    Great help, thank you.
If you have any links to the kind of trousers are best that would be great!

Hey Chris, depends on your budget but Mountain Equipment do some great trekking trousers. These are what I use and what's in the video - www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/mountain-equipment-mens-approach-pants-A1B14080.html?colour=107
I also use these on the Everest treks - www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/craghoppers-mens-kiwi-pro-stretch-trousers-A1B12906.html?colour=147

      Great stuff cheers Andy.
Heading off to hike the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria in a couple of weeks, so I’ll go get some at the weekend and they can be used for EBC too. 😁

Nice one! Does one carry the total kit whilst on the trail (or do sherpas/guides take groups main kit/s) or whilst on trek just day pack with basic EDC (every day carry) e.g. water, FA kit, snacks, map/book, torch, gloves, hat waterproofs. Not a day goes by without me thinking about EBC via you guys. Besides many other multi terrain places done Brecon/Black Mntns few times in well adverse weather, Everest has been on my mind since I was a kid! Cheers

Yes, our guides carry your main duffel or backpack to make things a little easier for you. You just need to carry a daypack with some basic items like you have added, water, suncream, snacks etc. If Everest is on your mind, get in touch with us and we would love to help you get there

If we want to, and have experience with these sort of treks, could we ditch the duffel and day pack and just take it all in a good ~85l backpack for the extra challenge?

You do not need extra challenge there! Anyway, many people go solo and carry their own packs. Depending on the bulkiness of the sleeping bag & down jacket (or if you go without relying on lodge blankets/quilts) people manage with 45 -60 litre packs. If you fly to Lukla there is a 10 + 5 kg weight limit anyway. It is possible to rent sleeping bags and down jackets at Namche if you can not able to fit all your stuff down to 15 kg. You should.

Why would you need the big boots for gokyo Valley? I was under the impression that the trek to gokyo from namche was fairly similar to classic EBC trek i.e nothing too technical. A well defined track. Planning on doing this trek soon actually and I'm trying to figure out which type of footwear to use. Thanks

You do not. Trails are good, the last time I was there I used mid high Salomon trail runners (XA Mid something). I also crossed Renjo La to Thame and did other extra things. Let me tell you about "Cultural Gokyo" route:
Do not just go up and down via Dole - Machermo, much more interesting route goes Namche - Tengboche - Phortse - Thore/Thare - Nha - Gokyo - Renjo La - Thame - Namche. Real villages instead of lodge clusters, important monasteries, quiet trails. Takes the same amount of time if acclimating properly.

Best place to get merino items? is it cheaper to buy out there. I wouldn't want to there to find they dont have them out there?

Western brand high quality items cost about the same as at home, but the selection is limited. Better get them before you go.
