    Liked this list, thanks. I agree on the S1Pro as I have a few of them and the included documentation is awful. There are numerous YT videos thankfully to supplement for Creality there. What I have found is that once I upgraded the Y-axis to linear rails and upgraded the level adjustment springs, wheels, etc. I ended up with a pretty great printer. I'd found the majority of my issues came from the bed and I wanted to eliminate those issues. Then I attached them to a Sonic Pad and updated all the motion/image shaping and now they are pretty amazing. I probably could have bought better to start with the added costs and work but I really like how the upgrades have really upped the performance as well. Also upgraded the nozzles to hardened 500C.

      @ForelsVR 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I still have 2 Ender 3 S1 + Sonic Pad, and i hated every second they were stock. I had upgraded the hotend to the ones on the S1 Pro, added the lights of the S1 Pro, changed the CR Touch to have Zero Y Axis Bed Levelling (this made wonders) and also updated the fans to 5015 with MODULR DUCT 5015 FAN by Zuff and my only complains rn is the speed compared to my Bambu Lab P1S. I really wonder if investing on the Linear Rails for X Y and Z axis would help me in some way, now that gulfcoast-robotics doesn't exist anymore I would really appreciate some input in that regard. Also could you help me telling me what kind of Nozzle/Hotend/Extruder are you using?

    Have a couple older Enders and bought a Bambu P1S Combo, then when A1 Mini price dropped to $250 I got one. Enders have been collecting dust for months now and will probably never get used again. The Bambus just print and print with no fiddling or upgrades. That said, there are lessons I learned from printing with the less sophisticated Enders (mostly the hard way) that continue to benefit me today. Some print problems even the newest tech hasn't figured out a way to solve....yet.

    I would recommend something like an BL A1 Mini, BL A1 or Prusa Mini+ for beginners any day of the week over a "it works" printer that's really just a bit cheaper. The BL A1 mini has such a low price that "it works" printers are just for the tinkerers. Maybe rename it for the next edition to make the tiers more about the suitable user group rather than subjective measures.

      I'm not a beginner, I already have had a Anet A8, an Ender 3 first edition, and a Longer Orange. Now after a long break without a 3d printer, after careful consideration, I still bought a Bambu A1 mini. I considered every printer from 150€ to 500€, and there wasn't anything which ticked all the boxes like this one (apart the A1 but I wanted to spend less if possible and liked the compact frame)

  • @RedMageGaming
    @RedMageGaming 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

    BL A1 Mini is real great entry level small form factor printer to dip the toes in. Picked one up without the AMS, and kind of kicking myself for not getting the AMS. [not that I could really afford it at the moment but still] And it's going on sale for even less with their 2nd anniversary sale starting tomorrow. At $200 without the AMS I don't think there is a single printer out there that ticks all the same boxes and stays price competitive. The only real sacrifices it makes are build volume, and it has a slideshow of a camera feed. But otherwise, it's fast, quiet enough I don't need to put it in an entirely separate room and supports an AMS system for 4 color or multi-material printing, as long as you don't absolutely need a larger print space, it's great.
    I admit a small amount of bias, due to my own purchase and enjoyment of the printer, but my only buyer's remorse is I just didn't wait a little longer and get the combo. Won't make that mistake when I buy my next printer. Definitely getting an AMS.

Finally, also with some help from your online-lessons, i could get back to Blender and now i'm making different things using Blender and FreeCAD mostly on a daily basis. I have a Kingroon KP3S and an Ender 3 V3 SE and in my experience the SE is a better printer. It is a bit bigger, has auto levelling and auto z offset and runs faster. Also, my KP3S has XY skew (which I compensate for with a python script but that is an extra step). The SE was also less expensive and was it was easy to replace the stock build plate with a textured PEI build plate which works nicely for PLA and TPU. I imagine you can't test every machine but I do like the combination of features the SE has and if I had wanted to spend a bit more I would have gotten the KE. I think it is wonderful that there are budget printers available that also essentially just work with very little assembly.
    I don't want my printer connected to the cloud and I don't want to run it from my phone. I keep phone apps to a minimum. I prefer to run software on my own computer where reasonably possible.

Way too many people are shouting about "get this £1000 one.. it's great" whereas my experience of these is they are way to much hassle to set up and use then find out you really aren't that interested after all.. Your first printer should be cheap easy to assemble and pretty much after that plug and play while you learn the ropes.. I like my pair of Enders.. one has been upgraded to print high definition in pla and the other has an all metal hot end and I use it for ABS and other high temp nasty things..

      I'm currently working on converting my Sovol SV06 to CoreXY. A printer that belongs in the "It works" category, getting "upgraded" to remain in the "It works" category, maybe "For Pros", but with better enclosure and smaller footprint.

No one could help me and one of their "ambassadors" gave me a hard time and called me names because I wanted to RMA it since I bought it new. @@RynoDBonesOof... I'm surprised Anet still makes printers considering no one is reviewing them.

    What printer manufacturer shows up 3 times on the recommendation tier? The most anti-3D printer community company currently in the market. You are entitled to your opinion, but I'm afraid I have to disagree this time.

      I consider them the I-Phone of printers. If you are willing to let them handle everything, go for it. I prefer to tinker and repair my own stuff.

      I’m not sure about anti-community but anti-open source is probably more accurate. I’ve had to do a number of repairs to my A1 (due to my own human errors) and it’s been quite easy. They give all of the documentation and demonstration videos needed and replacement parts are reasonably priced. The tools included are inevitably crap (as are most included tools with all 3D printers) but are at least serviceable. There really isn’t a need for a technician if one has even the most basic of skills with hand tools.

      If getting successful prints out of the machine 99% of the time, and having negligible downtime for repairs and maintenance makes one "anti-3d printing"...
      I mean, yes. It takes the technology out of the hands of hobbyists and puts it into the hands of artists and (cough) software engineers with an Etsy side hustle. Maybe its because I value what comes out of the printer more than the time I put into the printer. But I can respect a different viewpoint, especially those who enjoy the modding and experimentation.

      I agree with you that "just printing" is attractive. The issue comes when parts wear out or break. If you can't obtain the parts or the parts can't be replaced (rails, bearings, etc). You are left with an expensive brick. it makes me wonder why some of these creators push these printers so hard. I've repaired mine. Several times. They sell parts and everything. And they're actually relatively easy to fix the most common issues. The rails and bearing are actually common parts, and the menu tells you when you need to lube them up again, so it actually helps you stay on top of your maintenance.

      This is such a myopic, echo chambered opinion.
      Like I bet if you tried to justify it wed immediately find flaws in your reasoning. Probably why you didnt list any.
