Quick limit of Redfish. Sight fishing out of my Hobie kayak just north of Grand Isle, Louisiana.

It was one of the better days for fishing this past June. The winds and tides were almost perfect as i set out just after noon. This would be a solo trip as both my fishing buddies were working. I launched just north of Grand isle around the small fishing village of Leeville, La.. This video has some pretty decent action. Sit back and enjoy. Very entertaining man.. killer video! Get you a cord or something and tie one end to paddle and other end to boat. You won’t lose it and can also use it as a Cajun anchor if you wanna stay put!

You have to poke your way through the marsh. They will spook pretty easily.

Sadly this area was solid land 2 years ago. Finding this type of terrain isn't very hard. I launch at the public launch and can reach this area.

What lure are you using? My fishing club is headed to Grande Isle 2nd week of Nov to kayak fish. Any tips or hints appreciated

Yeah I use a lazy man hook rigged with a white minnow gulp. If we get some decent cold fronts the specks will move from around grand Isle up into the marshes north of the isle. I fish predominantly in the Leeville area which is a good area for reds and specks. Hope that helps some. Follow bayou coast kayak club on FB for reports. I also suggest watching Rogarou on TH-cam. He fishes a lot in that area.

I think it's the one that came with the hobie. I just modified one end by cutting off the paddle and adding a handle.
