  • June, 2022.
    Grand Isle, Louisiana.
    Kayak launch sites:
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries kayak launch in middle of island.
BridgeSide Marina just as you cross the bridge and enter Grand Isle on the western side.
WakeSide Marina across the road from BridgeSide.
Grand Isle Marina at the far eastern end of the island (formerly Sand Dollar Marina).
Elmer’s Island and Hwy. 1 launch spots into the marsh - both north and south of Hwy. 1.
Also wade fishing along the rocks on the Gulf side of the island. Beautiful spots along most of the island, especially at back of BridgeSide Campground and also at State Park Campground (once it reopens later in 2022 or early 2023).
Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy!!

Hope you enjoyed the trip. That water is getting pushed out everywhere. Hard to access the deep spots. Glad to hear you got some trout!
Cheers and more soon. Thanks for report.

Enjoy all the info you give in your videos. When, where and how is what people want to see. So many are afraid to show where and only show reeling in fish. Did you catch better on in coming tide or falling?

Thanks Jerry! Appreciate the comment. Glad to share and I always forget to discuss lures, etc.
This trip was a lot of matrix Shad with gold spinner. Never had that be the primary bait the trout wanted, but that was the case this trip for most of the days over the jig. Until the last day by the bridge in some deeper water. And even then, they were hitting the jig up high.
Anyhow, I’m still learning the back of Grand Isle, but I always seem to catch better there during a rising tide. Good water coming around the pass from the Gulf. Definitely the case for the trout.
Redfish I do ok all conditions including falling tide in the marsh with water coming out of small drains or cuts.
      Hope more soon.
      Thanks for watching!

Great video and looks like a great time as well. Does the campground there at Bridgeside RV have shower facilities? Hoping to make a trip within the year in my popup.

Hope you make the trip. Unfortunately no showers at BridgeSide Marina.
I use an outdoor shower and also a new product called “Summer Shower” in a bag - solar bag that heats up 3 gallons of water and has a shower head. Leave out during the day to catch sun, and have a warm shower at night. Even works in 30 degree temps. Inexpensive and works well and simple. Amazon.
      Cheers!

Yes, good reminder. I often show the lures, but sometimes forget. Always artificial. Almost always jigs - swimjigs on a 1/8 oz. jighead. Bouncing slowly off the bottom. If the fish show that they are feeding higher up in the water column I will try the gold spinner with the same jig, just retrieving slowly. Definitely my favorite two lures aside from Topwater when that bite is on.
      Thanks for watching!

How much is it for the camper spots

    • @ThePentUpAngler
      @ThePentUpAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

They normally rent by the month. Different rates for times of year. Approximately: April-October $500 per month. November-March $400. I do think they will do weekly if available and it probably averages out to about $40 per night. Water, electric and sewage at all sites. Great place!
