@@jfly2249 I can't comment on the wattage power as I don't know and would need to look at wired reviews for that, however, the BBB comment is interesting. I looked up the BBB rating because I was curious after your post. And you're right they do have an F rating, however, because context is king it is important to point out that they only have 4 reviews (3 negative, 1 positive), 2 from 2022, 1 from 2023, and one from 06/2024. 4 reviews with a 2.5/5 star review but I'm sure within the 5 years they've been selling they've sold thousands of bikes with many great reviews. BTW, I also looked up Wired, but there were no reviews. If they had any I'm more than sure they would also have negative mixed in with positive reviews.
Just an FYI - My 5'11" wife fits my 19" 5-Star just fine. Her seat stem is a lot lower than mine (6'4"), but she is near the bottom of the travel. (1-2" higher than the stem) To your point of catching yourself, she did end up breaking her wrist 2 weeks ago when she had a similar chain pop off as your original video. A little bit knowledge will go a long ways.

Flat Black. YEAH! That's the color I got on my 2022 E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown (2 motors, 2 batteries, dual suspension) My beast can haul 400 pounds including my weight. Great for hauling out boned-out deer, elk and antelope meat.
I don’t mind changing batteries so I ordered the 5star and a secondary battery. I wanted to have as much range as possible. I live in NorCal and have areas with plenty of hills. So for me, 2 big boy batteries seemed like the best option. Thank you for sharing with us.

Agreed I'm almost 6'5" and thinking this might be the one. Granted if I order it it won't arrive till Winter lol and I don't really ride in the Winter.
I decided on the Motor Goat. With the lift option they have for the seat to make pedaling more comfortable for tall people, and the 50ah frame filling battery it just seems like the best choice. The extra battery is about 1500 so I'll have to wait to get that for a little bit, but it'll be great to have a combined 60v 75ah worth of battery. And then plenty of time to save for another one for next summer, or maybe even go with a full e motorcycle!

I would think the pedals would be rather pointless other than to look a little less conspicuous to the police as a faster than normal ebike. I must be missing something cause on their website it says 2nd 60V 20Ah battery kit for the motor Goat V3 $649.99 not $1500. The accessories really ad up to. I would not to have a rack to carry groceries, but one has pay an additional $200-$250 for that. Either way Awesome!
Yeah I'm going with the pedal version to test the waters with the cops in my area before switching to pegs only. The 50ah battery I believe is something you have to contact about, or I believe northeast batteries has it as well!

I've got the 5-star and I've been pretty happy with it. Only complaint is that my front caliper was a bit misaligned (I put the washer on the outside like their instruction video said). I didn't notice, so it slightly warped the rotor. I've sinced aligned it and it stops no problem, just makes a slight noise as the trailing end clips the pads as it comes around. Well I know for next time at least. As a first bike, its not bad. And seeing the review on the dual star, seems to be more of the same.
I just returned a 650 dollar 750w Hitway Rear hub based ebike, (great, great fun, but no parts available after a broken wheel, so lacing one at a bike shop would cost about 500 bucks... NAH ain't doing that) and I can't begin to understand when people say that 2200 dollars was their first "trial" e-bike. My man said "I'll know for next time at least." Brother if 2200 dollars was your first trial at an e-bike, just get a fucking lightly used Sur-Ron for 3400 and remove yourself from the market entirely, forever. Jesus man, 2200 is a BADass REGULAR dual suspension MTB

Lots of places wont let you go on dirt bikes regardless of being electric or not, but no one looks the other way when a regular looking bike passes by.
It's unbelievable how long it takes to get one of their bikes. Still waiting and I ordered in May for a step star. They haven't even been produced yet.
@@DM-fp8uwnew bikes get ordered from the factory in China thats why they take awhile. Any warrenty requests can be solved by the room they periodically show videos of stocked with parts to fix / diagnose issues. Different situations entirely luckily. You will need to be either not picky and call to select someone elses canceled order or be patient and wait a few months for it to be made and shipped from china. But once you have a bike in hand wait is over and any repair, parts or support can be handled state side in a similar timezone.
I ordered a five star with torque sensor. I already waited about six weeks, and could’ve waited another month for the bike that I ordered, but Ecells called me because they had some customer cancellations in stock, and they had some with a torque sensor, not the color that I ordered, but I took it and it was shipped that day.

I have the E-Cells 5 Star and its been an absolute pleasure to ride. I thought hard about getting the Dual Star option but figured the weight and wait offset the range benefits. I'm fairly lightweight and tend to ride 30 to 40 miles max. Happy to report that I am able to achieve that with my single battery 5 star! Peddling of course and not throttling the whole time😅
Wired fixed any wobble issue with a new Hellbender headset. It is MUCH faster. 3200 watts peak, 2700+ watts continuous. E cells is 2300 peak, 1900 watts continuous. Facts.

