boot up your amp without your input cord connected, then let the lights dance, after that then connect your cord, and that should help.
How do you use the looper?
With the Sanpera pedal
spider 75 or this??
@khushalbhadra Definitely the Peavey Vypyr , line 6 has a horrid tone, you won´t regret buying the Peavey !!
no, you need a sanpera I or II in order to run the loop.
@antieverything13 thanks for you're opinion, i'll be sure to bear that in mind :)
Lol James Bond FTW
Awesome playing
peavey or fender?
were i live in canada its $329 and i cant wait tell i get the 30 watt peavey
its alot of fun
Let me get this straight. You have a Vypyr 30 $279 CND and a Sanpera $199 CND. 007! yeah
It sounds better than a line 6, heavier and crisper.
what happens if you have and amp and the volume only can go to 10 .well this amp is awsome becase you can go to 13!!!
@6936ki Well i have the Vypyr now since April and it's really awesome (:
The Sanpera II actually gives you 400 presets. w00t.
I'm not making a broad statement. I'm making a very specific statement. And the failure of the amps has had nothing to do with being pushed hard. OMG I WANT IT!!!!!
It is the 75 watt
@VisContigo You live on a Caribbean Island you don't get the cool Amp: sounds like you have had your share of good fortune already!
GOD OF THUNDER! 6:20
@VisContigo go the peavey i have the marshall good amp but i wish i got this
My Vypyr 30 watt hooked up to my Laney 412 cab rocks.... I can blow the drummer off the stage.

?
8:06 - 8:15 sounds cool, does anyone think they can tab it
@newpixeldude Sorry, I meant "STARTED playing with".