Funny thing is I dont see anything about the wired having such certification on their website. Boy it looks as if the tables have turned on these cancellations. Death wobble and all. Literally just got my wired freedom 2024 plus yesterday, and holy shit is it crazy, have not gotten a ebike this fast and big, I'm not very tall at 6ft so it's quite a big bike to me, but I think I fit just right. Only managed to hit 41 so far because of the lack of a long stretch of road. But holy hell is it crazy, I can only say woah everytime I ride on it. Only problem I had was with the rear battery smacking a bit. So I put some foam in between the battery and locking system. Fixed most of the noise unless I hit a big bump. Just holy hell is it crazy.
Oh yeah the death wobble isn't really present unless u are letting go of the handle. Which no on ein the right mind is going to do that at higher speed on a bike like this. Maybe motorcycles but u really shouldn't on ebikes.
I have the Five Star without dual battery, but I think Shoot the Chit did a review of Goat 3 that had similar issue with battery instability/vibrating. I don't recall what he did, but you can check it out and do what he did to see if that helps.
i saw another vid where a guy built a dual battery RAD1 and had the same issue, its not the design its simply physics and weight distribution. these bikes are so light in front.
@@stoffel6348 yeah the front end was incredibly light, when I pick it up I have to have my hand on the back rack for a good hold or else the bike falls back. Somehow the bike still feels better in handling then my old aniioki aq117, which has a much bigger battery but lower center of gravity and smaller wheels.
The Wired Freedom has a weak, flexible frame. You will be best advised to not ride that bike so fast or make quick directional changes while riding it. It's not a safe bike.
Lots of good info in your posts and you're riding in one of the areas we want to ride in, Venice, Muscle Beach, etc. What about dependability and durability? We'll use features but the bikes will not be abused. Miles without problems. Your comments and experiences would help A LOT.

Hi Matt. I'm basically your height, but a little lighter. So great to watch reviews e bikes of someone of my stature. The other E cells bike you had tried had the thinner less knobby tires. Since for the most part I won't be going offroad and definitely not going to be driving in the sand I'm thinking those might be better for me? To bad that on their website they don't have any options anymore other than for an extra battery. I know you said the cadence sensor works fine, but coming from a bike with a cadence sensor I can't stand the ghost pedaling. Granted you had stated it was to much of an issue (and once again no longer an option on their website). Going to an Electric Expo in the bay area later this month so hoping to try their bikes there. Looking forward to more of your reviews.
E cells announced the Monster months ago and have yet to deliver a single one and will not ship any of these until 2025. Meanwhile, Wired announced a much more powerful AWD bike called the Predator and shipped out the first hundred within weeks of the announcement. Why anyone trusts or believes e cells is beyond me, just look at their horrible track record of broken promises and four to six month wait times. They are using people’s money to finance their business but never actually send them a bike. F rating from the BBB, Google it and read for yourself.

New Crusier has 1000 more watts peak and holds 2700+ watts continuous. Not really even close in terms of performance, the Wired bikes will bitch slap any e cells, particularly the ones with 24 inch tires.

I have the 17inch frame and I'm 6 foot... I kind of wonder if the 19 inch frame would have done me better because I could get the leg extension that I need and have the seat lower allowing the handlebars to be higher giving me a more upright sitting stance. my wrists hurt leaning over and I have to keep my saddle up high to get the correct leg extension.

Their website needs to straighten out. I know they made a lot of rolling changes but there is contradicting information. It says 203 rotors on front and rear on one part of the website then says 203 front and. 180 rear on another. Currently the color selection is completely broken .
The $2000 set up with one battery has 203mm and 180mm. .. the dual battery set up for $500 more included 203mm front and back .. i do not like that at all . With the power and speed of these e-bikes this e-bike should only come with 203mm front and back regardless .
The Wired bikes easily outperforms the e cell clone on every measure. 1000 more watts peak and 2700 watts vs 1900 watts continuous. It’s a full “legal” 750 watt bike more! It also has a much safer thru axle whereas the e cells uses a bolt on with drop outs, very dangerous in an emergency.

How does the total weight of the Dual Star compare to the Wired Freedom? Seems like it may be 10lbs more. Not sure if I love the huge motorcycle style headlight but at least it's included.

@@97JoMiller just google Wired ebike. also Wired uses a balancer that pulls from both batteries simultaneously keeping your voltage higher for longer.

I like the switch on the rear battery. My wired does not have that. The height of the Wired is 18", so right between the 17" and 19" E-cells.

I have the E-Cells 5 Star and its been an absolute pleasure to ride. I thought hard about getting the Dual Star option but figured the weight and wait offset the range benefits. I'm fairly lightweight and tend to ride 30 to 40 miles max. Happy to report that I am able to achieve that with my single battery 5 star! Peddling of course and not throttling the whole time😅

Death wobble is a thing with the new wired bike I hear. Something like that would get it cancelled. Not a safe bike!
The Wired bike is inferior to the E Cells bikes.
Wired fixed any wobble issue with a new Hellbender headset. It is MUCH faster. 3200 watts peak, 2700+ watts continuous. E cells is 2300 peak, 1900 watts continuous. Facts.
@@jfly2249 I remember when you told me the 5 star was going to have "massive cancellations" because of some certification jargon. Funny thing is I dont see anything about the wired having such certification on their website. Boy it looks as if the tables have turned on these cancellations. Death wobble and all. Literally just got my wired freedom 2024 plus yesterday, and holy shit is it crazy, have not gotten a ebike this fast and big, I'm not very tall at 6ft so it's quite a big bike to me, but I think I fit just right. Only managed to hit 41 so far because of the lack of a long stretch of road. But holy hell is it crazy, I can only say woah everytime I ride on it. Only problem I had was with the rear battery smacking a bit. So I put some foam in between the battery and locking system. Fixed most of the noise unless I hit a big bump. Just holy hell is it crazy.
Oh yeah the death wobble isn't really present unless u are letting go of the handle. Which no on ein the right mind is going to do that at higher speed on a bike like this. Maybe motorcycles but u really shouldn't on ebikes.
I have the Five Star without dual battery, but I think Shoot the Chit did a review of Goat 3 that had similar issue with battery instability/vibrating. I don't recall what he did, but you can check it out and do what he did to see if that helps.
i saw another vid where a guy built a dual battery RAD1 and had the same issue, its not the design its simply physics and weight distribution. these bikes are so light in front.
@@stoffel6348 yeah the front end was incredibly light, when I pick it up I have to have my hand on the back rack for a good hold or else the bike falls back. Somehow the bike still feels better in handling then my old aniioki aq117, which has a much bigger battery but lower center of gravity and smaller wheels.
The Wired Freedom has a weak, flexible frame. You will be best advised to not ride that bike so fast or make quick directional changes while riding it. It's not a safe bike.
Lots of good info in your posts and you're riding in one of the areas we want to ride in, Venice, Muscle Beach, etc. What about dependability and durability? We'll use features but the bikes will not be abused. Miles without problems. Your comments and experiences would help A LOT.

Hi Matt. I'm basically your height, but a little lighter. So great to watch reviews e bikes of someone of my stature. The other E cells bike you had tried had the thinner less knobby tires. Since for the most part I won't be going offroad and definitely not going to be driving in the sand I'm thinking those might be better for me? To bad that on their website they don't have any options anymore other than for an extra battery. I know you said the cadence sensor works fine, but coming from a bike with a cadence sensor I can't stand the ghost pedaling. Granted you had stated it was to much of an issue (and once again no longer an option on their website). Going to an Electric Expo in the bay area later this month so hoping to try their bikes there. Looking forward to more of your reviews.

Waiting on your review of the Monster
E cells announced the Monster months ago and have yet to deliver a single one and will not ship any of these until 2025. Meanwhile, Wired announced a much more powerful AWD bike called the Predator and shipped out the first hundred within weeks of the announcement. Why anyone trusts or believes e cells is beyond me, just look at their horrible track record of broken promises and four to six month wait times. They are using people’s money to finance their business but never actually send them a bike. F rating from the BBB, Google it and read for yourself.
Dam that’s where my black frame went 😂they had to give me a blue frame and I got a free battery they took over 77 days so yeah

Any chance of getting a review on the 2024 Wired Cruiser? There's enough reviews of the Freedom and the Five Star out there already and they are damn near twins.
New Crusier has 1000 more watts peak and holds 2700+ watts continuous. Not really even close in terms of performance, the Wired bikes will bitch slap any e cells, particularly the ones with 24 inch tires.

can you do an update on your philodo H8? i bought one and had hell of a trouble with the back tire and customer service was lackluster, putting it kindly.
I have the 17inch frame and I'm 6 foot... I kind of wonder if the 19 inch frame would have done me better because I could get the leg extension that I need and have the seat lower allowing the handlebars to be higher giving me a more upright sitting stance. my wrists hurt leaning over and I have to keep my saddle up high to get the correct leg extension.

I'm looking for a step through bike. Any chance of giving a review on the ECELLS STEP STAR? The specs aren't quite to the level of the Dual Star, but it looks pretty sweet! Not many videos on this model.

Their website needs to straighten out. I know they made a lot of rolling changes but there is contradicting information. It says 203 rotors on front and rear on one part of the website then says 203 front and. 180 rear on another. Currently the color selection is completely broken .
The $2000 set up with one battery has 203mm and 180mm. .. the dual battery set up for $500 more included 203mm front and back .. i do not like that at all . With the power and speed of these e-bikes this e-bike should only come with 203mm front and back regardless .

The Wired bikes easily outperforms the e cell clone on every measure. 1000 more watts peak and 2700 watts vs 1900 watts continuous. It’s a full “legal” 750 watt bike more! It also has a much safer thru axle whereas the e cells uses a bolt on with drop outs, very dangerous in an emergency.

How does the total weight of the Dual Star compare to the Wired Freedom? Seems like it may be 10lbs more.

You have to file a complaint with the BBB and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to get a refund from e cells. Insane that they are still in business.
